This HDMI to VGA adapter features a female VGA connector which allows you to attach it to an existing VGA cable that can stay firmly screwed into the back of your monitor, letting you continue to take full advantage of existing monitors or projectors without needing to upgrade to an HDMI-compatible model. This cable supports PC resolutions up to 1920 x 1080p and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. HDMI cables transmit both video and audio signals, but VGA cables are only able to transmit video. The back of the VGA adapter features a 3.5mm audio jack that allows you to attach an audio cable (sold separately) to your speakers or display so you can enjoy both audio and video from your HDMI-enabled device. Fixed a Win10 upgrade issue

Win10 forced a recent upgrade on an HP computer that had been migrated from Win8 to Win10 years ago. The upgrade resulted in the loss of audio options, and was stuck with HDMI audio to a monitor that had no speakers. This gizmo restored sound to a computer that had been muted!\
Also, had a widescreen TV that lightning had taken out the HDMI ports and the internet port. The VGA and audio ports were still working. This allows the HD TV can now be used with ROKU and other devices that have HDMI outputs with HDMI audio.\
Kept multiple electronic devices from the landfill!
