Nice Bold Flavor without the aftertaste
This is the perfect stong cup of joe for a cold winter evening. It's a bit strong for me for a morning cup of coffee; however, this is probably the best dark bold coffee I've ever tried.

I can taste a hint of chocolate, but that might just be me. This blend is so smooth, you can use it at any time of the day and for any occasion. It would make a great dessert coffee.

A coffee that tastes like coffee smells
This is the best. This is the coffee that tastes like the aroma of coffee. You know when you say or think I wish my coffee would taste like the smell of the beans. I used to drink only decaf as my stomach usually is bothered by regular coffee -- it must be the acidity -- as this coffee doesn't bother me at all. The decaf Black Magic is really good too! My favorite of all I have tried.

I have always loved dark or extra bold roast coffee so when I first thought about buying a Keurig I was afraid I wouldn't have much of a selection to choose from but boy was I wrong. I love the Dark Magic Extra Bold and buy it over and over. I'm the only one in the family who drinks strong coffee so I get these k-cups all to myself!

Amazing extra bold coffee.
If you like strong espresso-like coffee, you'll love a cup of this! One of my favorite extra bold's! However if you don't like strong coffee this is NOT for you!

Bold coffee that can give you a 9 oz cup
I love Starbucks lattes so prefer a bolder cup of java. With that in mind, I found this to be a tad bitter at anything less than a 9 oz. serving. Good news is that you get a big bang for your buck...you won't find this watered down at all!

This coffee really lives up to its name. It is super dark and rich. I brew in the larger cup size as it is so strong. Great first thing in the AM. It does have a pretty strong aftertaste.

This is a very intense dark roast, as the label describes. If that's your taste, you will definitely like this coffee. It has an almost-smoky burnt flavor typical of a very dark roast and is a little bit bitter, even with a normal dose of milk and sweetener in it. It's not my preferred taste but I wouldn't refuse a cup of it if someone offered it to me in their home.

I love strong coffee but this has sort of an acidity after taste. But I will still take this over light coffee though. Just wouldn't get this if there's other choices of extra bold/bold coffee.

strong, bitter after taste
This coffee has a very pleasant aroma while brewing, but I did not care for the taste at all. It is definitely strong and bold, but in my opinion it was not smooth and had a bitter aftertaste. The consistency is a little too thick for my liking as well. This came in a variety pack and I personally would not buy it on its own.

Not for everyone, but for those.........
I have not found a coffee I enjoyed as much as Dark Magic. I now drink less coffee but enjoy it much more. I add a little milk to counteract the tannic acid that is in all coffees. This helps prevent cancer in those who are genetically predisposed; not everyone is. I wake up every morning looking forward to this coffee....it's the best tasting coffee on the planet! (Objectively speaking, of course! ;)

So, I'm new to Keurig and love the whole concept. Now that I've tried some of the sample packs this is my favorite so far. For a point of reference, I've discovered that I don't like French Roast as it usually has a burnt flavor, but do like dark, very full-flavored, smooth coffee. Dark magic is all of those things for my taste. I use flavored creamer and wow! Yum!

I'm trying all the different varities and so far Dark Magic is one of my favorites. It's a full-bodied coffee with no bitterness. It is full of flavor and very smooth. It's a nice stout coffee.

This coffee is not for the faint of heart. Its not that wimpy stuff you buy at a donut shop, this is the real thing. Anybody who hates this coffee is not a true extra bold coffee drinker. I have been drinking this brand for years and I never get enough of it. Lets put it this way, if you like Starbucks coffee, then you will love this....if not, then move on to your next choice and stop complaining!

This makes a great cup of coffee!I drink mine black,no cream or surgar and it's got a wonderful bold and appealing taste.I use to buy only the colombian coffee for my other coffee maker before the K-cups,This is by far the best.

I have been drinking coffee since I was 16 and this is my first experience with the Keurig. I have always bought the french roast or extra bold varieties of Starbucks or similar brands and this K-cup tastes just like them! Very bold taste, not watery at all like some of the K-cups I have tried. I will be buying these by the boatload! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is bc it is a little bitter, and I know some people dont like that, but I always add sweetner and creamer and its perfect!

I am new to this whole K cup phenomena and haven't tried many of the different flavors yet. I have tried Black Magic, Tully's Kona Blend, and Tully's House Blend. I LOVE Black Magic!! I am a coffee fiend (thanks to living in the Seattle area for 16 years) and I like it strong. I love the flavor of Black Magic, it's bold and flavorful without tasting acidic or bitter. Out of the 3 kinds I've tried - which are all very good - this is the most bold. That being said, it seems like 10 oz is too much water for this coffee and it's best with 6 or 8 oz. But it seems like that is true for all of the flavors I mentioned. I found a pack of this on a whim at the local store, but they have yet to had any more! I think I may be forced to buy it online! :) Yum! Love it <3

Wonderful balance and complexity
I was never a fan of the extra bold coffees, until I tried this one. It just blew me away! I do brew it in the larger cup size, simply because that is my preference. But its perfect that way and a totally satisfying cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Can't wait to get some more as I ran out a few days ago and am now going through withdrawal. Highly recommend this coffee to anyone who enjoys a full bodied, balanced, and non bitter cup of coffee.

I have tried nearly every variety of extra bold K-cups, and the Dark Magic is the one I must keep in stock. It's the first coffee I reach for every morning. Wonderful, non-bitter, almost sweet flavor that has the strength of a robust cup of coffee perfect to get your day going! Love this one!

I tend to like dark coffee that is not bitter. This is a full-bodied flavor with a bitter aftertaste. Having sampled it from the variety pack, so including light and medium roast blends I would order my favorites as Breakfast Blend > Vermont Country Blend > Dark Magic. Therefore, base your judgments relative to the other flavors.

My favorite dark roast so far.
Great flavor. Of the 7 or 8 dark K Cups I've tried, this is my favorite so far. Nice bold flavor without tasting burnt. I like to drink coffee black and this is perfect; doesn't need cream to round it out.

Make no mistake, Green Mountain Coffee makes a fine cup. At least as far as their dark roasts go. I don't drink anything less so I can't comment on the medium or light. Along with Tully's French Roast, Timothy's Parisien Nights and Caribou's Mahogany this is one of my go to k-cups whenever I order. It's not for everybody, you need to like strong coffee and as I was practically raised on espresso this one does the job.

Worst coffee I have ever tasted
Dark and extra bold roasts are usually my favorite, but this blend is absolutely terrible. I tried it once and thought it was just me because it tasted like an ashtray, so I tried it again, days later, to no avail; it was just as horrible and I ended up having to pour it out and brew a different cup. Seeing what high reviews that it has received, I am hoping that I just received a poorly roasted batch.

After many years of using a French press we were getting tired of the routine every morning. We wanted to change but were afraid we wouldn't be able to find a product that did the job and tasted like what I was used to. This one is a good extra bold one. it will put you back on your feet in the morning with it's strong bodily flavor. I did enjoy eveything about it except maybe a little bit of an acidic aftertaste that goes away after the second sip.

love love love this coffee!!
Me and my hubby LOVE this coffee! the keurig we have only has 3 size cups, so in order to fill my travel mug in the morning I have to brew 2 cups. This coffee is strong enough that I can use the same pod on medium and small cup size and it is still strong the way i like it.

Wonderful bold tasting coffee
This has to be the best coffee I ever tasted. I love my coffee, especially in the morning. The bold coffee taste can't be beat. After 20 years in the military I have tried many different coffees but I can't say enough about this wonderful coffee. Keep up the good work and God bless.

I am a HUGE fan!!!! I start my day with my Dark Magic coffee and that makes my 5 am so much better. My husband who is not a huge fan of dark roast even enjoys a cup now and then for a bolder flavor.

This coffee is drinkable. That's about it. It leaves a pretty strong acidic/bitter aftertaste. If you like dark roasts and drink your coffee with a lot of sugar or cream then I would say you're alright. Otherwise, I'd stay away from this one.

A good choice for intense coffee lovers
I had this coffee for breakfast and it was a good wake up type of coffee. It definitely had the bold taste and body I look for but there was also a slight bitterness to it. I will mention though that I only drink my coffee with a couple of drops of skim milk so I get the "full" experience if you will. I would absolutely buy this again, but I would use it more as a dessert coffee. This would be a great coffee to pair with dark chocolate.

Changed my opinion on bold coffee
I generally shy away from extra bold coffees. I drank them for years and it did a number on my stomach making me switch to light and medium roasts for the most part. I was recently given some samples of this blend by a friend and thought I'd give them a try. I was amazed at how strong and full-bodied Dark Magic is without being overly bitter or "burnt" tasting like some other coffees I've tried. I don't drink this all the time but when I am in the mood for something intense, this is a winner!

Wahooooooo! That's a bold coffee
This coffee is as described. BOLD! It is amazingly powerful which is great if you expect it. I generally do not use this as my first cup of the day but it can easily compete for second. Excellent for sipping after dinner with friends or if you need a kick in the pants for a late night mission. Not for the coffee shy or beginner drinker. Should have a warning label. :)

a bit of a buzz but could be bolder
In general I Like this coffee, it has some body and is less acidic then Black diamond. I usually drink verona or yukon from starbucks so based on that it is a bit on the med/light roast side. All and all it's decent coffee.

Keurig coffee systems & k cups
I mainly use mine for coffee and love the convenience of a good fresh cup of coffee with all the mess of coffee grounds. Always handy and very little care and maintenance. Only draw back is the coffee is not hot enough for me would loved to have had the opportunity to set my temp.

This was my very first k cup so expectations were high. I'm an americano junkie so I didn't know what to expect. Although it wasn't as good or strong as an americano it had a bold and rich enough taste to please the taste buds. I know it's hard to pack allot of flavor in a small k cup but as far as coffees go I will continue to drink the dark magic. I also use the second to last largest cup size so the smaller setting will probably be allot stronger.

Best coffee I have ever had!
The Green Mountain Dark Magic is so good. Even though it is definately strong, it is not bitter. It's smooth and has a great combination of flavors that meld into one excellent cup of coffee.

I LOVE this coffee. It is great black, with sweet cream, or even iced - there is just no way to go wrong. It is smooth without even a hint of bitterness and sweet without being syrupy. If you know someone who insists that they do not like coffee, brew up a cup of this. The smell alone should have them asking to try it.

I had received this with my Keurig as a sample, and remember feeling like it was okay. I saw it on sale at a discount store and thought I'd give it a try again. I didn't brew it on the 8 oz setting (used 10 oz), as I wanted to see how it held up to a larger size. At first, wasn't sure I liked it, but after a few sips it grows on you. :) One thing I noticed was the aroma when brewing--there wasn't one. Other blends, like Newmans Special Blend, smell delicious when brewing. Maybe I'd get better results as far as aroma on a lower setting? I'd like to try it on the 6 oz setting with some steamed milk. Curious if it will hold up to that.

Pleasantly surprised at the strength & body of this coffee in a K-Cup. I will purchase this blend again and again. I have been looking for a stronger K-Cup blend and I have found it. This review comes from someone who loves strong coffee...and i mean expresso quad strong!

A very good blend! Usually dark roasts are on the bitter side but this was quite delicious! Had one in my sample variety of Kcups when I bought my brewer, and when I had used it, I wished I had more!

I was looking for a new dark roast, bold coffee that could keep up with Starbucks' Sumatra and I haven't been fully pleased with Green Mountain Coffee's other flavors being so weak. This coffee is my new favorite! Blows Starbucks out of the water! I LOVE IT! I am so pleased with it. It is great by itself or with pumpkin spice or vanilla syrup. There are great undertones of rich chocolately flavors and earthyness that I love in a dark roast coffee that blossom with every sip. What a great new find and a great treat!

After receiving last 2 orders with the green labeled K-Cups, coffee flavor and boldness has completly changed. I am very dissapointed with this change and will not be placing future orders. Keurig has made this change without notifying customers who order from their Web site.

as close to perfection as a k-cup can be
ok, i'll admit it - i discovered & elected to try dark magic when i saw them drinking it on top chef...boy am i ever glad that i did! as a lover of bold coffees, i've been mainly drinking the sumatran reserve, but i was looking for something to suit my tastes that was a little more in line with the typical american cup of joe - as much as i enjoy the sumatra it wasn't right for me as an everyday drink...dark magic however is exactly what i was looking for - perfectly tasty, packing plenty of bold flavor into every sip, not the least bit bitter & oh so good with just a little vanilla creamer...time to order in bulk!

ZAP A DOODADAY! Energizing Cup O Joe!
This is a wonderful pick me up. For those who enjoy a stiffer more full bodied coffee. I definitely suggest this brew. Not for the faint of heart.

I can take one pod & put it through the machine twice, making 16 oz of coffee and the flavor is still great. We have a Keurig machine at work & this is the one I choose 95% of the time. The other 5% is when I want to drink the Hazelnut flavored coffee. This is my favorite of all that I have tried.

This is a fantastic dark roast coffee. We have had many that were bitter, not dark enough, watery, or a combination of all the above. This coffee is nicely balanced, roasted dark enough to stand up to creamer, and not bitter. Our favorite!

Not nearly as intense as described.
I am not nearly so enamored with this coffee as most people seem to be. I do not like and will not order any myself. The one good thing this coffee has going for it is that its flavor is not too overbearing that creamer cannot fix it. This coffee soaks up the flavor of any creamer very nicely. I even tried to give a box of it away and failed.

I purchased a sample pack of this as I was unsure if I would like it or not. It is on the strong side, but not as strong as the French Roast or the Italian Roast. A very good dark roasted coffee.

This is the one that I keep coming back to!! I brew 2 k-cups when I want a stronger cup of coffee but it's still strong enough to only use one (with more water). On top of that I drink my coffee black and it's rare that I find a good coffee that I don't need to add a little bit of sugar / maple syrup to balance the bitterness. I've also bought the 'decaf' version but haven't tried it yet... hopefully it'll be just as good.

Absolutely love DarkMagic!
I look forward to morning and a cup of Dark Magic. The aroma even helps me to wake up! I was introduced to this coffee at a friends house a few years ago and was "in love" with it from the get go!! She also told me that you could order it online and that made me quite happy! I am quite happy with this product, but have tried others also. This is still my favorite however. Thank you for creating it.

I love the flavor of this coffee. Really dark roast, extremely bold, yet very smooth. This is one coffee I definitely recommend. There are no cons to this coffee in my opinion. I can see why it is so popular. A must try! My go to choice 7 out of 10 times that I drink coffee, therefore obviously one of my favorites!

Fantastic first cup in the morning
The Keurig coffee pod machine is one of the greatest items invented. You always have a fresh cup of coffee for your guests and yourself. I enjoyed trying all the different coffees then after finding the coffee that best suited me, I look forward everyday to every fresh cup. We just had a family reunion, 5 out of 22 people left telling me they planned on purchasing the Keurig coffee pod machine.

I rise, drink 32-44 ozs. of water and then I relax with my all time favorite, Dark Magic. I have tried alot of coffee's some good but none can touch this, it hits my palate just right. Nothing is bad about this coffee, my kitchen smells good and my day is started off on the right path.. Tks,

Great feel and great taste.
Tried the sample 5-pack and loved it. The coffee is dark but it is very balanced and not at all bitter. There is also little to no acidity feel in the cups. I was more than happy with the taste and will definitely recommend it to anyone who loves masterfully blended coffee.

Was an old favorite, now...
This coffee used to be my absolute favorite! I got it two years ago when I first got my keurig and was in love and bought it regularly. Recently I bought it and now it is not as flavorful, bold or rich... I even tried five more the next few mornings and still same blah flavor. Just like a plain cup of coffee for me. Hate the new flavor change. Won't be buying it anymore.

Tastes like burnt microwave coffee.
I used the top setting on our K45. I think it's almost 8 oz. Smell was terrible. Added a little fresh half and half and 1 spoon of sugar to try to improve it.....it got worse. My machine is clean. The filter is about 3 weeks old. We run a "clean cycle" after every two K cups. Our water is filtered out of the faucet. It's definitely the coffee. and no...the coffee is not old. If you buy this, you better like strong, bitter coffee. I traded a couple k cups to try this...bad trade.

When we first got our Keurig we were disappointed in the coffee selection. They were weak and watery (especially the flavored ones), and I began to regret buying the system. Than we found Dark Magic. It's strong without being unpleasent. I detect a slight nuttyness to it that I really love. We have since found other brands and flavors that are OK, but we always have Dark Magic in the house.

This is SO good! I was surprised, as some called it bitter, and I don't taste any bitterness at all. It's nice and strong...I drink it with creamer but no sugar. The slight bit of sweetness in the creamer gives it a perfect balance.

I use this coffee all the time and since I like strong coffee. Many stronger brews are to expensive for me since I drink a lot of coffee. This works for me. I use real cream and no sugar. I love the taste. I will say it is a luxury for me as I am retired. Well worth it.

Losing it's bold taste????
I USED to really enjoy this coffee, but lately it seems to be much weaker tasting. I have been using 2 Kcups and less water on the smallest setting to achieve the same taste. I will stop using this because it is to expensive to have to double cost each cup.

I like to judge coffee by tasting it black. The coffee description is correct. Use with milk and cream, although it still has a what I call a dirty after taste. I do enjoy bold flavor and dark coffee, however I wonder if this is like many hot sauces on the market- hot to just be ridiculous. This seems to be "dark" to prove how dark it can be.

This taste more like a strong cheap bitter coffee. I was expecting an extra bold smooth flavor. Very disappointed. If you like strong coffee with a bitter bite to it then you will love this. I prefer bold and smooth.

Awesome flavor & really strong!
I've been drinking this flavor of Keurig ever since we got the Brewer several years ago. I've tried several others, but this one is my favorite by far! Now, my husband and I have chosen our favorites (his is Double Black Diamond). I am on a lot of medications that leave me quite drowsy, however 1-2 cups of this to get my day started & im up ready to go!

Dark Magic coffee has a great taste. My husband likes his coffee not so strong. I like my coffee strong. So when I started drinking Dark Magic I found it to have a bold flavor and my husband liked it. That is why I live this coffee

As always Green Mountain Coffees impress. I love Green Mountain Coffees. They are Roasted and blended to absolute perfection. Their Aroma touches the Senses and soothes any Palate. Absolutely the best. My only wish is that they bring back Jamaica Blue Mountain Select I miss that.

I have been drinking Dark Magic for a long time. I have tried other brands but always come back to Green Mountain. No more trying other brands, sticking with GM!

I enjoy a strong cup of coffee in the morning so I always buy a dark roast. I've tried several different brands but Green Mountain Dark Magic is by far the best!

Love that Dark Roast Coffee
I have tried many dark roast coffees and none of them match up to Dark Magic. I continue to go back to Dark Magic, as it is the best, and I am glad I bought a bunch so I can continue to enjoy this great coffee.

Green Mountain is known for great coffee. I like the dark roast coffees such as Italian and French roasts. This is a good flavor.

Great flavor...great coffee
I’ve come to enjoy the robust flavor of Dark Magic coffee. I especially like the fact that I can make a fresh cup any time I please.

Decent Caffeine but That Taste Though!
The caffeine boost from the extra dark roast is great, but if you don't add enough sweetener and half & half (or whatever you prefer instead), it'll taste like you're sipping on a cup of dirt. Not sure if it's from their roasting process or the beans they've chosen. Ethier way, when sweetened and lightened just right, it makes for a decent cup of coffee.

This Dark Magic dark roast is soooo good. The flavor doesn't get drowned if cream is added.

On the Dark Side... Great Coffees
Ordered five dark roast varieties = Dark Magic, Sumatran Reserve, French Roast, .Lake & Lodge and Double Diamond All are outstanding quality. Green Mountain varieties are a favorite choice.
