This product zaps the chlorine in Van Nuys, CA
I use it to get fresh water taste in Van Nuys, California. The tap water is so strong with chlorine smells that I refused to drink it. I can now use the pitcher to save money on my drinking water.

Awesome product - love it!
No matter where I am, the BRITA filter makes my water taste delicious!
I was used to my sweet, Hawaii water my whole life. Since moving to Oregon, it took me a while to get used to the water, and the BRITA filter helped me out a lot.

This product is amazing and the basis of the Brita wonderfulness.
Brita fliters are the reason I started using Brita in the first place. It makes tap water bearable and makes me want to drink water more often. I love this product and will keep buying it till the day tap water has a giant brita filter at the plant.

My biggest hang up about drinking water is how funky tap water and drinking water can taste. But with my Brita filters, I can enjoy drinking water again and not worrying about the weird taste.

Easy to use (with one caveat)
This filter is easy to install and begin using. The only problem I've had is with the small carbon pellets escaping out of the top of it, but it usually only happens if I pour some of the filtered water out while there is still unfiltered water in the top section.

Better then bottled water!

This filter works well. However, I constantly get the small black pieces of charcoal in the top resivoir holder (before the water goes down through the filter). I have a newer pitcher and it tells to have the faucet water not stream down on top of the filter, which I don't do. I constantly get these pieces in the pitcher and some even get down into the water pitcher.

I L-O-V-E how easy it is to replace these filters in my pitcher. I'm a busy wife and mother to a 3 year old and I don't have a lot of time to spare, so when it's time to replace my filter all I have to do is soak the filter for a few minutes and then drop it into the top of my pitcher - done! It doesn't get much better than that and I ACTUALLY enjoy drinking my FILTERED tap water.

Everything tastes better with Brita
My tap water tastes horrible. As in, plug your nose and swallow fast. But Brita filters makes it taste delicious! I can drink a glass of room temperature Brita water without any horrible aftertaste. Brita makes water taste like it should, before people started ruining the water supply.

Saves Money & Gets the Job Done
I like this filter and I have used it for my Brita pitcher for wow about four years. I like that using a filter saves money and keeps me from using individual plastic bottles.
The only thing I don't like about this filter is that it leaves the little black specks floating around but I know that that is how the water is filtered. The specks don't make in past the area where you place the water before its filtered but it does cause me to give the filter a good not an excellent ratingId.

I really like having a Brita pitcher. It saves money and storage space from buying bottled water. I live in the city and hate city tap water, but with the Brita pitcher, water tastes even better than it being bottled. I am so glad I bought the Brita pitcher and never want to go back to bottled water.

Good for a college student
I live by myself in an apartment without a water filtration system and this filter works great! the only thing is that it takes a while for the new cartridge to produce clear water, not black/ brown because of the filter minerals.

I love the easy change of the Brita filters. I take the opportunity while I'm soaking the filter to really wash out the pitcher. Then when thats done just pop in the new filter and its ready to go.

Great taste! Worth every penny
We started using the Brita system about a year ago after my husband lost his job. We just couldn't afford to waste money on bottled water. We were so surprised at how much better this water tasted compared to some of the top brands of bottle water. We take our Brita water everywhere we go.

I live in an apartment up two stories and every 2 weeks I was hauling about 3 or 4 cases of bottles up my stairs. But no more. The filter fits in with my other groceries, and I can't tell the difference in taste from my bottles.

Brita filters provide great tasting water and knowing I'm not wasting water bottles makes me feel great.
I also am very picky when it comes to water. I don't usually like Dasani or Aquafina but Brita filtered water tastes great to me and I couldn't imagine not having it.

I had come to this page to complain so here goes - I have purchased Brita pitchers for years and replace the filters approximately every 3 months - sometimes less but never much more - this time the filter lasted from 12/21 to 1/10 - seriously? why should I have to come to this page to write a review instead of the contact page? We moved into a new house that has well water. Water is all I drink all day, and the well water is horrible. I CANNOT drink it. We were buying 2 cases of bottled water each week, and knowing all those bottles were ending up in a landfill was terrible. I bought the Brita pitcher and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

I've been using brita pitchers and filters for over 20 years and I'm generally happy with Brita. I have always found the filters to give off black specks and it's never worried me cause I realize it is to be expected and it is pretty much just carbon. And usually it is just in the top part of the reservoir so it's not in the water.
One thing that i have found to help with issues with a "floating filter" or particles in the water is to make sure the filter is seated correctly. You have to push down on it a little to make sure it can't move out of the hole even if you tried pulling it from the top (you'll have to remove it by pushing from the bottom). Doing this, I have had no issues with a floating filter or much in the way of specks in the water.
Lately I have found some filters stop filtering. The water will just sit in the top of the reservoir. I usually have to dump all the water and then put more water in to get the filter to flow again. Seems to be a pressure issue or something. I had to ditch a filter recently because it kept doing it.
Now, they have new brita filters which have a new design and where you no longer have to presoak for 15 minutes though they suggest doing three pitcher run throughs, where you fill it three times and dump it. Also they claim no more black specks. I just put in my first new filter and the water tastes a little less fresh than normal. Don't know why but I'll keep watching it over the next few pitcher refills. Hoping its just my mouth or something temporary which it likely is. The new design is a little odd looking.
Overall though, I think Brita is great. Thanks.

new & improved design = reduced effectiveness
The new design is more convenient because of the easy to grasp top which makes it easier to change. the water flows much faster through the filter as well, which is nice from a convenience standpoint, but terrible from a water filtration standpoint. The result is water that tastes like slightly improved tap water. So I'll be returning these and I think I'll switch to a large tank filtration system with a mineralizer. Thanks Brita for being the catalyst in this change. Sorry I won't be one of your customers anymore. Bad design...

I have tried two kinds of Brita filters: the one you put on the faucet and the pitcher. I couldn't use the faucet one anymore because the faucet wasn't sturdy enough. I tried the pitcher. It was wonderful. Until I started to get the carbon flakes with my second filter and the water tasted funny. I told Brita and they sent me a complementary advanced filter. It is great so far! No more carbon flakes in the water or the reservoir and the water tastes amazing! At first I was worried because the water came out a charcoal gray, but after dumping the first load, it was clear. I flushed it twice more just to be certain. I would recommend this pitcher.

I have used this filter for 1 1/2 months and there are black flecks in the reservoir. The old style filter never did this but I can not find them anymore. Now I am forced to buy a different filtration system and hopefully it does not produce black flecks or else it is just back to drinking tap water.

I hope Brita is reading this. I started using the newly designed filter last week, while I appreciated the no-soaking convenience I am not sure it's working right. A lot of water didn't go through the filter. It leaks right down to the pitcher. What's the point?

I bought a bunch of these filters just to find out that they do not fit any of the three brita pitchers at home. The old filters fit completely fine, however the new filters leak water out from the sides.

Good filter but needs improvement
This is the newer version of the original older filter that you had when we first started the Brita pitcher. Although it is better than the older version there is still need for improvement. PLEASE NOTE: The reason for this is due to the lengthy time it takes to fill the pitcher in order to accomplish aiming the water from the faucet directly into the filter openings. It seems that no matter how slowly you 'trickle' the water it still spills over the side and the purpose of the 'filtered' water is basically lost. It would be much more efficient and time saving (since we refill the pitcher a few times a day and who has that much spare time) IF THE FILETER WAS SHAPED AT THE TOP LIKE A 'FUNNEL' . This would allow users to take less time to fill the pitcher, actually get the water into the filter, and make it overall much more convenient. The idea of the Brita pitcher overall is a fantastic idea since it saves so much for users to not have to purchase as many bottles of waters which ends up being more costly. I appreciate the fact that the old & new filters fit all of pitchers. That type of genius change lets me know you were really thinking about your customers. This makes it simple & I will remain a loyal customer, since I don't have to change out or throw out my old filters when I purchase new pitchers. I convinced an elderly friend of how simple it would be to use your pitchers instead of having water delivered. I bought her two pitchers, 1 for the refrigerator & 1 to sit on her counter. She was extremely happy w/ your pitchers, the ease of using the filters & most of all the water taste great. No more waiting for a delivery person that has been showing up late anymore, she cancelled her water delivery & saved some money.
Enough of me going on & on. But I truly do mean every word. Also, love the new filters design & not having to soak them.

I bought this one recently that it say "new" outside the box !\
Since I change to this new one, the filters come out the lose many times, and I have to pour out whole tank of water !\
Waste so many water and time, and so much trouble !\
I don't know is the filter's problem or Dispenser's problem !\

the design of the filter is flawed. it pops out of the filter holder of my pitcher with every use - therefore allowing unfiltered water to mix with filtered water every time, totally defeating the purpose of filtering my water. It needs to have some type of twist & lock design to hold it in place. I have owned a brita filter pitcher for as long as I can remember & this last filter design is making me seriously consider switching to a different pitcher & filter system. please tell me a new twist & lock design is already in the works - I can't believe this is happening only to me...

They last so long even with as much water as we drink. We have recently moved from WI (we had hard water) to AZ (we have a water softener) - so we'll see how long the filters last in this new enviroment.

The filter doesn't last as long as it claims to, at least not in my case. I feel like the filter indicator in my pitcher is red more than it is green. Other than that, it's easy to install and switch out. Pretty simple.

I love that it is so easy to replace the filter, I drink water like crazy and have to replace my filters every 2 months (I wish they lasted a little longer because they're expensive!) Nonetheless, these filters are great and I would recommend anyone to use Brita. A great company that makes great products!

I DRINK 10-15 GLASSES OF WATER DAILY- I AM ADDICTED TO WATER AND... you! I HAVE BEEN USING YOU OVER 10 YEARS. I USE MY PITCHER DAILY FOR FILTERING AND FILL UP BOTTLES TO CARRY WITH ME. Filter better than before
New design only requires 15 seconds of running water, much better than previous one. Water comes out fresh, doesn't taste chlorine like water come out from fridge. Knocked 1 star because the filtration speed slows down over time, well before replace time, which is something to work about.

Four of my six grandchildren now drink water instead of soda when they come to my house. They agree with me that the water does not have that slight smell and is always cold. A higher review in my opinion, does not exsist. Oh, the other 2 grandchildren are 21 & 24 - no more Nonna house.

My pitcher was given to me & because i'm very sensitive to smells, this changed my life.\

We have just finished the last version of Brita filters, we felt there too many black carbon particles came out from the filter. And you have to clean those black particles every time you refill the cool water from the faucet. Today, we replace the filter with the new version like the picture shown at the left side. Hope this is improved.

Glad we started using these
I've been using Brita for quite a while but recently moved and can tell the difference in the taste of the water. We have a strong chlorine smell and with these filters it completely eliminates that. I can tell when my filter needs replaced by when it starts to taste like swimming pool.

I love my Brita pitcher and filter unit.. replacing the filter is very easy, simply align the slots on the bottom of the filter with the slots on the pitcher and press down to secure.. no twisting, no straining .. fresh tasting water for another three months.

I've lived in New York State most of my life. Born in NYC and now living farther upstate in Ulster County. I've never questioned the quality of city tap water. However, water filtered through Brita is absolutely delicious. Makes coffee taste better and sun tea amazing. Smooth and velvety.

Works well and Easy to Access
These are very easy to find, no matter where you are (if not in person, then online). They work well, and I trust them to not have anything weird going on. My only complaint is the need to change them around every 2 months (feels like often), BUT considering how much water I drink, I figure it worth it (especially when I consider how many plastic one-use water bottles I would have consumed). They take out the chlorine taste, the mineral residues, etc. I think they might even lighten up some "goopier" tasting waters. Would reccomend.

Very Good Filtered Pitcher
Love my filtered pitcher. The filtered water tastes great; no strange after taste, graniness, or other odd flavors. But, I wish the filter were easier to seat in the pitcher. Too easy to install the filter incorrectly leaving gaps around the filter where unfiltered water can fall through into the pitcher.

My addiction to my brita is so bad I now currently have a pitch in my work fridge and at home.. I can tell as soon as it is time to replace the filter. I refuse to drink any water that has not be filtered though my brita. Girls at work think I'm totally crazy!!! I love my brita!!!

I've had this pitcher for at least a year and a half. I live in Arizona where the water is extremely hard! I use it for drinking, cooking and ice. I love the design of the reminder on top of the pitcher!!! I know there are more filtered pitchers coming out on the market, however I feel safe and very satisfied with my Brita pitcher!! I bought a Brita pitcher last year and this is the filter that was included. I must say that this is one of the easiest filters that i have ever used. Pitcher and Dispenser Filter
Just bought this pitcher and dispenser filter and tried it out. Reading all the easy instructions it was simple to figure out. My friend has another brand and every time I try filling the dispenser I end up draining excess water...not the case here. The lake model has a lid that will auto close and only takes two precise fills to get at the right level.

My city has a water issue.. The faucet water tastes awful- you can smell and taste chlorine each time you go for a simple glass of water. My family decided to invest in a few Brita products to help subside the taste. We are extremely pleased with the results! No more chlorine smell or taste! I really enjoy the use of my Brita water filter. These are easy to replace and has lasted at least 6 months with roughly 2 refills of my pitcher a day. Awesome concept and has saved me lots of money in the long-run.

Significant improvement over original filters!
As long-time Brita customer, I just wanted to say how pleased I've been with the vastly improved design of the standard filters over the originals. The old ones allowed tiny charcoal filtration bits to float up into the filtering chamber. While I always knew they were harmless, they just weren't aesthetic. Aesthetics and harmony in my daily life are very important to me. The choice of pitcher styles and colors is nice in that way, too. I think it's great that Brita continues to innovate with all its product designs and positive environmental actions: Bravo, Brita!

We have been using this for awhile, and recently maid a purchase of a 6 pack. It was a great price for a great item that we use all the time. These real Brita bran filters actually fit in the Brita filters and work properly compared to knock off replacements. No hassle and great tasting, health, safer water.

Really does the job in filtering the tap water

When I purchased my dispenser it came with one standard filter that says to last up to two months depending on how much its used daily. I think that it is overall convenient and gets the job done. However, the amount of time that BRITA gives me in terms of its use is a very short period of time. If I had a different option that could last longer (which there is) I would most certainly buy the longer lasting filter than the standard. I would leave these as emergency filters in an event that I couldn't get or afford or if I had a life changing situation where I couldn't have the longer lasting filter

I use this filter in my mini Brita pitcher and it filters things out very well. My water tastes so clean. The only problem I have with it is that filters are kind of pricey and only last approximately 2 months.

I really have liked the new designed Brita filters. It is easier to get them out of the pitcher. Plus you don't have to soak the newer filters like the old ones. I have had several Brita pitchers throughout my life and I always buy their filters because they do there job.

Changing filters used to be a chore, but with this new design, it just takes a minute or two. There are no black specks of charcoal floating around in my pitcher or in my cup anymore either. I can taste the difference in my water between my Brita filtered and straight from the faucet water.

We have been using Brita Pitchers for years. We have one in the refrigerator, one on the countertop (for those who don't like cold water) and we have one we use to fill the pets' water bowls. The water tastes so much better and we aren't filling the environment with plastic bottles.

I have been using Brita pitchers for years. And I have tried ALL the store brands, every possible generic brand--trying to save a dollar here or a dollar there. After years of trying them all out, (even in different states across the USA,) I can completely attest to the fact that there is a DIFFERENCE in using the Brita brand name when it comes to water filters. Brita filters last longer and the water tastes better. Without a doubt, do not try and save a few pennies for your pitcher/dispenser filter by buying any other than the brand name BRITA.

I have had this Brita pitcher for several years. I enjoy the convenience of just filling up the pitcher at my kitchen faucet. The filter last a bit longer than advertised. The water tastes great and refreshing. This particular filter is larger than the newer ones and in my opinion, lasts longer and removes more toxins than the smaller ones.

My son gifted me with a 10-cup Lake pitcher and a year's worth of standard filters. I used Brita filters years and years ago and I remember how messy the filters were, and how you had to soak them for 15 minutes. Not now--just simply run the filter under water for 15 seconds now! Also, you used to take 4 or 5 pitchers to get a clear fill (meaning a pitcher of water that wasn't clouded with charcoal). Now, it appears clear after 2, but the still recommend you use the first 3 pitchers to water your plants.

I've been buying filters for a while now and decided to write about them. However, I didn't know about the recycling of them until recently. I love the idea.....and earning points to do so?? BONUS!!! For me, one drawback with the filters is having to run (and waste) water over the filter for 10-15 seconds. I'd like to think there is a better, resource saving, method of doing so. But otherwise, I like them and will continue to buy and use them.
