    Love this tape!
When I painted my townhome I used ScotchBlue Painter's Tape and it was not only easy to apply, but made crips edges of paint color and was easy to remove.

    Tore the paint right off!
I taped the bathroom before painting and when took in down it tore the new paint off and the existing ceiling paint. I get to redo the entire trim tomorrow because of this...but with different tape! Will never buy 3m tape again.

    Not Just for painters
Quilters love this tape. We use several layers to mark seam lines on our machines, it will not harm our paint or decals. Many other uses that include marking fabric or blocks, we can write our information on it and then remove when finished. Strips of tape can be used to stitch a grid pattern on our quilts. We just place tape on fabric and sew close to edge, remove and reposition and sew next line. The only problem I have is not enought different widths. 1/4", 1/2" would be great!

    Disappointed in product
I painted my walls 1 week ago. Today I applied scotch blue painter's tape for multi-surfaces around the trim so as not to get the trim color on the walls. When I removed the painter's tape, specks of the wall paint came off also. Now I'm going to have to touch up the walls.

    Mixed results
I'm repainting all the rooms in my house. The tape worked well on my wood molding. I got mixed results when I used it on paint. When I removed the tape from a freshly painted flat ceiling paint everything went fine (paint cured about a week; tape stayed on about 1 week). But when I put the tape on eggshell wall paint the paint came off in 20+ spots. This was a small coat closet. (Paint cured about 3 weeks; tape stayed on about 18 hours. I painted the walls before I did the ceiling.) The tape that pulled off the paint was from a different roll; hopefully this was a fluke. I bought a 3 pack and still have 6 rooms to tape and paint.

    Would Recommend!
I painted our dining and living room using the Muti Surface ScothBlue Painter's Tape and the room looks fantanstic! We have crown moulding that I wanted to look clean and I'm glad we used the tape. I painted another room that had no crown moulding thinking it would be fine-- big mistake! I had to go back to the store, buy ceiling paint, and paint the ceiling where I messed up. Using the tape saves a lot of time and money, and of course, makes everything look the way it should.

I hate Scotch Blue Painters tape because it pulls the new paint off the wall and allows paint seepage.
I hate Scotch Blue Painters Tape. I wasted hours taping and painting my house with this stuff. In every single room I had to repaint, because when I pulled up the Scotch Blue Tape up, the paint either seeped onto another color or it pulled my fresh new paint off the wall. I would have had better results if I had just painted free hand. I do not recommend this product and I will never, ever us it again.

    Scotch Blue Tape
OK. So decided to paint my bathroom this past Sunday. Bought the expensive Scotch Blue Tape for the so called "clean lines" they promised. They make it look so easy. OK.

14 day clean lines remove did not work. I had taped up'd the ceiling and along the tile. A day later after the paint dried, today, attempted to remove the tape.

Well, the masking tape was very difficult to remove and did not leave me with clean lines. In many places, the tape pulled off paint. And I was pulling very slowly and carefully.

In other places, many times, the tape ripped and was VERY DIFFICULT to remove just after one day.

It got so bad that I had to get a razor blade and cut along the tape through the paint to ensure clean lines.

Not thrilled with the results. I am going to have to go back and do edging touch up which I was hoping to avoid.

Sorry. I don't know if the tape had too much adhesive or what. But didn't work for me.

Save your money and get regular masking tape.

    Great Product!!
I give this product 4 out of 5 stars only because the tape tends to rip in certain spots when trying to peel it back from the wall after painting. Only a minor gliche but otherwise works perfect!! And makes for great tape baseballs once we are done and we crush it all and put them in ball form! :)

    Perfect for Detailing
I use ScotchBlue Painter's Tape for masking off sharp edges and chrome / aluminum trim when detailing my vintage Porsche. It protects those parts perfectly from the random-orbit polisher, and makes cleaning up the polishing compound much easier. Highly recommended!

This product is a great tape for trimming a room.
I loved this product. I did the trimming out of our bedroom before painting. I did this on Wednesday, my husband did the painting on Saturday and Sunday. This product was easy to remove and not disturb the paint.

    Painting...Again!
Our home met the 20 year mark and we suddenly found ourselves painting each room over again. We bought the house when it was 10 years old and painted every single room prior to moving in. Now we did it again!! And we've couldn't of done it without the help of ScotchBlue Painter's Tape. I recommend this product to everyone I know who is about to tackle a painting project. It is so easy to use and everything comes out looking so proffesional when you lift it off! I absolutely love it!

    This product has many uses.
I needed a tape that would allow me to tape cords secure to the floor without leaving a sticky residue or looking tacky. I taped my electrical cords down with ScotchBlue painter's tape and it has working very nicely. It looks so much better that anything else I have tried. It is very easy to remove the old tape and replace where needed.

    This product is a lifesaver!
I love using this tape when I paint! Mainly because I do drastic color changes. The tape stays in place when u put it there! It doesn't shift around on your carpet. Every other tape shifted and I always got a speck of paint on my white carpet. Doesn't happen with the 3M tape. I also have textured walls, and it doesn't pull the paint of my wall. Every other tape I bought did!

    A God-send for a novice painter!
Used this to protect the woodwork and moldings as I undertook my first major painting project. This stuff made ME look good! No mess, straight lines, and clean up was a breeze. Wish I had this years ago when I thought masking tape would do the trick...and it didn't.

not only keeps edges clean when painting, can remove and reuse for other uses, replacing masking tape which leaves a sticky residue (e..g, closing bags, taping up temporary notes on the wall, etc.).

It will take me longer to clean up "bleed-through" then it did to paint.
Tape did not work at all! The paint bled through on every part I had taped. I am so out of my mind angry. The time it is going to take to clean it all off is going to take much longer than it did to do the whole painting project. I would have been better off using no tape and cutting in free hand. What a nightmare of a product!

    Horrible product
We have put so much time and money into redoing our kitchen/living room and now our paint job looks absolutely horrible. It pulled the paint off of our ceiling and walls. We now have to try and fix everything that they tape has pulled off. Wish we would have never used it to begin with. I would never recommend.

    Great stuff!
I've used this product for all of my painting projects, and it hasn't failed me yet! Paint edges have remained crisp without seepage, even with orange peel-textured walls. Removal has been a breeze; no paint pull-off. Yes, it's a pain to do the prep work, but with this tape, I don't have to worry about cleaning up stray paint later. So worth it!

    Safe on Delicate Surfaces
I am a teacher. I used ScotchBlue Painter's Tape on my dry erase board last school year. I created a couple of charts which had columns and rows. We used this for daily activities and to list assignments and information needed by the students. The tape stayed up all year...not a single piece needed to be replaced. On the last day of school when I tore it down, there was no residue left behind and it came down very quickly. I recommend ScotchBlue Painter's tape for teachers for use in the classroom!

    Poor performance
Bought a well known brand with a great reputation. Very poor results. Tape tore paint off the walls when removing.

I opted for the name brand - really discouraged. Didn't know this would happen until we were done. Very good quality of paint was used.

At times the blue tape can peel the sub surface paint off of drywall compound.
After using the tape for years I have found the product to be distructive. Do not use the product over painted areas that were over skimmed areas of drywall wall compound. I only paint with benjamin moore paints and I paint with recommended products. the blue tape will peel the paint and primer right off the cured drywall mud. very frustratingId that you have to go back over areas.

It really pays to buy the brand name product.
I didn't want to pay the price, so I tried an imitation product. I am new to painting and thought that by using the brand name product I was just paying for the name. I taped off the ceiling in my bathroom and painted the ceiling. It is a small powder room and when I cut in the edges, I got paint on the tape (that's why I put up tape). The paint dried and when I tried to pull the tape off, it pulled paint off the wall and the tape shredded making removal very hard and forcing me to touch up portions of the wall. Never again. I am sticking to the ScotchBlue painter's tape because it does what it is supposed to do and does not damage the walls.

    Needs another color
I like this product for paining but I also apply it to finish wood surfaces for marking and scribing. It allows me to mark the wood without marring the finish but the color is so dark it's hard to see a pencil line. I'd like to see a cream color option as is used on masking tape.

    Impressed with this product
I have, of course, used ScotchBlue when painting in my home but I never thought about using it for any thing other than that. My son was working on a mulit-media art project for school. He asked me if we had any of the "blue tape". I told him that we did and gave it to him. He began to put it on his art work with me freaking out and thinking he had ruined his project. He assured me it would be fine. When he finished, he removed the tape and to my amazement there was no trace that it had been on there. Everything he had covered was still just as it was before.

    Painter's tape rocked!
I recently painted my kitchen and used Scotchblue Painter's tape to help so I did not get any paint on the molding or trim in the kitchen. Not only was it easy to apply but came off with ease after I was done painting. I had full confidence when I was painting that the tape was protecting my trim. I had zero cleanup or touchups to do because I used such good trusted tape.

    Not worth the time
I used this tape for a bathroom paint job. I taped the ceiling, moldings, and fixtures. Upon removing the tape after the painting was complete, the tape ripped because of the force that needed to be applied to remove the tape. In some spots the tape stuck so tightly that it actually ripped off the top layer of the dry wall. I could not remove the tape around some of the fixtures and had to stick the tape behind them. The time I spent prepping the bathroom would have been better served using a different tape, or simply taking my time edging without using tape.

    Will not paint without it!
When you have a wife like mine, you get to do a lot of painting. It seems that every year we are going with a different color in at least two rooms. on original muti use
I have to admit, I wasn't sure if there was such a thing as a tape that would be easy to remove from walls or glass without leaving some sort of tape marks. After using the original muti use tape, I was impressed that it did what I read it would do and that was come off so easily and clean. So happy that I tried it and now will be a true user.

A Good Paint Job Requires Good Painters Tape!!!!
Even though taping out the molding and baseboards takes time (especially when you're itching to get a coat of Ethereal Blue on the walls), it's well worth protecting those surfaces with Scotch Blue Painters Tape. I tend to be a bit messy and it would be a nightmare to have to scrape off dried paint after-the-fact.

    With Scotch Blue Painters Tape:

The tape tears easily off the roll

Doesn't damage the walls, woodwork, trim mirrors, or glass

Is flexible to fit around corners without tearing

Creates smooth lines that paint doesn't seep through

Leaves no tacky residue on surfaces

Overall, Scotch Blue Painters Tape is a must-have product whether you're painting walls, window frames, or art canvas borders. I never start a paint project without it.

    Great for party decoratingId!
I use scotch blue for painting too, but many people might not think about using it for party decoratingId! It holds decorations tight, with out damaging the surface when you take them down! We also use it for holding signs and posters for our 4-H meetings and other school related projects so that when we have to take them down, there is no damage done to the walls! Thanks for such a great product!

    additional uses
My sister does an art club for about 9 elementary & middle schools in the area here (attendance ranges from 30 - 70 kids - depending on the school). This months project is a motif design of the kid's choice using painter's tape criss-crossing the panel pieces (12 X 12), and then painting the spots with various colors of paint. The tape is then removed to reveal an original work of art. The tape works wonderfully.

ScotchBlue Painter's Tape is my go-to tape for all painting projects! I love it! As an avid DIYer, I am picking up a paint brush and transforming rooms and home decor almost every day, which means I use A LOT of tape. I always have multi-surface tape on hand for my spontaneous projects because it helps me get a super straight line and I just love the results. Thanks ScotchBlue for making my life easier :)

    Winter Cabin project
My husband designs and builds portable cabins for hunting or fishing in the Northwest. Usually painted single colors, this year he allowed me to use Scotch Blue painters tape to make a faux log cabin design on the exterior walls. It has been a hit with everyone that sees it. I may have just created myself a new job.

    Does all it advertises
Just painted the interior of my house and used a number of rolls of Scotch Blue. Went on so easily I was concerned that it would be hard to remove after 3-4 days of painting but it came off quickly and there was no leakage of paint. An excellent product.

    Great for crafting
Easy to use...very forgiving. Wish it came with different type edges like scalloped or zig zag. Possibilities are endless! Dots, shapes.

    Work and has many uses
Works for protecting areas for painting, of course. Also use it to cover zippers on pillow protectors, to keep out dust mites. Like the bold blue color which makes it easy to spot.

    Made my life easier.
We decided to put up crown molding ourselves and paint it also. Using the painter's tape allowed us to have an easy clean up which made both of our lives easier. NO STRESS. It gave us more time to enjoy ourselves.

    This product is quite versatile
I have used the tape for painting but also for other projects. When I was starting to put cinder blocks around my deck for planting herbs I used it to show my grandson where to place the blocks. It is easy to use and easy to remove which is another reason I like this tape.

    best "blue" out there
all blue tapes are not the same, Scotch painter's tape is better than it's competitors. Goes down smoother, easier to keep a tight, straight line.

    paint my kitchen
my wife and I did some remodeling last year, we needed to paint the wall a new color, while buying the paint the saleswoman said to use scotch blue tape. It was the best part of the job, tape was easy to use, went on and off with ease and made the cleanup quick, but best of all made clean lines and professional looking work.. I will use this product each time I need to paint anything.

    Works on every surface
We have been working hard to repair and rehab an apartment that was totally trashed by the previous tenant. It has involved multiple surfaces and paint of every type and description. ScotchBlue painter's tape has been a lifesaver. I have used other products in the past and been very unhappy with the results. I can't say enough good things about ScotchBlue.

    Multiple uses for painter's tape
ScotchBlue painter's tape is my only choice for all of my protective household detailing projects. Of course I use it to cover all of my trim when painting. Last year I used multiple one inch sections to outline a giant heart shape on our bedroom wall and then stamped smaller hearts inside of it. (I have photos.) I use it to hold down glued sections of wall paper that need to be glued again. I have also used it to cover our new granite counter top so I wouldn't scratch it when I added grout to the back splash. Most recently I used this tape to protect the wood around all of my tarnished brass hinges as I refinshed them. I also have a very exciting idea for your company but I will only reveal it to your CEO.

    great for what I do
I use this for wood flooring all the time and it works great for keeping the plastic up while I sand the floor. Plus if I have to stain an area darker I use this tape to mask it off and I don't get any bleed back

    Should not waste money
My husband continues to buy this tape for my room makeovers and it always causes heartache. Never once have i been able to get a clean line from this tape. We have tried everything and even called people over to lay the tape to eliminate user error.

a million uses expecially for graphic artists
I invented a lifesaving product and i created a logo that no matter how i tried I could not get the edges sharp enough until Blue popped up. I traced my logo over a dark piece of oak tag and white oak tag and cut out a template and may i say the edges were razor sharp and it photographed beautifully. This is the logo i made using your Blue Tape.

    Scotch Blue Painters Tape
Don't buy this tape Its a waste of money, it Is the worst tape I have ever used. The blue tape should be easy to remove but this doesn't hold at all.

    RUINED my paint
Use this to mask off the painted area in my bathroom prior to painting the trim it has pulled the paint right off the walls and now will have to be sanded and re painted.... this is a huge mess! I was trying to get a good paint job and what I have ended up with is a total mess and several days to repair and re paint! Horrible product

    Worked Great!
I was a little concerned because we wanted to repay with a metallic gold paint a pole lamp in our living room, and also a vanity table and chair in the bedroom.  We were worried about the paint getting where it shouldn't be, particularly with the vanity table.   Well, we needn't have worried, because ScotchBlue Painter's Tape worked great!  It was easy to apply, and even more important, very easy to take off, and best of all, it kept the spray paint from getting on the attached lamps and the top and drawers.  A very nice job was accomplished!

    Worked well and leaned lessons.
Using this tape on interior painting projects for a couple of room paintings i have learned that overall this is a great product but has to be applied properly to prevent peeling of tape away from surfaces and allowing paint to get underneath or totally past the tape.  Peeling the tape can be an issue also once the job is done but is more of a nuisance than a major issue.  Overall the tape performed excellent but make sure you take your time when prepping the surface you are going to be attaching the tape to and you will have clear "sailing" with your next painting project.

    Must have product
I absolutely have to have Scotch painters tape when painting around around windows and trim and hardware. Using Scotch brand versus a cheaper product will insure the paint doesn't drip or ooze, or pull the paint off during removal.

    Yes!
While doing a painting project using this tape (which by the way it was perfect and saved me much time) I wondered how to display the many Christmas cards I had received. My management does not allow nails in walls. Here is the best for cards: just make a loop and affix to the card and then to wall. Yes! No marks or mess. I thank you much!

    Took the trim paint off
I used this tape on trim for a weekend paint project (stairway). It is taking the trim paint off as I remove it. This is a new house (1 year) so the paint is in good intact form. I'm not happy!!!

    Peeled off the paint
I painted the walls 2 weeks ago. Today I decided to calk a little, so I used the tapes the calking wouldn't get on the wall. It pulled about an inch of the paint off the wall.

    Horrible tape!
    Hello,\
    \
I never ever leave revues or comments about products but what I just went through I wouldn’t put anyone else through. I just spent all day taping the ceiling of two rooms. When I removed your Scotch Blue Original Multi-Surface painters tape from the ceiling that was painted 48 hours ago, it pulled almost all of the paint off with it. I can’t believe I actually gave the blue tape a try. This project is pretty much a do over and a waste of a vacation. This product is garbage and I will never use any of your products again. This will also be copied and pasted on every site/comment/revue page I can find so other people do not purchase this horrible product and go through this. I have painted many rooms in my homes and of course tried this tape because it was on sale. Thanks for a loss of 3 day. Your product is horrible!
