    Designed to use less energy during normal operation, this backup system provides enough power for you to work through short and medium length power outages. Data line protection safeguards your equipment from damaging surges and spikes that travel along utility and data lines. Four stage LED status display indicates On Line, On Battery, Replace Battery and Building Wiring Fault conditions. Continuous tone and two different chime alerts notify you of changing utility power and UPS conditions.     Excellent Experience
    Have used 20+ APC Battery Backups for 10+ years w/o any negative results. Bought 25-650's in 1995 w/some still goin strong. Bought 10-1000's at the same time and haven't even replaced batteries in some of them.
    Are just now replacing the older units w/new more energy effecient models of the same size. Never considered any other brand, simply due to service and reliability.

    Great Product - Love the Green Option
    Let's face it. Everyone should have their computers attached to a UPS. Agreed? Ok, it that's the case why wouldn't you use an APC Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet UPS? Everyone has lots of things that need to be plugged in and protected, either by surge protection or battery backup. 8 outlets are better than 6!

    The really nice thing about the APC products, other than their quality, is that when one dies, and they all die eventually, you can order a new one. The price is discounted because you are going to send your old one back to them. This eliminates these things ending up in the landfill somewhere.

    Great all around. New, more power UPS and they take the old one away. You don't even pay for shipping for the return.

    I won't go anywhere else for my UPS's.

    Very cost effective and easy product to install an
    It took me less then a minute to install this product and have it up and running fully. I have heard a lot of positive things about APC back-up UPS's. It is certainly a product that more then pays for itself when your equipment is protected from damage byu a brown out or surge.

    necessary purchase
    Bought this model to replace my older BackUPS500 unit to protect my computer equipment. I expect this one to be just as reliable as the older model, even though this one is noisier. Sounds like the battery circuitry "talks" as it tries to recharge the backup battery.

    Great little item!
    We already had an APC Back-UPS 550, so when we needed to replace two older units - one an APC product, the other of a different brand - we automatically wanted a similar APC product to the 550. These are compact and with the available ports, outlets, etc., they are perfect for our needs. We even put one in an upper kitchen cabinet to be out the way, and it produces less heat than the previous older other-brand model did. We are very happy with our acquisitions!

    One improvement this model has over earlier models is the USB on the UPS.

    Limited Experience, But A Good Product
    This unit was doing a great job until a power surge in a bad thunderstorm took it out. I had only had it for about six weeks. The good news is that it saved a laser printer and other computer equipment.

    Not totally happy
    I was disappointed that this UPS had no software support for an iMac. The unit works great but I was use to the software telling me if I had a problem when I had a PC. Shipping was very slow also, that needs improvement.

    Great Product
    Great product with lots of nice features. A great product for the price. The only issue I have with these is that they seemed to have shortened the USB management cable. They used to be about a foot longer which makes a difference in my particular office. In the future I hope they lengthen the USB cable.

    Great for Small Offices!

    Fantastic Product! Well Done APC!!!
    Great product, works as advertised. This is a wonderful addition to any workspace. These days you need to be prepared for the worst. With this product on hand, you'll be ready to save the day! I highly recommend this to all of our customers.

    Purchased in February 2017, died in January 2018.
    I have had many APC units over perhaps a 20 year period of time. They have always been reliable. But a unit that is dead after less than a year has me wondering if the quality of work at APC has deteriorated. I will try another model. I also have a model 850 that was purchased at the same time.\

    However I won't allow APC another chance if this occurs again.

    Upgraded - Good Buy
    Recently had to replace an older backup and decided to upgrade to the APC Back-UPS 650. So far so good, no problems and works great.
