Poor quality on new models

I have been using a Stanley tape measure for over 10 years and had no complaints. The one I had for 3 years finally broke and I recently purchased a new one. The new models metal measuring tape was noticeably thinner and less rigid. I was very disappointed and plan on returning it for another brand
