Awful and very hard to open?
These are not "easy open" as they say. It is very hard to open. A person with arthritis could not open them. Once you do get it opened, if you're not careful the bag will tear because you have to pull so hard, and you have to get another one. Waste of money. I will be purchasing from another bag maker.

I really like the new design with the added lip/tab on the bag easy to open and close - best zip out there. Easy to see when sealed correctly & zip and keeps air out. I reuse several times without it ripping or tearing, very strong plastic. Ziploc has the best zip lock out there.

My chance to rate Ziploc Storage Bags!
I was pleasantly surprised by how handy these Ziplock bags were. I used them for practically everything from packing full of grapes to filling them up with cut up veggies to have handy for snacking. I will continue to use these Ziplock storage bags even after this box is long gone. Thank you allowing me to try these out and evaluate them.

I use Ziploc bags for everything! Marinating meats, breading chicken, storing household items and they are recyclable if they are not too dirty.

Love all the ziploc bags!
I like the new additional feature of this bag, a tab at the opening, so I don't keep scrambling to try to open the bag. It seems to be a great idea!

I have been using Ziploc storage and freezer bags for many years and have always been a satisfied customer. My only suggestion would be that I wish they had a super thick freezer bag for freezing shrimp. The shrimp tails of fresh shrimp are relatively sharp and will penetrate freezer bags, therefore making freezing of them difficult. But other than that one suggestion, I have and will continue to use Ziploc brand bags.

I received these sample of bags about 2 weeks ago and they are very strong, the sliding clasp is very sturdy and large enough to hold a great amount.

These Bags Are FABULOUS!!!
I cannot say enough nice things about Ziploc Storage bags. They are durable and really seal tight to protect food. I highly recommend them!

I received the sample in the mail and used it to freeze some meat. I was happy with the results of easy use and how it did well in the freezer. I would definitely buy more to use.

I love the Ziploc Storage Gallon Bags. They have superior sealing that ensures that my food is always fresh whenever I store it in the bags. I love the style of the new bags they are great!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a pioneer in the "tabbed" bags! Many people have arthritic hands like I do, whether they are young or old. What a blessing to not be struggling when opening a bag. Keep up the good work. You're the best!

I bought a box of 36 Easy Open bags. Sure they're easy to open but my husband and I tried to close it for a half hour. Finally gave up.

The tab rips! Every time!
I cannot believe there are not hundreds of others reviewing here who find the tab ripping on the first try. The colored, extended tab is useless and tears away from the bag every single time.

Loved Ziploc products, however, the bags (gallon, quart, sandwich, snack) often won't reseal. The "Easy Open Tabs" are great, but the fact that we have had food messes and waste money throwing away bags due to this defect is frustratingId and annoying, to say the least. Don't understand why the double-zipper technology fails after opening the bags only one time. Heading to the store to get a different brand of bags to finish organizing our jigsaw puzzles. BTW, we have puzzles in other brand name bags that are over two decades old, and they still open and close securely. Just sayin'.

The new "easy open tabs" are a joke. They tear the moment I try to open them, right near the zipper, and then it's just more difficult to open. They feel flimsy. They are easy enough to close, the zipper feels secure. Maybe too strong for the tab. Needs to be re-engineered.

The new easy open tabs are awful!
I hate the new easy open tabs! They are very difficult to open and usually result in the tab tearing off and being left with a bag that is unusable. These are a horrible design!

The Ziploc Easy Open Tabs bags do not offer the same quality as the regular Ziploc bags. Both the quart-sized and sandwich bag seams split upon opening them, and the bags leak. I have always marinated a whole chicken in a gallon-sized bag, and have been able to turn it upside down to move the marinade through to coat the chicken. I was unable to do this successfully with the gallon-sized Easy Open Tab bag because the marinade leaked through the opening. I hope SC Johnson considers nixing this Ziploc bag and goes back to the tried and true.

Newly designed bags, especially the 1 and 2 gallon sizes, rip while opening, won't reseal tightly, rip easily along the sides, and leak. The old bags could be opened again and again and reused multiple times. Bring back the old design bags.

Hate the Easy Open Pink top Bags
Have used Ziploc gallon storage bags for years. When you first released the easy open bags they worked great. Now the last three boxes I purchased the top rips off before I can open the bag to use it. Not only very frustratingId but expensive because I have frequently have to use a second bag. So double the cost to store the leftovers.

I have been a user of zip locks for 20 years. Never had an issue until now. I purchased a case of the gallon size bags a month ago and the bags are terrible! I have thrown out one of the boxes already because the bags are tearing in the corner near the zip on the seam. I had my wife and daughter try to open them as well and they had the same problem. To me, it is a quality issue.

Ziploc has changed their "zipper" feature and the the baggies that I purchased (sandwich and gallon size) this past month do NOT hold their seal. It is hard to tell when they're actually "zipped", and they do NOT stay closed. Very disappointing. Not sure if it's their way of getting everyone to purchase their more expensive product.

Worst bags ever. Can't open it without the easy open strip tearing off. Every single bag out of the box is ripped before I even get it open to use it. Horrible idea. Plastic isn't strong enough to open the zipper. Very disappointed.

The bags are smaller and not as strong as they used to be.
These bags are nowhere near as big as they used to be. They have reduced the size by at least 20%. Also, I put meat in the bag to marinate. The bag promptly ripped down the side. There is nowhere near as much resin in these bags as there used to be. Quite unfortunate.

As a former biology teacher, I remember when an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper would fit nicely into a 1 gallon Ziploc bag...this was great for messy experiments and keeping lab papers dry. I've been an administrator for the past 18 years and someplace in that time the 1 gallon bag changed! WHY?

Purchased box of 66 gal bags. EVERY ONE has ripped. Clearly, I'm not the only consumer with this experience. Brand loyality only goes so far when there are product quality issues. Johnson Co. Are you listening?

We have been using ziploc freezer storage bags for years. They were always durable and most times reusable as well. The last two purchases of the gallon and quart bags were sub-par. Bags ripped or were easily punctured (not good when defrosting frozen fruit or anything else for that matter). Many of the bags were unusable from the start due to the tabs ripping while others ripped later when opening them after storage. Very disappointed.

forget buying this product
I never thought I would be leaving a review for ziplock bags! But I had to came to complain about the seal on these bags. Bought a box of 38, and maybe 1 or 2 didn't tear when I opened them. What a waste! :(

EVERY bag difficult to close
Like every other manufacturer, you decided to re-invent the wheel. You had a great product...operative word, HAD. Thankfully your bags are still thick and durable. The new tab and zip, almost NEVER close properly. Fortunately for you I still buy them for the gauge of plastic. Unfortunately, that's the only reason. So you get 'ONE' star and I'll recommend with a caveat.
