Protect It! Surge Protector, 12 Outlets, 8 ft Cord, 2880 Joules, Black

I used to worry about my computer every time the power would go out like during a bad storm or if a circuit breaker would trip. Not now. I did my research and I chose the Trip Lite TLP1208SAT surge suppressor. It has a high joule rating, plenty of outlets, long power cord ( 8ft ). This is a quality product and it is well made. It also protects tel/modem and ethernet. Also, it was reasonably priced.

I searched a lot before purchasing a surge protector and Tripp Lite's name consistently came across as a top manufacturer. I'm very pleased with my purchase and the piece of mind knowing that if something does happen, Tripp Lite has my back.

This is a nice surge protector for electronics that have bulky plugs.  The outlets are spaced out far enough so that things can be plugged in side by side.

I bought this for three reasons: 1) reliability in a thunderstorm, 2)  number of protected outlets on this device and 3)  the company Reputation.  
AND I replaced 2 other "power strips", which basically are  just giant fuses in case of a lightning strike; this device not only Protects my devices, but also allowed me to reorganize all my cabling behind my desk.  I?m a support person, and dust bunnies and a spaghetti tangle behind and under my desk is just not acceptable.  (I keep my desk 24 inches from the wall!!  For convenience of access!)
The addition of TEL/Modem/coaxe/ethernet ports is a vast improvement on any other device out there in this genre.  The sliding covers over the 110v ports is a very GOOD addition in a dusty atmosphere in Southwest Texas, where I reside.

The multiple outlets make it possible to plug in all my gear.  I takes two units.  An improvement would be sockets that would rotate 90 degrees to accommodate the long power supplies coming with some of the modern modems and drives.  These power supplies take up three spaces because of their plug orientation.  Swivel sockets would eliminate this hassel.  However, it still would not fix it for the overly wide ones.  Probably need to invest in some extender cords for these.

Wish I would have known more about surge protectors a long time ago. Maybe I wouldn't have lost 2 flat screen tv's and modem. I feel good and more at easy with the Tripp protection.

Exactly what I was looking for -- lots of outlets, great spacing, long extension.

I use this to protect my home theatre system. It's a solid unit, doesn't feel cheap in any way. The wide spaced plugs on half are great to have, no more outlet battles.

It's working great so far and am looking to buy more of the same to protect my other electronics!

Won't know how well it works until it is subject to a hit, but I am really happy with the quality of the unit. In addition, I don't notice any degradation of signal bandwidth. My TV and cable modem are working with no issues whatsoever.

I use this for my home computer. I chose this model for the network cable surge protection. It is industrial in appearance but it's under my desk and works great so no stars lost but you won't want it to be a centerpiece of anything.

Perfect Product For Equipment Protection.  Have several throughout the home and office!

I no longer feel the need to unplug my equipment when I leave the house. I highly recommend it.

Well this is one of those products that you hope you never have to use for its purpose. However I will say everything has been plugged into it (TV,  router,  Xbox One,  surround sound,  cable box, ethernet switch, and some other stuff) and it hasn't blown my circuits yet. Ports are nice and spaced. However,  I'm giving it 4 out of 5 for two reasons:
1) the plugs are extremely difficult to push into. I really had to use force to get my adapters in.
2) since I haven't had to use it for its primary purpose yet (protection against a surge) I can't say it works perfectly. However if in the unfortunate circumstance I have to use it for this purpose I'll be sure to update this review.

Bought this to replace a Power strip that was damaged in a lightning strike. This Tripp Lite surge protector is higher rated but more affordable than the competitor products. I plan to keep using Tripp Lite for all my equipment.

I got this surge protection for my main desktop computer. I know it is billed as a media center surge protector. This one has the amount of plugs I needed at a great price. Tripp Lite surge protectors have one important function that many competitors surge protector omit and that is if the protection has become degraded it will stop working. Others do not have this important function they will continue to provide power but no longer provide protection

I have the space that I need and the piece of mind that my equipment is SAFE.

This had all the protection I needed and tons of plug options. The extra long cord made it ideal to hide out of site too.

It's a convenient design and handles all my entertainment gear with room to spare.  I bought a smaller one for office equipment the next week.

Durable, Plenty Of Outlets, Audio Noise Gone, Picture Is Sharp And Vivid, Network Speed Is A Tiny Bit Slower But More Consistant.

I am an Electronic Engineer. I have worked for Bell Labs, Analog Devices, and have consulted for clients as to recommend WHAT they should purchase.

Every sale I made, on anything that "plugs in",  was contingent upon a suitable TRIP LITE PRODUCT FOR THE CUSTOMERS CONTINUED PROTECTION.  They did NOT have to buy it from me, BUT THE CLIENT HAD TO HAVE THE RECOMMENDED PRODUCT. OTHERWISE, I WOULD NOT PROCEED  UNLESS/UNTIL THEY purchased a SUITABLE TRIPP LITE PRODUCT TO ROTECT THEIR INVESTMENT.

WHETHER IT WAS A SURGE PROTECTOR (I RELIED ON THE ISO- BAR LINE) OR A UPS, OR A POWER CONDITIONER, They HAD TO HAVE PROTECTION.
ADDITIONALLY, we did an AC "power audit" for a minimum of 168 Hours (Min) , and recorded, and analyzed results to make the most cost effective recommendation, for all of our clients.

This unit I just got, is for my TV, and bedroom electronic devices.  I like this, but am still attracted to the I BAR LINE. For this reason, I will use THIS UNIT in the kids room, and get the ISOBAR 10  A/V/DATA UNIT (Can't remember MN!) FOR MY ROOM.  

I feel THAT STRONGLY ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS.

I live in an area prone to lightning strikes and I've lost many electronics prior to the purchase of this new surge protector.  So far, we've had many storms and all of my electronic devices are fine.

Great product...I have several other styles of Tripp Lite surge protectors.  Don't plan on buying any other brands.

I was a touch skeptical but ordered it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised that it accommodated all of my equipment... My router, DirecTV VCR components and TV and the rest. The Price is Right and it is a value. I had just lost a brand new 50 inch television a month before purchasing yet due to an electrical storm and a much cheaper and obviously ineffective type similar unit but not Tripp Lite

Used for a computer and attached peripherals. Purchased for it's protection, number of outlets, and ability to protect network and cable equipment.
Con: Had a VERY difficult time inserting some plugs into the narrowly spaced outlets.

Very well built and laid out power protection center.  Ample space for regular plugs, transformers of various sizes.  The transformers typically take up at least two spots on a normal power strip.  The wide spacing & side orientation on this surge protector is ideal for a computer station.  I used eight of the twelve outlets, for a number of monitors, computers, printers, modems.  

Power cord is heavy gauge, long enough to allow mounting the unit in a concealed area, and route the cables neatly.

I set this up to connect our new TV & sound bar along with a stereo system and other things.  We needed more outlets than we had available.  This surge protector provided more than enough outlets and allowed the dvr box to be protected via the coax ports as well as via the power. So far no issues.

The "best"...just couldn't be---any "better"!!!!

I use this product to protect a large TV, A/V & Stereo equipment in my home.  I have used Tripp-Lite to protect all my electronics for over 30 years.  I trust them!

Great product.  It comes with the cables needed to run the router.  Nice extra.

This strip is well-designed, with outlets spaced on one side for irritating power bricks, coaxial protection, RJ45 protection, and a decent voltage protection rating (which is what really matters in the event of a surge).  It also has holes that let you mount it to a wall, or, in my case, the underside of a desk.

Plenty of outlets, lots of space between them and a long cord to reach where ever I need.  Great protection that got a great review!

I use the surge protector to power my computer, internet, monitor and heart monitoring equipment. The 12 outlets are arranged perfectly for my needs. It was easily mounted using the mounting holes on the rear of the protector. The cord is super long which was perfect for the location of the install.

I replaced my previous surge protector with this one for its safety features and strong reputation (see Wirecutter review). So far, I've had zero issues with my devices that are plugged into this device. Therefore, I'm a happy camper ??

Use it for home theater system.  I also run my internet through it as well using the coax in/out.  Has plenty of room for 3-4 9v dc adapter style plugs (router, modem, other random devices).  It's awesome.

Using it to protect the items connected to our entertainment system.  PROS - independent reviews claim it actually protects and the sturdiness of the builds leaves me not doubting that.  It FEELS solidly built.  CONS - I'm not sure in this day and time you need a telephone protection.  Could save money by removing those ports.
