Leaking in sealed package before use.
My batteries are good until 2022 and they are leaking inside the sealed package. What's up with that?

Major problem with Durcell batteries leaking
I have endless problems with these Duracell batteries leaking and destroying my appliances. The latest item to be ruined is my LED Laser T7 torch - see photos attached. I don't seem to have the same problem when I use other branded batteries Please advise

They aren't what they used to be.
Used to tell us they're not going to leak. These did, in my Microsoft wireless keyboard. All happened in just 4 weeks of using just my laptop.

My current toll of ruined devices due to leakage now stands at 1 AA Mag-lite flashlight, 2 Seiko AA battery-powered alarm clocks, 1 Brother AA-powered label maker, and 1 wall heating thermostat. I really can't recommend these batteries.

Purchased a small, portable label-maker. Used the alkaline batteries as specified. Programmed the unit, did a few practice labels and the "low battery" indicator was already on. The batteries did not last 90 minutes.

dollar store batteries don't leak
stamped 2023 and 2025 long life, Don't believe the 10 year claim they leak and corrode in the package, I'd rather use a cheap battery in my devices that don't leak. Interesting the ones stamped 2015 and 2013 didn't leak. Taking them out of all my devices

I have used duracell coppertop batteries for years. Last week I was surprised to come across ones that had leaked. Today I was checking a flashlight that I use for emergencies and it didn't work. When I looked inside the batteries were so corroded I had a hard time getting them out. When I did I found that their useful date was 2020. I will no longer be buying your batteries. In looking on line I find that a lot of people have had the same problem.

Sorry but Duracell was a name I trusted but I can't bring myself to buy another Duracell battery. I have unfortunately had them leak into so many products, damaging them and now I much take the time and post some reviews. Usually I just throw them out including the device on occasions. See the photo showing just one example of a battery that leaked. It was one of three installed the other test as still having a full charge. What can I say but I am utterly sick of it happening over.

Leaked - Destroyed desk phone
I thought Duracell batteries were not supposed to leak.\
But the ones in my desk phone leaked\
and destroyed the desk phone battery box via corrosion. \
So I no longer see any reason to pay premium for Duracell products.

duracell battery quick review
I owned Duracell batteries for many years since i was a kid and they work very good. but sometimes I face unexpected leakage that has damaged 2 flashlights so far hopefully that wont happen again. other then that have been pretty good batteries to use. Just keep a eye out for leaking batteries.

I purchased 4 new batteries and all 4 batteries were dead according to the Pulse Load Multi-Battery Tester. The batteries were installed in smoke alarms and failed after 24-hours. The number on the bottom of all 4 batteries is 7187 A967.

Batteries go bad in storage!
I buy the bulk back of batteries at a box stored, however, I find that some go bad before I can use them even though the date to use them buy is 2023! The store will not do anything about it, but this happens often enough that the batteries are becoming expensive. I am going to research batteries for another brand.

Another sad story of Duracell AA & AAA batteries
2025 Duralock AA & AAA batteries are evidently made in China, seems they don't last even a year and corrode even when sitting in the container! (see pic. I am about to throw away all my last batch of 2025 Duracell batteries and Energizers...

I bought a pack of 32 AAA's 1 year ago and contrary to the label it leaks. It leaked with the packaging and in my flashlight. The acid ruined the connectors on the flashlight. Beware of the 10 year leak proof guarantee - it LEAKS!!!

I've used Duracell exclusively for many years without much issue. lately (last year or so) every device I put these in has been destroyed due to battery leakage; flashlights, voltage tester, label printer on and on. until the problem is fixed I'm using another brand, energizer perhaps

I have an old flashlight that is a display item the Duracell D cell batteries in it have a date on them of Jan.96 that makes them 23 years old !! Not leaking and it still shines bright .

Quality Control has declined
In the last year I have purchased packs (both AA and AAA) with dead batteries and once that have chemical leaks. The use by dates are well in the future (Dec 2025). Need to hire someone that can fix their quality control process.

The difference between Duracell batteries vs cheap batteries is crazy. It seems like Duracell last 10x longer. The best example is my Xbox controllers. Cheap batteries will only last a week or two. Duracell will last 2-3 months.

Duracell has done it again! The Coppertop battery is well worth it. We have many electronics in our house that take batteries. It seems like with most brands we are having to replace daily. Game console remotes, tv remotes, remote control cars.. you name it, we have it! These will be on the shopping list when we go out so we can get those long lasting batteries that everyone loves!

Forever faithful the the Coppertop!!
We use lots of aa batteries. Between TV remotes and weather clocks we go thru alot. I've always been a Duracell fan. It's a name brand trusted n true. I'll never give up my name.brand. all my friends know not to buy any other brand if I send them for batteries

I have tried to save money in the past by buying cheaper batteries, but they just don’t work as well as these do. It’s well worth it to pay a bit more to not have to change batteries as frequently. This is especially true when it comes to higher drain devices.

Batteries make our toys like brand new!
Duracell batteries seem to have revived my children’s toys and they sound brand new. You can definitely tell the difference when you have quality batteries like these, the sounds of the toys seems louder and stronger.

I got these for my son to use in his video game controller. It normally drain the batteries in a few days. So far we are going on 11 days and still going strong. By far the best batteries we have ever used. Will be using this brand from now on. I would highly recommend.

The longest lasting, most reliable battery!
In our house, Duracell batteries are the only option. We have kids and having toys or remotes die after a few weeks is maddening. If you want things to work, every time, don’t use anything else. You’ll thank me!

These are amazing batteries. My kids use these for their gaming controllers. And my kids game all day long!!!! They love when I bring these batteries home, cause they know they will not die on them like the cheap batteries we’ve previously purchased! These are definitely the best out there.

These are the only Battery I used in my home they last a very long time they are excellent and good quality and they don't over heat to burn out I really enjoyed this product .the other battery died out very fast and I always have to switch everytime and it's very frustratingId so I switch to these products long-lasting .

I can always trust Duracell to last longer, be a fresh product, and to work as advertised. Batteries are definitely a thing to not scrimp on and buy an off brand!! These last twice as long in my son's gaming system than other brands and are totally worth it!

I use Duracell for everything! Cheap batteries always drain so much more quickly and it's so worth it to pay just a little more for quality. Energizer is close in value but I've always found that Duracell lasts the longest. It's all I ever have in my home.

Great battery for all of our remotes. These batteries last a long time and even after prolonged unused time sitting in infrequently used items they don’t corrode. We also use these batteries for children’s toys that get used quite frequently and are occasionally left on after being played with and the batteries still last quite a long time. In another size, we use this brand of batteries for our smoke detectors and they last for years.

I've been using Duracell batteries for years -- they're the only brand that I trust. These have always been reliable. I just got this set with the 10 year guarantee for my smoke detectors and for my wireless mouse. Given Duracell's reputation, I suspect they'll last at least 10 years!

We use a lot of batteries in our house with two small kids. I am constantly changing batteries. These seem to work longer than the other brands! Which in turn saves me some time!!! Which is always a good thing! Highly recommend Duracell batteries! The only kind we use in our house!

With so many devices in my house, batteries have to be good! My kids game controllers drain batteries, they leave them on all the time. Tv remotes, used so many times a day. Flashlights are kept in multiple rooms around the house. So the only battery I will use is Duracell. Duracell AA Coppertop

Most trusted in our house
When you have kids obsessed with racing their remote control cars, you need to have a good battery on hand. We have tried other brands, but none last as long as Duracell. Not having to change batteries once a week, saves us money and time, and saves my sanity by letting my kids continue their favorite games

Longtime user "STILL" satisfied!
Have used this product for many yrs. and I would not use another. There are many private label competitors but they just DO NOT last as long as Duracell! I am definitely a loyal Duracell user and plan to continue using Duracell!

Longest lasting battery out there
These batteries are the longest lasting batteries there are I get these around the holidays to put in my kids toys my kids grew up on useing these . There is certain toys that need good batteries and Duracell works the best. I put them in my remote control and they last for ever. I have a lantern that I use to take my dog for a walk at night time and it runs through the batteries Duracell are the only batteries that last.

Works great for my daughter’s toys, especially her remote control car. We go for a long walk every evening and her little car goes too. Usually we’re replacing the batteries every 3 days, because of how long of a walk we have, but it’s been 6 days with this one set and the batteries are still going strong! Definitely sticking with duracell from now on.

These are great batteries and so far going strong. I used them in my remote which is used 24/7 between my husband and kids. I would say they are very comparable to other name brands. I did put the batteries in my daughters remote control car today and she played with it for a few hours without any battery issues. Once she was done they went right back in the remote.

Having 3 kids we have invested in our fair share of batteries. Duracell have always been the best and longest lasting if you ask me. We always have Duracell AA on hand because so many things in our home use them. They have the power and dependability this family of 5 can count on.

I love these batteries! They definately last longer than the other batteries I have purchased! My children have a lot of little toys that require batteries of some sort and I can trust that these batteries will last. I recently purchased this brand to replace the batteries in my smoke detectors. Definately recommended!

Coppertop Battery-Duracell
The Coppertop Duracell Battery is great for my nephews video game controllers. With the long lasting battery life, it keeps me from going out to buy new batteries. The product is also good for any other appliances or electronics you have. This is a must buy battery brand if you want long lasting.

Bring Your Child's Toys Back To Life!
You know when you have been using an off brand product most of your life, and then you upgrade to the real thing and you're sitting there thinking, what took me so long to upgrade? Yeah, that's what Duracell batteries will do for you. So much more life, the toy I put these in became louder and clearer than ever and you can just tell it will last. **Parent tip: only put these in kids toys that don't annoy you, because those exist *wink*

I have not had this battery in use for very long in our wii controller, however it has lasted playing games on it for the past week that the kids consistently are playing on after school and for the weekend. So far thru all that it is still working great!

I use this for my battery operated tooth brush. It has a long lasting effect that other batteries don't give you, causing you to run out of power really fast. I am happy to have these batteries and will now purchase often. I definitely recommend.

Duracell batteries are good batteries! Seems no matter what I use them in or what type I buy the Duracell seems to be the longest lasting battery and I have never had a Duracell battery to fail me. My kids use them all the time in electronics and toys

I have always had good luck with Duracell batteries over other brands. I tend to store batteries until I need them, so it's nice to have a long shelf life. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to get the most out of their batteries.

Giving a review on a battery right when you get it really won’t tell you anything. It still works but it’s only been in the device for a few days. To be honest, I’ve never used batteries enough to tell you whether they last any longer than another brand. But I’ve never had a Duracell start to corrode in a drawer after a long time like some other cheaper brands.

What I LIKE about Duracell are you can trust them. Often when you purchase a small appliance, they come with some un-known name batteries. Before you know it they die out. I have a battery tester and every time I check on my Duracell's brefore I use them they have always had FULL power.

Great batteries that work well in all sorts of electronics. I put these into a clock radio and the sound is great. It makes the light extra bright and easy to read. These are the only batteries I use and trust them to perform always!

I have several items that require aa batteries. We have used several name brand batteries along with generic batteries. I like Duracell. I feel that they last longer than other name brand batteries. I haven't had them leak or explode or any crazy issues with them :)These things are amazing! It's like someone figured out how to take electricity and put it in teeny, tiny cans! I just plug a couple of these into whatever needs power, and it just works.

My family has always been super brand loyal to Coppertops! I have been using them forever. I don’t know about you but I’m not going to put lesser batteries that leak and ruin my expensive electronics. I have NEVER had an issue with Duracell Coppertops. Morning only do they last forever but they have never leaked. Highly recommend Duracell.

The AAs I received worked as expected. I like the idea of a 10 year battery but I got a two pack. Nothing worse than heading to the bin of batteries only to find out they expired last year. I got these for a Roku remote and they work fine.

Duracell has great brand recognition. I think it's always a good idea to have a couple of extra AA batteries on hand. From what I've read about Duracell batteries compared to some other brands, they seem to have a longer lifespan and have better quality than most other brands. I also read the company just recently acquired Rayovac batteries. It'll be interesting to see what they do with a product that used to be a competitor.

this is always my go to battery for remote controls and wireless mouse they last a long time and they work best for things you use often i also use them in my kids toys and in our smoke detector as a way i know we are covered for safety since i know these will stay strong for long time

Best brand ever, will not use any other
Duracell batteries are the best batteries on the market. I am consistently using batteries for lanterns, remotes, toys, diffusers, etc etc. I love these batteries for both outdoor and indoor use. These are great to use in areas that are prone to moisture because I have found they do not rust or erode as often as another brand would do. These batteries are definitely made to last and they have a long life span. I really love how Duracell backs their products up with excellent guarantees. This shows me that they know they have a great product. I recommend these to everyone and everyone has the same opinion as I do. I highly, highly recommend, Duracell brand will not disappoint!

Long Lasting Quality I Trust
My son uses so many batteries with his video game controllers, so quality is veryimportant to me. I used these batteries in a flashlight, they work well , they produced a very bright light. I have always used Duracell batteries. No need to waste your money on anything else. My 2 boys had a lot of toys that needed batteries to run, they would use them for hours at a time. I'm not sure about the 10 yr warranty though.

Finally at long lasting battery!
I was buying generic batteries for my kids earphones and felt like I was constantly replacing. Finally decided to get these Duracell Coppertop Batteries. Wow the brand does matter! I've had these for weeks and haven't had to replace. Saving me so much money and I will be buying more for additional devices in my house.

Dependable for all my baby gear needs
I've been a fan of Duracell batteries forever. It's the only brand I trust to keep my electronics and baby gear going without having to replace batteries every other week. I never realized how many things required batteries until we had a baby. Since he was born, we have realized we need so many batteries. I like this brand because they really do last. I'm not constantly taking his toys apart and replacing the batteries. Dependable and long lasting.

I love these Duracell coppertop battery. They are strong and last for video game controllers. They last longer then other battetys. I would recommands these for all your gadgets. They last ten year on the self if not opened. Has too stay sealed too last that long. Its so worth it.

I will normally just buy cheap batteries. When I used Duracell for my clothes shaver, wow, what a difference. It ran much more efficient and the speed was really increased. I didn't think a battery really made much difference, but I was wrong. I will be using Duracell in the future

Duracell is the only brand I trust for all my office equipment. I know once I change out my batteries in my wireless mouse I do not have to worry about it for a long while. When I do have to change my batteries I love that I can see the + and - signs without my readers on. I always make sure when something comes with batteries I have my Duracells on back-up for when the cheap batteries die.

The DURACELL Coppertop Battery is the only ones to use. I have tried others, and they don't last nearly as long as these do. I use them for everything, from games, my fragrance holders that require batteries, my smoke alarms in my home, and all my flashlights. This battery last for a really long time and that is such a plus, and overall only a few pennies more then others, while saving money, since you don't need to buy them as often.

I always thought it didn't matter what brand you buy that they were all made in the same place and they just change the packaging boy was I wrong,this battery is all they say about it.I used it in my electronic devices and they lasted longer and seemed more powerful.

Lasts longer than other brands
Duracell batteries always last longer than other brands. I used these in flameless candles that automatically turn on and off everyday. They usually eat up the batteries but the Duracell ones lasted longer than any others I had tried.

You can never have enough batteries, they are always useful and Duracell is a brand I always try to get. I can't say how long this set will last since I haven't had them that long but with using Duracell for a very long time, I know these will last a long time. I put them in my granddaughters toy a few weeks ago and they are still going strong and I expect them to last much longer. These batteries are on the expensive side but you get what you pay for and these are worth it.

I used the AA batteries in my general use flashlight. The batteries work well; the light was bright while in use. The batteries have performed like new for the past couple weeks. The packaging is a bit boring; it lacks the necessary information to determine if the batteries are right for the type of product they will be used in. The brand is a well known and trusted brand. I will be purchasing in the future and I have already recommended it to friends and family.

I have been using Duracell batteries in my controller for my xbox and they last the longest when it comes to other batteries I've tried. I've also noticed that I don't get the leaking of battery acid that other batteries will drain if it's been in a item for a long period of time. You can't go wrong with these batteries.

Works Slightly Better Than Expected
I've been using this battery in my laptop's mouse and it's still going strong. It's been a few weeks, which is a plus. I seem to recall having to change batteries every week before I started using rechargeables. Would buy this product and use again.

This battery is perfect for those toys that seem to always need batteries. I put this in my sons drone and this battery has kept on going and going. So far these have lasted almost a month which is long compared to others that last only two weeks. Perfect for all those items even household that go through batteries. Exactly what you would expect from the quality of the "copper top". I am so tired of having to replace the batteries in my kids toys so frequently. Having to unscrew the battery door every time is very annoying. It also powered my wireless mouse for much longer than other brands.

I have always been a fan of Duracell batteries. They have worked well for me over the years, and again, these do not disappoint. As usual, the Duracell Coppertop batteries are great. I am confident whenever I use the batteries, that they will last for a very long time. My go to brand for batteries!
Duracell CopperTop alkaline batteries are the go to battery brand in my household. They are long lasting and power my devices great. I’ve never experienced any failures out of a fresh pack or even slightly after initial use. Similarly, I’ve also never experienced any battery erosion with this brand as I have with others. My smart tv remote requires two AA batteries and uses up a lot of battery since it’s constantly вЂrunning’ so to speak. Before using Duracell CopperTops, I was replacing my batteries about every 3 or so months. Now I find myself replacing the batteries every 4-5months. The longevity and dependable quality of Duracell CopperTops are what keep me loyal to the brand for sure.

Great Shelf Life and Long Lasting
Batteries are one of those staples that you don't need a "new" one of every day, but when you need it, you need it and you need it to work. For this reason, shelf life is an important quality I look for in batteries. These batteries not only last long, but they also have an amazing shelf life. These batteries also don't leak like other brands when you leave them in a device for long periods of time without using them. Don't bother with the drugstore batteries, purchase something with a proven track record that you know will last when you need it.

These are great batteries for the items my children play with. I used these in the remote controlled cars, the drones, and for the remote control for the TV. they are seeming to last a long time. I've always like the Duracell brand, but hadn't used the Coppertop variety. I'm glad to say that it was right in line with the Duracell brand. It's actually still being used in my product and doesn't seem like it will be stopping anytime soon. I don't even want to use a different type of battery anymore.

This house only uses Duracell Coppertop batteries. They are hard-working, long-lasting, and reliable. Can't Test 10-Year Storage Guarantee, Works Fine
I put these in our Roku remote (2-pack AA) since that is an item that drains batteries quickly, especially since we use the headphone jack often. So far, so good -- but it's only been less than a month. A 10-year storage guarantee is hard to verify since we use batteries constantly in this house with a family of 4 (2 are kids), but if it lasts over 1 year, I'll be happy! Product arrived in perfect condition, and expiration of March 2028. If Duracell would like to follow-up with me in a year or more, let me know!

I put these batteries in my Fire TV remote and it's been over a month and I haven't had to replace them!! That's quite an accomplishment, since I have to normally replace them every few weeks. I can't figure out why it goes through so many batteries but I won't be using anything other than Duracell Coppertop, from now on!

These batteries are great for devices that get a lot of use and will last for a long time. I am no longer changing the batteries out of my kids Xbox controllers every few days. They get used daily and these have held up for a few weeks. Definitely a great buy and I recommend using these batteries for all of your electronic devices that get frequent use.

Didn't last as long as I'd hoped.
I put these on one of Wii remotes and they were used exclusively for that Wii remote unfortunately it only lasted two weeks and we don't constantly play either. I would have hoped it would have lasted at least a month. However the remote works really well while the batteries did last. My son was able to finish and beat the game he was playing and start a new game.

Long-Lasting! And you don't have to rush to open!
These batteries are amazing! And the package life is really long so it's nice to not have to worry about it/know they will be good when I use them. This is the only type of battery I will buy from now on for remotes, etc. I can throw them in a storage box and have them when needed. Super recommend. This is my second time using these and have waited 6 mos sometimes before opening!!

Only Batteries that leak.
I have many brands of batteries, from generic to brand names, Northern tool batteries, Amazon Basics, Energizer, Duracell, etc. Over the last 2 or 3 years I have seen devices destroyed by Duracell batteries alone. None of the other brands have ever leaked, but Duracell batteries do all the time. I Won't buy Duracell any more. If you don't want to throw away your devices, buy some other brand.

9 volt batteries undercharged when package opened.
I opened a two pack of Duracell copper top batteries and got low battery warning when put in an answering machine. Put in the other one and also got low battery warning. Checked voltage, and it was 7.2 volts on the second one ( I had thrown away the first one). The battery had foreign foreign language character on it, looking like Chinese. I usually buy generic batteries, but got Duracell this time. Won't make that mistake again.
