A Great start but still needs a lot of work
I have had my Velop for 3 days now. Set up was pretty easy and the performance of the system over all has performed pretty great in my home which is a WiFi Bermuda triangle. As a network engineer by trade I am a little disapointed with available features and configuration options. The Velop is the Ronco of WiFi systems, just set it and forget it. The problem is I want to set a lot more than it allows for. As I have seen in other reviews there are zero advanced configuration options. I have a few static IP devices in my home that I had to reconfigure because I couldn't set the Velop to the network I wanted. Additionally I really hate the fact that it must be managed through the app. While app management is nice sometimes for quick looks and changes sometimes I want to sit at my computer and use a full web browser. My last point of contention is not with Velop so much as it is with the LinksysSmartWiFi account system as a whole. I have had 3 different Linksys SmartWiFi devices over the years. This has left several offline device in my account, not clean at all. The only solution for removing these devices was to delete my account and create a new one. Unfortunately since I had already set up my Velop I am not unable to add it to my new account. I am now on day 3 of my support case with no resolution. Velop seems to have a lot of promise and if Linksys/Belkin listen to the customer feedback and fix some of these issues than it should be a great product. I am only saying no to the would you recommend this product to a friend because many of my friends are going to have the same issues with it that I do. Otherwise for the average home user i think its great.

Unreliable, and slower than AmpLiFi HD
I've tested Velop, Google WiFi, Orbi, and AMPLIFI HD. Velop can hit high speeds, but not reliably. Out of all the devices I tested, Velop is the only one that frequently dropped connections to my Dropcams for long periods at a time, several times a day. It also doesn't do well with walls, despite saying I placed the nodes perfectly. It gives very little feedback on where to put the devices. Just says it's good... doesn't give you a signal strength meter. It also doesn't let you change your subnet. It also requires a connection to the cloud. And it's the most expensive. AmpLiFi HD is the most reliable one I've tested and it does everything locally without "phoning home" to the cloud, which I appreciate. I've since returned the Velop.

    Best Router Ever!
I  have 5700 sq foot home and the cello does an amazing job  at giving me fast speeds in every room. Not to mention the easy and simple setup, with the splendid Lynksys Smart WiFi app.

smoke & mirrors if you need parental controls
You cannot control access based on time. You can only block specific sites. (up to 10). Velop can only be configured via the Linksys app and it specifically states in the app that you need the web based setup to manage devices and time.... Totally stupid and it sucks. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

    Absolutely Thrilled
This was the only router I have bought that was able to reach my garage with a reliable connection. I also am now getting my connection that I am paying for, I'm absolutely thrilled with this router.

    Best wifi I've ever had
I got the 3 below package and this is the best wifi system I've ever seen. I'm paying for 200 Mbps and I'm getting 215 Mbps on any given night with 21 Mbps upload. This is just incredible my streams never buffer I mean never I even have wifi in the backyard and the driveway. I highly recommend this wifi mesh system.

    good coverage?
These were more expensive than their competition but got decent reviews and so I purchased them to cover a single story 2,500 sq ft home. Not being terribly computer literate, I hired the Geek Squad to install the system for me. When the installer left my home all 3 nodes had blue lights indicating that they were all working properly. A few days later I noticed that the node farthest from the base has a yellow light. That situation has continued intermittently ever since so I re-called the Geek Squad again and they will be returning to troubleshoot the situation. All indications are from Linksys that this system is easy to install and works fine for a normal sized one story home-but apparently not.

    Best ever for large houses
Great range same speed throughout the whole house  & yard about 500 meters. I  would recommend the Velop to Everton 5 of 5 in my book. Setup was difficult but Linksys customer service is one of the most courteous reps obe dealt with. Thanks to Robin Linksys contines having a longtine satisfied customer.

    Makes set up reasonable
All in all this is a good upgrade for a home or small office set up.  I had a few issues at first with connections to older model products like DVDs.  Linksys help line was quick to respond, but the tech was slow to understand the problem.  The application for controlling the router is slick, but there are some logic gaps that you have to work through because there is no manual. Example is there is no button on the routers to link devices using WPS.  However, there is a connect option that you will ultimately find by searching.  I still am not sure how adjusting the priorities for connecting devices works with the advertised automatic speed detection.  The system seems to work well with just two routers in a one story 3400 sq ft house.  I have a wish and an idea for Linksys.  Show the user how the system works on a before and after basis. It is difficult to know how much better this system is when compared to the performance of my older two channel one.  In any case, I give it four stars because of the ease of set up.

    Overall, great product!
I have had my Velop 3 unit mesh network system installed for over a month now.  I have a 4500 sq. ft. 3 story home and I had a LOT of dead zones with my previous router & extender (Netgear high-end units).  I would say the mesh system got rid of about 90% of the dead spots.  I do have one computer on the first floor in the kitchen that still drops it's connection occasionally (quite rarely, actually - it used to be WAY worse) but other than that one box, everything else is working really well.  It's awesome to be able to walk around the whole house with a tablet and never lose your connection like I used to.\
    \
The system was very easy to set up - good instructions come with it too.  I would highly recommend this system to anyone looking to upgrade to mesh!\

    It's So So
Purchased just about a month ago. Found a few issues that are making me return for a refund. First, the only way to configure this is by using an app on a phone or tablet. Normally, that may not seem like a problem, but if you can't get to the Linksys cloud, then you can't configure or view your devices. Happened twice to me. Next, whenever I've made a config change, it drops all of the wireless devices and makes them reconnect. Next, the setup took almost 45 minutes. That is about 35 minutes too long. The application is somewhere between slow and doesn't respond. Using it makes me feel like I am on an old 14.4k modem. Lastly, if you use wireless backhaul and have a switch hanging off a child node, it drops often due to the above mentioned item with changes in the config.

    Doesn't switch well
Product doesn't recognize a device 5 feet away.  Also doesn't switch well when you move around the house

    Velop is an Awesome Product
I bought the 3 node system to cover my 3100 sq ft 2 story home plus basement.  Bottom line - wow!\
    \
I had a WRT1900AC i was trying to use to cover the whole house, tried hi gain antenna, had tried multiple access points and repeaters in the past.  None of that compared to the speed and ease of Velop.  \
    \
The nodes all set up easily and all connected without a hitch.   I moved one of them to a wired backhaul easily.  Everywhere in my home now gets great speed and connectivity.   Walking around the house my iDevices move from node to node without an issue.   \
    \
I also went ahead and put Velop in bridge mode to split the load of numerous wired devices (TVs, game consoles, Apple TV, desktop computers, etc) and wireless devices.   This works really well.  Painless setup and great performance.  Although you do lose a number of features on ghe Velop system like tracking what devices are connecting to what nodes, etc.  \
    \
That known limitation aside, for ease if setup, speed. and flexibility thus product is an easy 5.

    Available anywhere
Reason to get Velop is to increase coverage anywhere within the house. With our old router, Samsung smartphone cannot get any signal when the bedroom door is closed. Now, we do not need to open the door to access it.

    Bridge Mode Works!
Weeks ago I bought a different "mesh" product.  After days of frustration I had to return it for the simple fact it did not work in true bridge mode as a mesh system.  The velop system delivers as promised -- works great as a bridge system behind my AT&T combo modem and router. Coverage is very good and consistent speeds. Great product for the DIYer!

    Worth Every Penny
My old Linksys router did not have MU-MIMO technology and I was starting to get alot of network lag on my wireless devices recently, so I took the plunge and bought this today.  Worth every penny.  It took like 5 minutes to setup.  Network latency is gone.  Highly recommend!

Makes my wifi trouble free and enjoyable
Finally I can stop trying to tweak my wireless router and extenders because I'm never satisfied with the dead spots I have in my home.  My wifi is now fast and reliable everywhere in my home.  The best wifi is one that you don't need to think about.

Finally have WiFi all over the house
I bought this because we wanted to be able to stream in the finished lower level of our fairly large home.  It's three levels with the office in a loft.  The total finished space of our home is about 6200 sqft.  With just one cable modem/router from Spectrum, we had OK wifi all over the house but couldn't stream anything  on Netflix or Amazon.\
    \
So today, went out and bought the 3 pack.  Reminded me of an Apple product while unwrapping.  It is as simple as downloading the app and following the instructions each step of the way.  took about 30 minutes to complete all three nodes.\
    \
Works great and allows our smart Samsung 4K 65" TV to stream away as I wanted.  It is pricey no doubt and will probably drop in price now that I bought it.  But we now have no varying degrees of signal strength anywhere in our home.\
    \
I would highly recommend and I looked at several different systems.  Again, this is definitely not the cheapest but love the form factor.

Solved all of my dead spot issues.
Wish I would have bit the bullet a long time ago and stopped screwing around with changing my router and extender positions, only to be foiled with either connectivity issues or items not working for one reason or another.  One month later, I cannot believe that everything is working flawlessly, without rebooting anything, nor anything dropping off the network.  I really, really, really like the App as I can tell without a doubt what is connected to the network.  Word of caution here, connect one item at a time, rename it in the App so you know what it is before moving on to the next.
