    good features
I bought this product after the battery of my old one (another similar tripplite product) that was 6+ years old. So far it suits my needs to protect my home office pc, monitor, and internet cable. The USB connection on the front is convenient.

The only complaint is the LCD display is hard to read when the unit is on the floor below me. You need to look straight at the display to read the voltage and icons.

    Great so far
I have to say great so far, as my local power company hasn't lost power to my since this device arrived to replace my old tripp lite.
Seems to do a great job cleaning up the power and boosting when my power company can only supply 117 volts as it's doing tonight.
I would like to give it 5 stars but since there is no software for mac os lion available and I've not had a power failure, I can't go all in, as it were.
Nice case, nice display and I don't really need all the extra information-voltage and battery charge is all I need.

    Best Protection out there
Have several of this model in our home. On two occasions, we had severe storms and this OMNI900LCD did it's job. Protected the computers and two of the units made the sacrifice. They were replaced under Tripp's warranty - Thank You for outstanding service!

    It worked for me
I've had this product for about 5 months. I paid little attention to it till now. It shut off at the moment of a power surge. I believe it protected my electronic equipment. That's why I purchased it. It worked.

Works great after more than a yr
Used to own the BR900 from a competitor.
Nothing but problems with them and decided to switch brands. (returned more than 6 of them)

This UPS has now worked great for over a year. This is used in a business setting and on the back all the outlets are being used. (printer/computer/desk fan)

I have definitely switched brands to Tripp Lite.

    Life saver
The Omni900LCD unit replaced a BC600, which was also a great UPS.

I've had this unit for about 3 years now.
Living in a rural location, the power around here can shut off anytime, but especially when we get a good snow.
This UPS has an immediate activation time when the power in the house fails or browns out, and gives me 20 minutes to get apps closed and the OS shut-down.
Also, Tripp-lite was very generous in providing a discount for the Omni900LCD, because I had used their BC600 for 6 years and am a longtime customer...
Thanks Tripp-lite for producing such great products...

convient LCD, nice compact footprint with decent runtime
I have used Tripplite products for years and had high expectations of this unit, they were met!! My wife and I work out of the house and I run 2 servers (2008r2 physical server and ESXi with 8 active guests), enterprise call network switch, and 3 printers. We have 3 of these now that have worked to protect our assets thru storms and surges. The LCD is a quick way to check power conditions without being logged in and runtime is decent. I plan on getting another unit to replace our last remaining APC unit as these units provide clean power.

    Excellent Product
I bought this product seven years ago, the battery went bad six months ago and replaced it and now the unit just went bad, so I was still able to purchase a new one. Very little change, I now have an extra battery. Seven years and it always worked perfectly 24/7
I believe, I can call it an excellent product.

    Good UPS For The Cost
I purchased this UPS a little over two years ago for my development machine at the office since I usually leave projects open (and sometimes unsaved) overnight while I'm working on them so I don't lose my place when I come back in the morning. In that time, I know that I've had some power spikes, surges and dips as some of the non-essential equipment in my office has been down when I came in in the morning, but my computer has always been running right along. The small footprint is great for placement under my desk, and the LCD readout is big, bright and easy to read when I need it.

    Solid Performer
I've had my OMni900LCD for about 2 years now. As a battery backup, the unit has been put to test with many power outages and provides the time I need to safely shut down my computer. An audible alarm can be heard from the basement to the first floor. The nice aspect of this unit is that the battery can be replaced. I had bought a similar unit from Tripp-lite and made the mistake of assuming its battery could be replaced and found out after 3 years, the battery died and I had to recycle the unit. Some of their lower end units do not have replaceable batteries, so if this is a need, check first. The LCD read out in front can be seen from a distance and displays voltage changes which is useful as well. The unit is not that large in size which is nice. One thing as a former IT professional that moved me away from APC units is that I had purchased a rack mounted unit from the company to have its battery die in short period of time. When I called about replacement, support at APC said the warranty starts from the day the unit is made at the factory and not when you buy the product. I lost of warranty time sitting on the shelf at a retailer. That is not a good business practice, so I went to Tripp-lite and have had good success.

    Great product!!!
Great product at a great price, too!
The LCD display on the front lets you know that actual line-in current, which is great to have. There's a slider to attenuate the LCD display if you need/want to dim the display or even turn it off. The LCD display can be rotated so the UPS may be placed vertically or horizontally - nice when placing it where space constraints exist.

    Worked Great During Power Outage
We had a severe storm go through Austin and we lost power. I purchased this specifically to keep my ISP internet and phone services working. I was able to track the storm activity via wifi on the laptop while everyone else was blind because they could not power up their TVs to watch the local weather radar. Good thing to have for alarm, internet and other 'critical' low power services.

    Great Product & Great Company
I have started using these units through out my company. The one time I had a bad unit and had to call tech support I was pleasantly surprised to be connected to a technician in Chicago Illinois. A rare and welcome experience.

They have very few controls on the unit. Just a power button, a button to mute the alarm and a slider to adjust the screen brightness. They also have a screen that pops out so you can adjust the orientation of the unit.

It also have a battery monitor on the front of the unit so staff and work into a power outage and know when the unit is getting close to automatically shutting down their computer.

The unit does not come with a USB cable, but uses a standard cable and will function without it, but will not automatically shut down the computer or allow windows to monitor it. So don't forget to order a cable when ordering this unit.

The unit does not require any additional software. Windows 7 can monitor right out of the box.

It works, but batteries run out quickly
I used this device for over a year, I thought the new LCD read out would provide me with feedback if my battery was holding a charge, it doesn't. The whole point is for this device to protect you in the case of a power failure. the LCD is just a nice to have. you still need to test your batteries to ensure they hold a charge. the LCD doesn't really buy you much!

I switched out to a competing product because I need a device that will protect me today, and when batteries begin to get weak, the new unit actually gives me battery health so I can swap out the battery before it is a problem.

If you need something to trust, the Triplite product is nice, but you should keep in mind that you want to test your batteries a few times during the year, otherwise it's USELESS.

    Working as they should
As far as I know these are operating as they should be. I purchased several of these to use in portable control stands so that we wouldn't need to restart the PC every time we moved them from one machine to another. The only issue we've had is the need to replace a couple batteries that overheated, but that doesn't appear to be an issue that was caused by faulty design (they were in a small enclosed compartment with no ventilation).

    Awesome Product!
We have (4) direct connect PC's in our house along with (3) laptops and (2) iPads. We use (4) Omni500LCD's to power them all. Since we live out in the country, power goes out frequently during big storms. All of our devices have been plugged to the Omni500LCD during the most violent storms. The warning signal tells us the power is out. If we still have our computer, laptop or iPad running, we immediately shut it off. We will NEVER go without this product being utilized in our house for any and all of our devices. TrippLite makes an awesome product and we always tell family and friends how the Omni500LCD is a MUST BUY!

    solid line-int ups
I've been using the omni900lcd for about three years as the UPS on my main workstation. Through major storms and minor brownouts, this unit has never let me down (unlike some of the cheaper "standby" units I used to use). The only issue with it was the initial out-of-the-box smell. I plugged it in out on my screen porch, and a few days later it was ready for the office. :)

Great device except for 1 thing
This is a great device and I have replaced most of my APC units with it.

It uses a standard USB cable unlike the ASA that have a propriety cable that is some times to long and in other instances not long enough. It does not require any thing other than Windows power management. No special software to manage the device and the system shutdown. Tech support is US based which is the main reason I use them. They are also cheaper than similar APC units.

The only thing keeping this device from getting 5 starts is that when the battery needs replaced the unit just stops working without any warning.

    Omnismart LCD 120V 900VA UPS
This is the 2nd of this model that I have purchased. I originally had two units from another mfg. but when the 1st unit stopped working, I replaced it with the Omnismart 900VA model. I have been very pleased with its performance, so when the 2nd unit from that other mfg stopped working, I purchased this unit to replace it. I really like the LCD display that shows the amount of AC voltage the unit is receiving. I also like the fact that these units are line interactive, which eliminates any lag time when switching from AC power to battery power. I highly recommend the Tripp-Lite brand that fits your individual needs.

    PowerAlert software is Java based
Once I loaded PowerAlert and discovered that it was Java-based, I suspected trouble ahead and I wasn't wrong.  The main reason I loaded the software was to disable the annoying beeper.  I do not understnad why UPS manufacturers all feel the need to include a beeper to tell you the lights just went out, but that is an issue for another day.  Quick hint: You have to switch from the "Home User" to "Business" schema in order to disable the beeper.

I have four of these units, which I wanted to configure on one computer, then disperse around the house to protect other appliances.  Windows 7 recognizes the USB connection without additional drivers.  But PowerAlert sometimes has trouble recognizing the device and may require a reboot or two.  Once recognized, the each unit with show up on a menu list as Device 1, 2, and so on.  It is possible to rename each selection with a better descriptor, such as serial number, intended location, etc.  I experienced a troubling annoyance that when I swapped USB cables, PowerAlert is not able to detect the changed hardware; i.e., it seems to display the stored configuration based on the USB port ID, not data from the UPS itself.  Another oddity is that PowerAlert displays the device serial number, but it is not the sticker serial number at all, but rather what appears to be the firmware version.

Use PowerAlert to disable the beeper if you must, then remove/disable the software.  It runs Java and other stuff in the background which is unnecessary.  I have been spoiled by Linux-based products with a web browser interface, so my tolerance for Java's quirkiness is very low.

Finally, I found the UPS to be a bit warm to the touch.  Testing revealed that it burns 17 watts just keeping the battery charged with no load attached.  A similar A P C unit burns 3.5 watts. (Side note: A P C is a restricted word--SMH).

    Works as advertised
I hooked this up to my gaming PC and ran a variety of tests. When I flipped the breaker switch to the room it performed exactly as advertised: my PC kept running as though nothing had happened (even at maximum CPU load). Unfortunately when my GPU went above ~20% utilization it started to overload and fail. This is disappointing, but I'll just have to try to avoid playing graphically intensive games during bad weather. It's also annoying that this package doesn't come with a USB cable to connect to my PC. The connector type it uses is somewhat obscure and having to purchase a third-party cable is definitely an annoyance. The LCD display is adequate, though it would be nice to have more precise battery level information. The product itself was smaller and quieter than expected, though quite heavy! Despite my complaints, this seems to be a good UPS for the price.

I can't describe how disappointed I feel about this product, it started making a loud noise in the middle of the night.. without reason - no power outage or brownouts - after several days trying to fix this situation (battery replacement, reset, self test, etc) I've decided to trow away this UPS and never trust this brand again.

    CONS
Cheap materials.. the front panel is loose and the buttons are super small and very hard to press.

    Best relationship value-price
The UPS is used for my gaming computer, to protect of the eventual powersurge and avoid inmediate disconnections from online sessions. The product has an excellent perfomance and reliability

    reliable and with replaceable battery
We order a large lot of these for our office replacing older units with no replaceable battery or with an internal battery hard to replace. We haven't had any issue with them in the last 4 years

I use this unit for modem and router to be plugged into so I always have Internet even when the electricity goes out. It is working great!
