Very disappointing

I bought this vacuum a year ago and haven't brought it out to use in probably 9 months because it's a waste of energy. I have mostly hardwood floors so I just sweep them and use a stick vac for my rugs. This vacuum is light and convenient and has a long cord, but none of that matters since it doesn't have enough suction power to actually vacuum. Horrible product. Waste of money.

Awesome machine, top quality

recieved as a gift 30 years ago. still works awesome. may need to replace with another of same because most of the accessories are worn out and cant find replacement bundle, only individual pieces. love the vacuum. i hope they still make it as good. great job hoover!!!! the reviewer that said it didnt pickup anything probably had it on blower setting or forgot to turn it on.

Providing Quality Cleaning For Less

I recently received the Hoover Commercial Canister Vacuum as a wedding gift, a wedding gift that I requested because I knew this vacuum would get the job done better than any other vacuum I could possibly find for such a small price tag. Here are my top three things I love about the Hoover Commercial Canister Vacuum:

- It's incredibly lightweight (just under 8.5 pounds) and has a wide shoulder strap that allows me to easily carry the vacuum up and down the stairs, whether I'm going to the second floor to vacuum or I'm vacuuming the stairs.

- The power cord is 33 feet long! The extra long power cord allows me to vacuum my kitchen, dining room, living room and staircase without unplugging it.

- It does a fantastic job of cleaning hardwood, linoleum and tile floors as well as removing cat hair and dust from furniture.

Best vacuum ever!

I have an old Portapower QS that my mother gave me when I went away to college 43 years ago, I don't know how long she'd had it before she gave it to me. В It's still going strong! В We had contractors replace some windows and they raved about it, saying it beat the heck out of a shop vac! В Congratulations on creating a superb product. В You obviously forgot to include planned obsolescence in your design ;o)

light weight and easy to clean

this vacuum is awesome I have had this for three years and it is great .I have 6 animals great for pet hair and I love how the filter is washable I wash it by hand after two times I love it

Outstanding

My mother gave us this as a gift three years ago and I wish I had another at work. Great suction, we have two boys and a toddler girl. So, I vacuum daily and after having replaced all of our carpeting with hard wood it's great. I hate to wear shoes in my house and when I feel the slightest grit under my feet it's time to vacuum. The cord length is great, easy to cart around on my shoulder and best little vacuum ever.

Great in tight spaces

A friend recommend this because I have cork floors and can't use a beater brush vacuum. This works great on the floor and the bonus is it's great in tight or cluttered spaces. Easy to work around tables and chairs without moving everything. Reaches under bed pretty far. Has a great bower for pushing the dust you can't reach out. Attachment for furniture dusted my lamp shades better than my dust buster. Super long heavy gauge cord (non retractable) stores easily if you coil it and use the cord strap. Not sure how it works on carpets. I tried this on a bathroom rug and it was hard to push/pull. Only four stars because the canister takes some getting used to. It weighs 8 pounds and works best if worn over shoulder as intended. No wheels so it doesn't roll. I'm 65 and this may become a problem. (Fortunately, my place is small.) I would recommend with that one caveat.

I bought this vacuum to clean homes and I love it! It's everything it says it is. It's an all in one machine with all the attachments!

dependable vac

I love the Porta power by hoover, it's versatile and picks up fine dust and dander as well as larger stuff. I think it's great that you can use the paper bags if you choose to buy the adapter kit and carrying case is a must for ease of use.

Powerful, but....

This vacuum is very strong and does a very good job cleaning our hardwood floors. I did not give this five stars because the cord is extremely annoying. The cord on this vacuum is actually The same as the classic orange extension cord. I have always hated those extension cords because they always tangle up and once they get that way they can never be permanently smooth out or untangled but I took a chance on this vacuum because it got such great reviews. And guess what, it does tangle just the same. Before I use this vacuum I have to spend 20 minutes each time trying to untangle it so I could get at least 20 feet out of the cord because I have a large area to vacuum. I have tried everything possible to untangle this and nothing works. I have gone to YouTube and found every single instructional video on how to untangle orange extension cords but it is extremely difficult to follow the instructions because the orange cord is permanently affixed to the canister so it complicates the untangling process. I do not think I would buy this again unless they change the cord to a more robust design so it doesn't tangle and twist up.

Great vacuum

My wife and I absolutely love the vacuum cleaner however the power card is so stiff it is virtually impossible to wind up and store. We both wish it was more flexible
