Unless I'm doing something wrong this product will not allow me to determine the cut line. The tape is expensive and the printer cuts with excessive amounts on both sides of the output. I would like to cut it where the printing ends. To much wasted tape that I have to cut off anyway

I'm sure I'll like it soon
The potential is great with this labeler but I have not been able to use it yet. I'm having trouble with less than user friendly on line manuals and one support person knew so little about the machine that he told me it would not print Bold. The next support person I got just asked me to change the font, showed me how, and it printed bold. I cannot find any explanation of "chain printing' nor can I find out how to regulate the space between words. I have simple needs and have used a Brother PT 320 for over 20 years. I'm hoping for intelligent support when I next call.

Great printer and software, but...
The printer was at a great price and it works flawlessly, but the price of the labels makes the printer impractical. At 50 cents to a dollar a foot for the label stock, it makes labeling an expensive proposition. If you have a special need for a solid laminated label, this is your solution but be prepared to pay for it...

wanted this printer for a long time
this printer replaced my ancient pt310 which stopped printing after many years of service.
the only problem was a win 7 64 bit problem where it would not turn on properly. after a call to tech support we got the correct pt driver loaded and every thing has worked great since then.

I'm very p;leased with the ease of operation, small size and quality of labels produced. Downsides are the inch of tape that is lost with each label made and the high cost of tape.

Extremely efficient label printer. Sits unobtrusively on my desk next to the monitor. Just press the on button and the app shows up on my dashboard. Open the app, format the label & hit print. Couldn't be simpler! Ignore/forget the printer & it automatically shuts off. Then it just sits and waits for its next use. Purchased this model to replace a stand alone P-touch labeler. Much easier to use.

For years I used the P-Touch Label maker and decided because I'm on my desktop computer more and more these days that i would treat myself to a Label maker that allowed me to display on screen the label , size plus add characters and symbols like Chinese symbols , all from my computer and then print the label quickly and error free . No more wasted tapes printing out what i thought I had typed. This unit sits neatly next to my desktop screen within easy reach . The only fault would be not having a Shortcut on-screen so I don't have to hunt it down among my other programs . But anyway I love this Label Maker .

Difficult Software PT Editor
With Windows 8 I could not download the PT Editor software from the website and find it on my hard drive then use it. . Thee onboard PT editor lite works OK but I would like something fancier with more functionality and customization. Especially since it is available - its just unattainable easily. Brother should make this easier to download with W8. I know I can get it to work but it may take me hours of trying - I'll just use the PT Editor Lite program for now. Disappointing.

Good printer bad software
The software used to run this printer on the Mac sucks. Just trying to get it to recognize the printer takes forever and is inconsistent.

This little printer is a really good addition to your home office or just to your home computer. It works well (text, clip art, photos, and QR codes, etc.) and has a lot of choices for label tape. Definitely recommend.

I have not used this a lot yet, but it was a great purchase. Very simple to set up and pretty easy to use as well. I have not explored the software extensively yet but it seems straightforward and easy to use. It's a great way to print out labels so I'm happy with the purchase. Click preview click preview

I had originally bought this product to us to label my craft things. Then my son got a hold of it and has labeled everything in his shop from the tool box to the wall to the shelves. I love the product and it is so easy to use. I would recommend this product to everyone looking for a label machine.

I am not thrilled with this product. The editor will not recognize the printer as a printer so I can't use it. If I just use the lite editor, it leave a large amount of blank on either end that is wasted. This brings me to my next problem which is the fact that the different tapes are ridiculously expensive.

So far this has been a good device, BUT:\
While the description on the box says that it uses the TZe tapes but does not caution that the older TZ tapes will not work in it. My previous printer would accept BOTH. Since I have a supply of the older tapes I am stuck, and Brother hasn't offered a method of replacing them.

I can't tell, it has never worked
The first machine that I purchased, after speaking to one of your technicians I printed one label but no more. The same problem repeated, that being when I select print something flashes on the screen but no printer action.\
\
I spoke once again to a technician and he advised me that the machine was defective and should be returned which I did. He advised me that the replacement machine would work as configured on on Windows 10. I installed the new machine and the same, original problem exists.

Want to use it for inventory labels
Seems to be very good, but does not use old TZ tapes (different discussion). Not enough info, data, specs, guides, how-to-do on interfacing with PC application software, like MS Access database. Loading a different tape is awkward in that side cover entails picking up the PT-700 and not a simple open-door-replace-tape procedure.

I highly recommend you download the P-Touch Editor Software to get the most efficient easy use of your machine! I did download the software on my IMac and found the software very unfriendly.......I was frustrated and I decided to try the printer on my PC which is running Windows 10 and found the P-Touch software amazing! A very different experience than occurred when using on my iMac! I was so surprised at the ease of use, the huge number of repopulated labels covering everything from Holiday labels including Christmas, Halloween, home labels covering electrical symbols, kitchen items, address labels, gift tags to name a only a few! I tried a few of the pre setup labels and by simply checking a box you can have the label fill whatever size label you are currently using -- that is done automatically! I am a home user and can see that this is going to be a very practical and handy device to get organized.

We needed to replace an ancient Brady label printer used in our manufacturing department. The PT-P700 gave me a lot of flexibility to print multiple lines on a 12mm tape, thus saving me material cost. Easy to store labels and edit as required. I think that the only thing I would change is to add a fold-down tray to catch short labels that otherwise tend to shoot off when cut. For now, we have a Dixie cup in front of it...

I had bought the Ptouch for work in an industrial setting and loved the various tape types and the orange tape. I went ahead and bought one for home. I have had them over 4yrs with no problems. I like how easy it is to change tape sizes. Because of the wasted tape I quickly learned to put in many jobs before I cut them.

Great value for a more advanced label maker!
This is a great value! You get all the features of PC connectivity, without the hassle or added cost of a wirelessly connected solution. The P-Touch software is great! You can create labels as simple or as intricate as you'd like. There's even a "simple" and "advanced" mode, so the software really works at your level. Labels print quickly and the quality is pretty good, but not QUITE as good as the top tier 360 dpi models, however I doubt many home or home business users would complain. I personally used this model to print perfume bottle labels 1"x1.2" and it worked great for me! And the labels are extremely durable, so it was a no brainer to use Brother labels as opposed to some of the alternatives. Yes, it does waste a little bit of tape before printing, but the end result is worth it.
