The solution for streaming in our home.
I got this router today and had it hooked up to replace my old router in about 15 minutes.  Set up is a breeze, what took the most time was resetting all our device auto sign on for wifi.  First thing I noticed was increased speed at the desktop, we noticed the same thing with all our laptops.  Now the big benefit was when I got the TV sign in updated and checked video streaming.  This had been a major disappointment in the past but with this router, I had no delays or buffering and later when I was streaming a movie in the office, I had my husband check to see if I was creating any issues for him with his laptop.  It was great for both of us unlike the old system where I had to stop streaming if he wanted to download something or work on his laptop.  I couldn't be happier.

    The Fastest WiFi Router
Compared to the Apple Airport Extreme way way faster in terms of speed and super reliable in regards to connectivity. The entire setup process was super simple that I was amazed to see how quickly the unit was able to operate.

    Nice and easy setup
I've only had this for a week now. But the setup was very easy. I have 2 smart hubs for lights and security + streaming to the TV and haven't a single problem. It has a nice app that you can manage the router with your cell phone also.

    Really fast WiFi.
This router is in use to provide a network for a half dozen Windows 10 devices,  one XP device and one Windows 7 device.\
    \
Setup was a matter of plugging in the cables and turning the router on.  The router did all the work except for naming the two networks and entering the keys (passwords).  Of course I had to select the new network and enter the key in each of the devices in the house that communicate by WiFi, but that was easy too.  I did forget my WiFi printer, until I tried to print from a laptop, but setting that up was straightforward also.  There was a short run-in period but the beamforming quickly focused on the devices around the house and transmission speeds quickly rose.  \
    \
I used a network USB 3.0 hard drive and a network eSATA hard drive with the WRT1900AC but now I was connecting to the EA8300 so my next step was to disconnect the mappings for the attached hard drives from each device and re-map the new router's name and the attached hard drive in the Network page on each device .  That was also expected and was easy.  In all there were a half dozen devices to make new configuration on and the whole setup took about half an hour.\
    \
This router replaced a very capable WRT1900AC so I had some adjustments to make.  I was using two network drives with the old router by using both its USB 3.0 and combo (USB 2.0/eSATA) ports.  The EA8300 does not provide a combo port so now I am relying on just one network drive.  Since there was plenty of available storage spread across the two drives, it was not an inconvenience to consolidate files onto the one drive and do the re-mapping.\
    \
Transmission speeds are very high and so far there have not been any drop-outs.  For example, my Surface Pro 4 is showing a steady 867 MB/s in the Network and Sharing Center.  That is about the same as with the WRT1900AC but there have not been any of the occasional drop-offs or variations in speed that I saw with the old router now that the EA8300 is in place.  \
    \
The old school way of doing things was to have devices with operational lights on the front for everything.  The EA8300 does not have these.  I quickly adjusted to that change and now feel the lights on the WRT1900AC simply indicated issues I already was aware of from performance on any of the networked devices, so I don't miss the lights.  \
    \
There are two primary users of all our devices and the ability to carry a tablet from one room to another without have to change the network login to maintain signal strength is a real boon.\
    \
I highly recommend this router, especially for its MU-MIMO and tri-band features.  It is a super enhancement to our network in our two-person home.

Great for use with multiple Wi-Fi devices
Let me start by listing the Wii-Fi devices we use in our home - 4 Smart TV's - 4 Roku Sticks - 2 PC's - 2 Echo Dots - 2 Iphones - 2 Ipads and a few other devices.  I am replacing a fairly new router.  I also use a Wi-Fi extender and a power line set up.  My incoming broadband speed is 150MB but I still have a lot of buffering on my devices and a lot of dead spots in an old 3 story brick home.  After a very easy set up of the new router I can now remove both my extender and power line setup.  In the immediate area of the router, I am getting about 80MB on devices. In the furtherest room on the 2nd floor of the home, I am getting about 20MB and about the same speed outside my home within a 100 foot radius of the building. I would highly recommend this to anybody who has experienced similar problems in an older home.

    EA8300 Max-Stream
Easy set up for the younger set\
    BUT\
difficult for those "older baby boomer", the password provided was all in lower case letters - all run together. is it an "l n" or "h", separatingId the letters would be easier to read.\

Once set up,  the unit works well

Very Smooth and Powerful Wireless Router!
I received this wireless router for free in exchange for an honest review.  I found this router easy to install and setup.  It took about 15 minutes for the router itself connected to my main computer.  It probably took an hour overall to connect to all my other devices, 2 cell phones, 2 wireless printers, and 2 other wireless computers (1 laptop and 1 desktop).  I have found this router to be a big improvement over my older wireless router (roughly 7 years old).  It's is much more powerful in terms of range and whole house and outside patio coverage.  It operates very smoothly with great coverage.  No glitches or other problems at all.  I highly recommend the Linksys EA8300 wireless router for ease of installation, operation and signal power.

    EA8300 - Best Router Ever
I recently replaced my old dual band router with a Linksys EA8300 Max Stream Tri Band WI FI Router. This router has a lot of great features that makes it the best router that I owned.  These features include easy setup, network reliability, increased wireless range, speed  and  aesthetically pleasing design  I was impressed with how easy this router is to set up. All it took was to  disconnect my old router, plug in the EA8300, open a browser and follow the auto setup instructions. It took less than 5 minutes to walk through the auto setup steps and get up and running complete with a firewall and an option to set reservations for specific IP addresses.  After the installation all of the networks devices were up and running without hesitation. The speed of the wireless device increased and remained stable as I moved in and out of different rooms, up and down different levels in the house checking for dead zones with a laptop.  The signal remained consistently strong and stable in every room.     \
One of the most impressive features on the EA8300 is the strength and stability of the signal while running multiple  devices.  I tested the routers stability and  range while steaming a movie, gaming and browsing websites on a different devices.  The movie streamed without buffering, the gaming remained stable  and the laptop functioned as it was the only device on line as I walked out of the house approximately 100 feet.                                                            \
The design of the router has a modern look and fits in into a home theater equipment environment without reservation.   It has one light one with the option to turn it off making the router un-noticeable. This is a great device and a welcome addition for a home network or home theater. The sleek design and the power of this device gives it a 5 star ratingId.

    Easy set up and use
I received the router in March and have it in constant use for the last month.with no drops or loss. unpacking and set up was a breeze. I used my Kindle to connect to the AC2200 and followed the prompts. The Lynksys app makes it easy to make changes. I do  not connect my electronics by WPS or by password verification to the wireless network. Instead I give permission by MAC address. it is simple to grab my kindle, find the MAC address of what I am want connected and selecting allow, save, done and secure. Also the software allows the user to give priorty to certain connections so video streaming is never "buffering" while in the middle of a movie. Lynksys makes it easy.  Range has been excellent. With the old router, I had to place a range extender upstairs to cover a third of the house (2800 sq ft). I no longer need the range extender.

    Easy, Quick and great range
I received this product free from Linksys to try out. When I installed it I tried using the outlet plug and connection cable from the old router I had. It wouldn't install. When I used the cords that came with the new router it connected easily and quickly. It was very simple to install and set up.  I'm not a computer geek so the easier the better. The speeds for all my devices: phone, laptop, iPad and kindle are amazing.  I can connect to the internet from anywhere in my house and back yard. There are no dead spots. I love it!

    Small But Mighty
I was given a Linksys EA8300 Max-Stream AC2200 Tri-Band router to test.  Before receiving and setting up this router, I was using a newer Linksys router that I had purchased – an AC1900 Mu-Mimo Dual-Band Gigabit router – model EA7500.  So, basically, I’m comparing two upper end routers.\
    \
Background:  I have Centurylink DSL C1900A modem – 20 Mgb/s.  I live in a 3000 sq. ft. quad level home with the modem and router located in the lowest level.\
    \
Things I noticed right out of the box: \
    \
The AC2200 was slightly smaller than my AC1900, which I liked.  The box itself, excluding the antennas, is approximately 8 3/8th inches wide and 6 3/8th inches deep.  By comparison, the AC1900 is 10 inches wide and 7 inches deep.\
    \
The AC2200 is also a little taller in the back, so you have a better view of the wires.  This was great for me, since I have my router installed with the backside out. \
    \
I liked the sturdiness of the 4 antennas. Normally, antennas are loose and require tightening right out of the box or loosen later as you move or touch them.  These were immediately tight and clicked into the desired position.  Multiple “click in” positions are available.\
    \
I liked the fact that Linksys AC2200 included an On/Off switch.  This was also a feature that was included on my AC1900, but it is easier to access on the AC2200. \
    \
The AC2200 includes an additional 5 GHz band.  Somehow I thought that it might show up as an additional choice when selecting from the list of available WiFi networks, but it does not.  You just have 1 – 2.4 and 1 – 5, plus guest choices if you have that setup.\
    \
Linksys set-up took very little time with no issues. \
    \
I’ve been using this router for 23 days without any problems.  I did run a test one day to check for buffering issues.  I had a TIVO Bolt with 2 Tivo Mini’s, and 3 Roku’s running 3 Amazon Primes, 2 Netflixs and a Hulu.  No buffering was detected on any of these devices. \
    \
It’s been handling the following wired and wireless products without any issues:  Tivo Bolt, 2 Tivo Mini’s, 3 Roku’s, 2 cell phones, a PS3 and PS4, a Smart TV, 2 DVD players, 2 printers, a desktop, 2 laptops, a tablet and 2 Kindles.\
    \
This is my 3rd Linksys router and the only one I didn’t have to pay for.  The other 2 were working when replaced and they were only replaced because I upgraded.  I trust the brand and feel the AC2200 will serve my needs for quite a while.

    Great Router!
Purchased this router to upgrade our equipment for streaming. It has met our needs, for streaming Amazon Fire, and installation was a snap. This router replaced an older Linksys router. This is my 3rd Linksys router. All Linksys products have served us well. We have only had to replace them when we required\
    upgrades.

EASY SET UP / WORKS WELL
I set this up a few weeks ago.  Very simple set up.  No drop outs of any wireless or wired devices yet.  I am still trying to understand how to make devices a priority on the wireless network.  But this seems to be a great router.

Following my order, the item was received in four days.  Set up was very easy and I had everything running in less than 30 minutes.  This included the R6400 extender.

    Great upgrade!
Moved to a new home and my previous router, an EA2700, was covering my home. The EA8300 now covers my home giving us close to full reception and speed everywhere in our home, very pleased! I renamed the wifi and changed the password to match the previous router, and we didn't need to reconnect any of our devices, that just connected immediately!!

    Good router, basic settings
Had a very easy installation, works flawlessly.  I would wish more advances parental setting to filter inappropriate sites for the kids on selected devices. In my view blocking several websites is not enough.

    Could be great, except...
I've owned the Linksys EA8300 for almost two months.  I upgraded from an older Linksys because I needed to support faster internet speeds.  I like the fact that so many devices can connect to the EA8300.  The setup went smoothly, as I just followed the included instructions.  It has been reliable and stays up all the time.  Connecting devices has been easy.  The coverage is at least as good as our previous model, but not amazing.  The mobile app and admin tools are good...BUT it's missing one feature that means so much to me.  \
The feature I need it to have is the ability to see internet usage by device.  Like so many other providers, our internet provide has started charging for exceeding certain data usage limits.  We have close to 2 dozen devices connected at any given time at home, and we need to know how much data each device is using.  If I lived alone, or had unlimited data, it would be less of a need.  However, there are four people in our household.  I ignorantly assumed that all wi-fi routers these days would include this feature, and was surprised to learn later that the EA8300 does not.\
If it had the internet usage tracking feature, I could give this product a 5-star ratingId.  It pains me to say that, because it doesn't have internet usage tracking, I wish I wouldn't have purchased this product at all.

    Fast, fast speed.
I bought this yesterday as I was having issues with my 2 year or older wifi router.  The difference between the old one and this one is the difference between night and day!  I can't say enough good things about the EA8300.

It would be great if this worked.
I've spent 2 hours trying to set up this router with no luck. I've rebooted and restarted everything, but I can't even open it. Whenever I type in the router's address I get a time out error from my browser. \
The support pages are terrible. I have 8 tabs open and none of them are helping. Some of them even redirect back to the page they originated from!!\
I'm going to try for one more hour and if I can't get it to work, it's going back.

    A Solid Router
I bought this router to replace an aging Linksys EA6900.  We upgraded to a 4K TV and that router was not powerful enough to push all of our devices.  I currently have 28 devices connected at any given time, ranging from Notebooks, Phones, Firesticks, Nest, Ring doorbell etc. and there is no problem pushing 4K video to the family room TV.  SIgnal goes throughout the whole home without extenders and we large one story.

    Keeps assigning bad IP addresses
Multiple devices on my home network get assigned IP address on a different subnet (my sub net is 192.168.2.x;  assigned addresses are 192.168.10.x).  those devices then do not have internet connectivity.  Rebooting the router fixes it for a short time.\
The latest firmware upgrade did not fix it.  I have version 1.1.4.191539
