Trustworthy Surge Supression - Great Value
I have used the Iso-Bar Ultra surge supressors for years in an industrial and office envirnment. These units have protected PLC and PC equipment from lightning strike nearby spikes. Great hardware and always dependable.

Reliable and worth every penny.
An absolute necessity for all my electronics. I have gaming consoles, stereo equipment and a large HDTV so I need several protected outlets in one place. This unit is so solid in construction and performance that I have had nothing to worry about since plugging it in.

UBELIEVABLE PRODUCT & COMPANY
I have at least 4 of these in my home, have purchased them for the company that work with, & recommend them to everyone. It is not uncommon for there to be surges in our area that take out our phone and electrical lines. Tripp-Lite replaces the unit free of charge every time that it has been surged and is no longer protecting. If it were not for the surge surpressor we would have lost at least 6 computers, printers, etc. I am so impressed with this company.

My first surge protector, with me forever.
I bought my first Tripp Lite over 10 years ago, an Isotel 6 port. This is before the rampant availability of $7 "surge protectors" at every discount store. My first thought was "wow, this is expensive," but my friend recommended I get this model. I had my desktop and dial-up modem plugged into it. One day a couple years later, my computer would not turn on. I investigated and found there was a little bit of gray soot on my phone line port, and the protector was dead. My computer was unharmed. I contacted Tripp Lite with the serial number and they replaced the unit free of charge under the lifetime warranty. I believe that my computer would have not survived the surge that claimed my protector.
Over the years, I have gone through many computers and peripherals. They all get plugged into my Isotel. After a few years, the unit will wear out like all surge protectors do. When it loses its "protected" light, I contact Tripp Lite and they replace it free of charge under the warranty. Last time they even upgraded my replacement to a 8 port! The one I have is perhaps my fourth unit, but it is still the only one I have purchased due to the lifetime warranty replacement.
As far as the performance, well, it is a surge protector. It doesn't do anything obvious until it protects you. It's a solidly built unit with some serious heft. It sits solidly where you put it, and doesn't get all kinked up like the cheap plastic power strips you can buy at a discount store.
I can truly say that this unit is the only surge protector you will ever need to buy, due to Tripp Lite customer service and the replacement warranty.

Excellent Product - This product saves thousands of Dollars
I have sensitive (that means expensive) electronic monitoring, control, and alarm equipment at several different Facilities.
I convinced my superiors that we needed surge suppression for electrical supply and phone line connections to our equipment. They initially felt like the pricing for the Isotel Ultras was high, but agreed to order them.
Since installing the Isotel Ultras we have not lost a single piece of electronics to lightning surges. We have lost due to surges, many of the Isotel devices because they have worked properly and protected our equipment.
The Isotel Ultras have saved tens of thousands of dollars in repairs and replacement over the last 6 or 7 years. Customer Service has replaced each one with no questions asked. Good Job!

Tripp Lite is the only brand that I will use
These comments apply to all Tripp Lite power protection products, not just the Isotel 8 Ultra. I was in the computer support business for some time, specializing in home users. Based on my own experience, Tripp Lite is the only brand of power protection product that I will use on my own equipment and it was the only brand that I recommended to my clients.
The bottom line is that Tripp Lite products don't fail! I have seen surge suppressors from other manufacturers fail but I have never seen a Tripp Lite product fail and I have only heard of one that failed--a UPS that was used well beyond its rated life span.
All of my valuable electronic equipment is protected by Tripp Lite products, not just my computer equipment, which is protected by a UPS and two surge suppressors. My HDTV and my other home theatre equipment are also protected by Tripp Lite surge suppressors, starting with the incoming FIOS line that goes to my set-top box.
When it comes to power protection products, you never know whether you have a bad one until it's too late. I don't care whether a competing product has a more convenient design or whatever. I simply won't trust my equipment to anything other than Tripp Lite.

Don't be penny-wise and pound-foolish
About a year ago, our power company had a voltage spike that took out appliances and electronics in several homes in our neighborhood. We lost several electrical devices, including 2 badly blackened (scarily blackened) brand X surge suppressors, a garage door opener and 8 GFI outlets. Our desktop PC, office printer, and monitor were protected by a Tripplite surge protector and were undamaged (although the Tripplite unit's surge circuit was rendered inoperative#. After this incident, I improved our surge protection with 3 Tripplite surge protectors. This included an ISOBAR8ULTRA on my audiophile sound system and a second on my HD TV and surround sound system. These surge suppressors are top quality. For audiophiles, each of the 4 outlet pairs are electrically isolated, improving the power supply separation of individual components. While these are a bit expensive, the confidence I have in Tripplite (quality and long business history) along with the high replacement cost of my electronics make the price paid for an ISOBAR8ULTRA insignificant.

High quality premium surge suppressor
Very happy with my purchase, the Isobar 8 Ultra is definitely worth the money. TV and surround system seem much clearer. Picture and sound seem much cleaner. You will definitely notice the difference especially with a TV and sound system.

The Tripplite Isobar is the gold standard for surge suppression
This is the 8-outlet version of the classic Isobar design that I have been using at both work and home for decades. Its isolation circuits have always provided excellent noise suppression between the outlet pairs, keeping noise generated in one device from contaminating the power supply (and possibly the signal) of another. This product is also, of course, built in the standard Tripplite Isobar fashion - that is, like a tank - all metal construction, rugged and durable.
I am using this one for my audio system, and it is working just fine so far. The system seems as quiet as ever (this product replaced an Isobar6, since I acquired one too many devices), and I am confident it will continue to work. I have thankfully not tested it's surge suppression feature so far, and I hope I never have to.

A great surge suppressor, easy to use, plenty of outlets
Purchased this surge suppressor for the office computer and related equipment. Works great, easy on-off control, lots of outlets for everything, including computer, printer, modem, router, telephone, and more. Easily mounted on the underside of desk. Very nice!

Best Hurricane Proof Surge Protector I've used!
My original lasted for over 13 years and protected my electronics through four major Hurricanes with only the on/off switch going bad, but instead of just sending me a replacement switch, Tripp-Lite sent me a brand new model; I must admit, that I am still amazed at their superb Life time warranty and customer service.
There aren't many Company's that stand behind their products like Tripp-Lite does.
They have a a very gratefull customer for life!

Absolute BEST Surge Protector
You cannot lose with Tripp Lite! We have constant surges in my area causing faults on the phone line. This surge protector takes the surge and no damage comes to my computer or phones. When the protector has taken a hit they always replace it with NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I purchased my first Tripp Lite 20 years ago and when it has taken a hit they continue to replace it no matter how long ago i purchased it.

Best for professional use
I use several Isobar Ultras in my recording studio, where I cannot afford to take any risks with my equipment. The isolated outputs keep noise out of my system and the reliability of these units provide the peace of mind that allows me to concentrate on my work. Great product....just wish cord was more flexible.
I have a theatrical lighting company and we send these
surge protectors out with some of our rental gear. We actually include them in our shipping and storage cases.
Although the cords are very durable, I only wish they were more flexible to make them easier to coil in a small package.

I am a professional mobile DJ and have used my ISOBAR8ULTRA for a few years now, it has been ROCK SOLID! My only complaint is that the cord has gone all wrinkly so to speak, like this: wwwwwww. I could understand this happening if I mistreated it but I coil it perfectly at the end of each gig. I will have to call customer support to hear what they have to say about it.
A couple of the outlets have gone a little funny too but I guess that happens over time. I think the metal where the plug goes into the outlet to make contact has bent a little bit.
I would like to see a 10 outlet model with a 15 foot cord in all black. They would sell tons if they made one like that; tons...

I purchased 3 ISOBAR8ULTRA surge suppressors hoping they would elimate most of the noise from our sound room equipment at church as well as protect it from any electrical surges ...
I have to say after organizing all the wires from the 20 or so different pieces of equipment just before rehearsal this last Friday Dec. 7, 2012 - when I turned everything on and mics in hand and all people getting together with music WOW crystal clear - no more humming line noise - oh what a difference.
if there are people out there with any equipment noise from whatever (lights with transformers - like those flourescent bulbs) and/or anything else this is the way to go.

An Isobar unit such as this one protected my entertainment equipment as well as my family from a potential fire due to outside powerlines crossing one another. The Isobar was severly fried, as it did its job protecting my family and equipment. The Isobar does have a lifetime free replacement warranty. I didn't realize that as I tossed mine out, oh well. I did buy three more to cover my electronic equipment.

Your Isotel products, have saved my equipment, so often, through the years. We get lightening activity in the summer. I have never lost any equipment, connected to your ISOTEL protectors. It has been, many years, that I have relied on them, and you have always replaced them for me, because they intercepted the voltage spikes, to save my computer/phone equipment.

I have been using the Isobars for many years As a pro keyboardist I know that I have peace of mind when I am performing on stage.Everyone in the band is always looking to plug in. I always tell them to get their own.It is a small investment to protect musical equipment being so fragile and expensive. So if you are musician it is good to know that your gear is protected!!!!!!

Good filtering/suppression needs other improvements
Pro's
-all metal housing
-good suppression electronics
-good filtering electronics
Con's
-cord stiff (should have used rubber cord)
-makes a low frequency buzzing noise
-outlets are too close together for some transformer plugs
-no 10 plug version
-does not say country of manufacture
Seems to be a good surge/filter bar. For the price I think it should come with a rubber cord like SJOW, the outlets should also be spaced about 1 inch extra between each other.
The buzzing noise could have possibly been eliminated by putting silicone on the coils?
I would still recommend this product for someone looking for a decent filter/surge bar.
And hopefully Tripp Lite will improve these shortcomings.

Best In Class. Best In Industry.
I'm a college student studying Networking and Systems Administration. I know computer hardware and I know the importance of protecting computer hardware. Tripp Lite's ISOBAR series of power strips does an amazing job of protecting your computer equipment from damage caused by power surges. The individual filter banks also do a great job of preventing in-line interference from other devices on the same power strip. I trust Tripp Lite to protect my computer and server. I have worked in offices that put a Tripp Lite ISOBAR4 in each of their 200+ offices. Their equipment is high quality and their warranty is unsurpassed. Saving money on a cheaper power strip will cost you in the long run. Buy an ISOBAR.

Excellent surge protector...very well built!

I purchased this unit based on my positive experiences with TrippLite's UPS products. This product excels as well. You can also count on excellent customer service and when you call the company, you talk with a live person who knows the products very well. TrippLite also stands by their products. I have had a couple of warranty returns and they were handled quickly and efficiently.

We found Tripp Lite protectors after a different brand's plastic one caught on fire due to an electrical problem and began burning the wooden furniture near it. We like the Tripp Lit due to its excellent clamping rate and response time, the sturdy (non-flammable!) case and warranty. We have several models around our house. It all adds up to giving us, as well as our equipment, greater protection. After our fire incident, we recommended Tripp Lite, and well placed fire extinguishers, to all our friends.

Product is great, durable, and gives a decent amount of space between outlets for slightly bigger transformer plugs. Don't have to worry about it reaching as the 12' cord is plenty. The plug into the wall is flat and angles off to the lower right. You want the best - this is it. Period.

ISOBAR8ULTRA - I am very happy with
I bought the ISOBAR8ULTRA for my aquarium because I live in the south and we have many afternoon thunderstorms. This has always been a concern of mine because I felt unprotected with all my equipment. So, I finally broke down and bought a tripp Iite. I have been very happy with the product and had it for greater than 6 months and it is worked flawlessly. I would recommend this product to other users.

I've bought Tripp Lite products in the past because of their excellent products and reputation and, needing a smaller Isobar strip for my keyboards, etc. in the band I'm in, I found the Isobar 8 to be the perfect size. I've used it for many performances already and am very pleased with it. In my opinion, if you want the best, get Tripp Lite. They stand behind their products and their products are the best I've found.

I have been using Tripp-Lite surge protectors for years.
Our TV, along with its componetns, is Tripp-Lite protected. We have separate Tripp-Lite units for our desk, computer, and a stand-alone fax machine.
The units are well-designed with indicators that tell your they are working properly. More importantly, they do a fantastic job of surge protection. I say this because we live in a mountain community where we experience a high volume of power surges and outages. And we have never lost equipment that is Tripp-Lite protected.

Great product, except possibly for the switch
ISOBAR switches usually wear out.
I have 2 more starting to arc and spark and will contact you for replacement in a while.
It looks like the same type switch in the ISOTEL's but none have failed yet.
Other than the switch, the products are great and the replacement procedure has been fairly easy.

I have used Tripplite IsoBar's and IsoTel's for many years. PC, PLC, Office Equipment and Lab Equipment in an industrial food processing environment have benefitted from Tripplite equipment protection. I have had IsoTel8Ultra "give it's all" to protect telecom equipment from lightning strike spike damage. Tripplite replaces damaged or defective equipment without question - a rare policy, and greatly appreciated. My first choice for plug-in line protection devises.

We hired a TV installer to mount three flat screen TVs to the wall . The installer did not like the surge protectors we were using. He didn't feel they had adequate protection and suggested that I buy TRIPP LITE surge protectors, which is what he said he uses. I bought three of them about 6 months ago and connected our TVs and computers to them. We had one power outage a few months back that lasted for several hours and there was no damage to our TVs or computers. I highly recommend this product!

While slightly more expensive than other surge protectors, there is no comparison whatsoever to the quality and effectiveness of this one. I installed the SP into a corner of a large toolbox at work, to be used as a charging station and to protect a computer and test equipment. The simple square/rectangular design allows it to sit tucked into a corner neatly without protruding into my workspace the way many other protectors do, due to their odd shape. But the piece of mind this protector gave me once it was installed was the main reason I use Tripplite. I have countless surge protectors, (including a few very old Isobar4s) but the Tripplite Isobars are by far the best, bar none.

Excellent surge protector
I bought 2 of these surge protectors almost 2 years ago, they worked perfect. I later purchased 2 more for some very high end computer equipment. I have tried several brands, and this brand is the best I have ever seen. If you have expensive equipment or anything else you need to fully protect, I recommend getting this companies products to do so.

I have two Isobar8ultras; one for my home theater and one for my amateur radio station, KC2YRJ. I have found them to be well-built, rugged and totally reliable. The isolated outputs keep plugged in devices from causing interference to each other. I have yet to experience RFI noise getting through to my equipment, which covers from 30 KHz to 450 MHz. If you are in the market for a unit of this size and power handling capacity, you need to look no further.

Very "boring" product. Does its job. No excitement.
The Tripp-Lite Isobar 8 Ultra hangs on a two screws under my desk, out of sight, out of mind, invisible and efficient. It doesn't get warm in summer or have any other quirks. It routes and protects power to devices large and small without incident, beeps, or resets. It's definitely connect and forget. it should give other products lessons.

I live in FL where we have had nothing but thunderstorms and lightening this past summer. I was never worried about my TV, stereo, and other electronics I have plugged into the Isobar. I actually have three Isobar surge protection devices in my home. The other two protect my computers. I wouldn't use anything else.

Superior protection with great design.
As a Master mechanic with years of on the job experience I have seen the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to surge protection. I know they all look similar on the outside, but the inner workings of the Isobar 8 ultra give not only great surge protection but also good line noise dampening. I trust several hundred desk top and laptop/tablets toTripp-Lite surge protection. Not one has failed me yet.

failed switch again on isotel8ultra->replacement?
Having been a faithful tripp-lite user for over 20 years I have always championed/recommended isotel8ultras to friends and family. Design and features are top notch however the weakest link once again appears to be the power on/off switch which fails with regularity. The last replacement appeared to have a black colored switch which replaced the trouble prone white colored switch. As luck would have it the updated isotel8ultra with updated switch has failed me once again. I am hoping Tripp-lite will honor their warranty with a replacement unit which I just applied for. My suggestion is to stock replacement switches with fast-on connectors which would not only remedy a quick repair but limit costly returns due to weight shipping units to and from repair center. I try and limit the times I power up and down the unit however kids and wife use the switch constantly as they are "green" conscious

I suffered one of the worst electrical malfunctions a person can have, a broken neutral line coming into the house from the transformer. I had purchased the Isobar8ultra for my expensive ham radio and computer gear. The main reason for my purchase was to eliminate line noise on the radio gear, not something you find on cheap surge protectors. After the surge from the open neutral some of the cheap plastic surge suppressors that I had melted, it was nothing short of a miracle that my house didn't burn down from the surge. Unfortunately the Isobar was destroyed, but it did protect my expensive gear, and all of the plastic protectors in my house will be replaced with metal cased Isobars. I wish I could post a picture of the Isobar and a plastic surge strip to show the difference, I think others would think twice about using the plastic strips.

This power strip is very durable and provides excellent protection. After a storm when the power company connected a transformer wrong, my house was surged and almost all my appliances were lost. The power strip did it's job and gave its life to save my computer equipment. None of my electronics were lost due to this power strip.

Excellent Protection for Amateur Radio and Computer Equipment
As others have said, Amateur Radio equipment generates and receives RF and that can cause problems with computer and other equipment. I have an isolated ground receptacle where I have an Isobar8 inline between that and my equipment. It keeps the RF out! I also use a Isobar4 with a standby generator which keeps the line clean of noise and harmonics when the power grid is down. A must have for absolute protection of your sensitive equipment.

The library has used Isobar's for 15+ years and they just work. Earlier units were best to just leave on, as switch seemed to fail after 6 or 7 years.
Case is nice heavy duty metal.
Great warranty.
A few have absolutely protected some PC's saving a lot of $$$ for us.
You need surge protection !!

I like the 8 outlets, and the fact it is not all plastic. I purchased this for my bedroom for my sleep number bed. I live in central Florida, and we have many lightning storms. I needed my bed protected. With the high joules I know I am safe.

VERY BORING PRODUCT. JUST DOES ITS JOB.
My ISOBAR8ULTRA just sits under my desk, tacked onto the wall. No noise, no drama, no entertainment.
Oh, it has three lights. Yippee. They don't even flash.
We've had some power outages here with their accompanying return surges. ISOBAR didn't toot, buzz or whistle, and nothing smoked or smelled funny.
Can you please outfit the next version with a video screen?

Great product from a well respected company!
I have been using Tripp-Lite brand isobars and surge protectors for decades. This company is the best to do business with. The only time I ever had a problem with one of my isobars was when a power light was flickering and, after speaking with a rep. from Tripp-Lite, decided to send it back for a safety check. They sent me a completely new strip (and this was one I had had for quite a while, already). The Osobar8Ultra is one I purchased for use with my keyboards and other sound equipment that I use in a band. I love it! 8 protected circuits, lights to let me know if there is a fault and a 12' cord that can reach any outlet I need to get hooked up quickly. In my opinion (from years of trying various brands) Tripp-Lite is THE best company to purchase from and sells only high-end equipment. Buy it, you won't regret it!

WELL MADE BUT POOR RECEPTICLE LAYOUT
Tripplite has always been my number one choice for surge protectors because of the high quality of workmanship and materials used in these products.
The same is true f0r this surge protector.
Nevertheless, I do not recommend this particular product because both rows of outlets face the same direction which prevents the upper row from being used for large plugs if the corresponding area in the lower row has plugs in it.

The on/off switch breaks down continually
I am not the only one that has experienced your cheap faulty on/off switch.
It's causing you unnecessary expense and your customer unnecessary spent time getting a replacement.
I have your unit connected to a new 6 socket electric bar in the ON position so I don't use your switch to turn it on. What a waist of the extra bar.
What could it possibly cost to replace the on/off switch with one that doesn't break down almost every 1 to 2 years?

ISOBAR8ULTRA Perfect for Amateur Radio
I have a ham shack and work from home office with radios and computer equipment. Transceivers and computers typically don't get along very well on the same isolated ground circuit. Both have sensitive circuit boards in them and are susceptible to stray RF (radio frequencies), power line noise and surges, and static electricity. This surge protector has been excellent in keeping all my expensive equipment safe from the above mentioned hazards that can destroy integrated circuits. I have the 4 outlet model for my mobile operations and it works great as well. I Highly Recommend!

Wish I'd bought it before the Lightning Strike!.
People be warned, even with a new home, state of art plugs and a well grounded electrical system, I still suffered disaster from lightening striking, not my home, but, just my front yard!
3 weeks ago lightening struck my front yard. Besides scaring the peewaddy diddly out of me and my old dogs, it fried my old surge protector along with these items plugged into it, including my new Lenova Desktop, my HP all-in-one multi-function laser printer, my 10-key adding machine, my land phone, and my Passport external harddrive, and all the other 7 USB products plugged into my USB Hub. I Couldn't find proof of purchase for my old surge protector, so I'm stuck with replacing all these items on my own, except the desktop that still had a warranty.
My ISOBAR8ULTRA has a protection plan large enough to cover everything that is plugged into it. I plan on purchasing more from Tripplite for all my large home appliances. MY only complaint is the appearance. I Would like it to look more attractive in my office & home, opposed to looking like something I would place in my garage.
Hope I win the free trip, I'm several years past due for a visit with my sister in California and I hope it's good for Hawaii. We both want to go there before we die. But Heaven's problem a nicer place to go anyway. At the ripe ages of 68 & 74 thats closer rather than further.
Oh well, thanks for a great product that you believe in enough to provide such a great protection plan. Just pray I never need to use it.

Tripp Lite Isobar saved the day, when an electrical storm hit my house. The Isobar took the hit and save my big TV, and stereo system. Best of all Tripp Lite replaced the Isobar, with a simple phone call. Now I use Tripp Lite Isobar units on all my electronics.

Best. Surge Protector. Ever.
My dad actually purchased an Isobar back in the 80's and it is still working to keep home theater equipment safe from surges to this day.
When I was getting ready to head off to college, I determined that i needed to buy a surge protector for my laptop and other sensitive gear, the Isobar was the only choice. Now that i have used it more, i have noticed less hang-ups in my computer system, and less noise when i plug in a large PA speaker.
The Isobar is built like a tank! Sturdy, metal construction definitely proves to me that this one will last me many years, just like the one my dad bought all those years ago.

I have purchased several Tripp-Lite Surge Suppressors over the years. The only problem(s) I have had with them are the on/off switches. In both cases, Tripp-Lite replaced the units with new ones with no hassle. Just providing new switches would have satisfied me. They really stand behind their products. Great company.

Excellent product at a very reasonable price

An Excellent Surge Protector
After many hours of research, Tripp Lite's Isobar, 8 outlet, metal, model is my top pick.
Its most salient characteristics are:
a clamping voltage of 140;
a let-through rating of a 330 volts;
and a "ring wave let-through" of less than 35 volts.
. . . and, it has a 3840 Joule suppression rating.
All of these figures are excellent.
Many manufacturers promote surge protectors that accommodate cables. You don't need or even want this. A protector will distort the signal that the cables provide and also slow it down. Furthermore, those cables are already grounded to the outside.
Ryan, in Tripp Lite's Support Center, is great: very informative and otherwise helpful.

Solid metal construction. Long cord. Well spaced oulets. Only complaint, i wish that several if not all outlets were rotated 90 degrees. Many plugs, my phone charger for example is wide and covers up an unused outlet.

The best surge protection you can get
Isobar is the gold standard for power protection. I finally gave up on trying to guess if that cheaper solution in the store strikes a good balance between protection and cost and decided to just get the best. The potential cost of losing expensive equipment is just too great a risk. Also the cheaper power strips you find will wear out over time and who wants to guess or test when that will be? Once you feel the heft of Isobar equipment you'll know why it comes with lifetime insurance. For your own peace of mind and for your electronic's sake, don't buy anything less.

Best Power strip (box) ever
I use this product to protect my computer as well as my xbox, before using the Isobar, I had my old powerbar plugged into what i thought was a safe outlet, only to find out after plugging in my isobar that it wasn't a safe power outlets and through further investigation there was no ground wire installed. Thanks Tripp Lite for letting me know about my faulty power outlet!

Built like a tank / High Quality
This power strip is really built like a tank and you can feel it right away when you open the box for the first time. I bought two Isobar 8-outlet: 1 powerstrip for two Apple Imac computers and 1 powerstrip for TV, DVD, Cable Box, Cable Router and Apple Wifi Router.
It's heavy and very compact and it's not ugly at all so you can put it anywhere and it will fit nicely and will make itself forgotten. Look at the picture I attached and you'll see that it fits between two desks. I like the way each plug is far away one another which a plus since usually you never have enough space between plugs.
Most importantly, I bought them for the surge suppression rated at 3840 Joules/97,000 amps and for the Lifetime Warranty and the fact that it's built i the US. I'm very happy with them.

Am using this to power and protect high-end audio gear. Previously used another well-known brand which specializes in rack mount applications, until I noticed that its green OK LED was a bit dim. According to the manual, this means it's not protecting very much, but what good is this news to the user?
The Tripp-Lite has meaningful specs, compared to others: more detailed and citing the published standard by which it is being measured.
Before installing the Tripp-Lite, I did a dynamic range measurement with the older unit, then installed the Tripp-Lite and repeated the test exactly. The Tripp-Lite provided one more dB (C weighted) of dynamic range than what I was using before, so I am happy. It adds no noise to the amps, and it is a very reasonable price with a fantastic warranty. I had some questions about small details, and I emailed customer support. Received a quick and very helpful response within a day.
Don't know why anyone would buy anything else.

Solid Hefty Surge Protection
This unit has it all and is very well built. I am extremely pleased with this unit. It has plenty of space for various size plugs and is protected by Tripp-Lite well respected name. It is switchable and has some diagnostic leds. It also provides filtering between connections which is especially handy with sensitive equipment including audio equipment.

We were already using a 6-outlet Tripp-LIte Surge Protector to power our duo's equipment, but decided that we needed a few more outlets. Having had a great experience with the 6-outlet model, we decided to go with Tripp-LIte once again to fill this need. In doing so, we got exactly what we required: a quality unit with the features we wanted. We couldn't be more pleased. Personally, I'm looking to purchase another for at-home use. Excellent build quality. Cheap, flimsy-feeling power switch.
Upon receiving the IsoBar8Ultra and removing it from its packaging I was immediately impressed with its heavy duty, industrial grade build quality. This also included the very substantial 12' AC power cord. I already knew it had the internal specifications to meet my needs. -A small quibble: I would have preferred that the rows of outlets were differently oriented, with all the ground pin inputs facing outward. - I was already thinking about ordering a second unit based on my very favorable first impression.
But, when I plugged the unit into an AC outlet to confirm that the status lights were working, etc.. I discovered to my disappointment that the power/reset switch had a very flimsy, cheap feeling to it, as well as being somewhat loose and 'jiggly' in its cavity. It almost felt that if I turned the unit upside down, the switch would fall out. -In fairness, the switch worked as it was supposed to (and, no, it didn't fall out when I turned it over), but my initial enthusiasm was now overshadowed by the issue of the switch.
I first thought that this might be a one-off that got past quality control, and that I would exchange it for another, hopefully with a more solid switch. But after speaking to someone who recently purchased this same product, I found they had a similar impression of the switch. I then read a number of user reviews online and I came to the conclusion that this is the way this product is now being made. I felt that the power switch would be very likely to fail sooner or later. Despite the warranty, I didn't want that aggravation, so without ever plugging anything into it, I returned the item and got a full refund.
Unless there is something I don't know about this switch, - and that is certainly possible - I can't understand why a well-regarded company like Tripp Lite would make a fine, high quality product like the IsoBar8Ultra and compromise it with such an apparently sub-standard (yet important) part.

The Tripp Lite ISOBAR8ULTRA is the Defacto Standard
The Tripp Lite Isobar series is the defacto standard in surge protection. Going all the way back to 1996 and 1997, I can remember my physics class in high school and the lab department had all Tripp Lite Isobar surge protectors mounted to the lab tables. I liked them so much that I got one for my home computer back in the spring of 1997. Fast forward 22 years later and I've still got my computer, LCD monitor, and TXH speakers connected to my newest Isobar 8-outlet surge protector and it's performing superbly. The 3840 Joule rating will give you peace of mind that your equipment is well protected, even during a moderate to strong electrical surge. An integrated 12A circuit breaker protects all 8 outlets and shuts down connected equipment in case of overload. In addition, the 8-outlets gives you plenty of room to expand by adding additional electrical devices. The ISOBAR Ultra surge suppressor provides eight widely spaced NEMA 5-15R outlets which are arranged in 4 exclusive isolated filter banks to limit noise interaction among connected equipment. The only downside would be if you have to many DC adapters to plug in and that's when things can get cramped, however, Tripp Lite has a wonderful solution for that conundrum - which is the Tripp Lite power extension cords. These power cords will allow you to plug in those pesky "wall warts" and come in 1 ft., 3 ft., 6 ft., 10 ft., 15 ft., and 25 ft. lengths, respectively. These power extension cords are 13A and are made with 16AWG wire (NEMA 5-15P to NEMA 5-15R). Moving on, I also like the included outlet covers that are supplied with the 8-outlet ISOBAR Ultra surge protectors which gives the unit a clean look and prevent dust from accumulating inside the unit. Nice touch! Next, the metal housing is very rugged and the backside of the ISOBAR ULTRAs have a few mounting holes. This particular surge protector also conforms to UL 1449 safety standards (3rd Edition safety standards).

Protected my computer and a/v equipment. Fantastic warranty
I use these to protect my computer equipment and also my stereo components. They saved me hundreds of dollars during the last electrical surge I had. Toasted my surge protectors but all my equipment was unharmed.

Good protection, but it blows up internally.
I use an Isobar with each larger computer used. It has never failed to protect the hardware, but tends to self-destruct each time there is a major surge (which seems to be happening more often recently). I would much rather have that than blowing up my equipment, but it is still discouraging to have to buy replacements over and over.

Quality and Service rarely seen anymore.
I came to know Tripp-Lite products from a previous workplace which only had Isobars for the workshops, so I purchased a couple for my home computer, and entertainment system. I feel I've done all I can to help protect my equipment. Great company, and I'm very satisfied. I highly recommend Tripp-Lite.

I have used Isobar product since the early 2000's or so and have never had an issue with the product. It isolates frequensied that normally would cause bleed over from another piece of equipment. If your equipment is valuable to you then spend the money for a good surge protector.

This is a great product, very sturdy. I could not find a surge protector anywhere near my location that had a 12 foot cord. I am using it to run my new quilting machine. I also ordered 2 more for other areas in my house. Thanks for a great product.

This thing is a tank!
From the flat wall plug to the all metal construction, it just feels like this surge protector is built for the long run.

One of the few products available for EMI suppression
I purchased about 10 of this device for electromagnetic interference suppression, since I have an HF amateur radio. I also have about 10 ISOBLOK, and two of the hi-fi power strips, and Corcom wire-in suppressors in the electrical boxes for my ceiling lighting fixtures.
This is one of the few plug-in UL-approved products available that is specified for EMI suppression. It should be noted that there is a better product available for surge-suppression, made by Brickwall, but it costs many times more than this unit. The Brickwall blocks surges inductively, and does not have any perishable components, while the Tripp-Lite uses metal oxide varistors, which sacrifice themselves when they take a large enough surge.
