Great Product

I use these all around the house as an economical surge protector that I can rely on, wherever I don't need the additional coax or network lines protected as well.

The design of the supressor is such that you can use up to three bulky transformers without blocking the use of the other outlets, since two of the outlets are provided on the side. Additionally, it has a rating of 2160J, which is plenty of protection for me for most applications.

After having an issue with a lightning strike, I spent a lot of time researching reviews of products and customer feedback to get a feel for which companies actually stood behind their products. Tripp-Lite was the only one I felt I could trust.

Great Product! Many Nice Features! Compact Foot Print!

Our original surge suppressor power strip failed recently. I chose the Super7 because of the features. The unit has indicating lights (LED's) to show if the unit protection is good and also if it is connected to a grounded outlet. The strip has the capacity for seven plugs and with adequate room for three transformers. The seven foot cord and flat style plug are nice extras. I use the Super7 for powering several items that are not powered from my computer UPS. It was easy to install and takes as much room as the older unit that had only 5 outlets.

No worries

I live in a rural area in the mountains in central California. We have power surges and outages quite often because our hydroelectric power stations were made around the early 1900's. Even though periodic upgrades have been performed on the plants, the entire system is still quite old and suffers periodic failures. It is very reassuring to have my computer, audio and video equipment protected by Tripp Lite surge protector strips. They have performed flawlessly and provide me with great peace of mind. Excellent Product

I purchased 3 Super7Tels about one year ago after my home was hit by lightning and we lost some electronics components due to the resulting surge that went through the electrical system. With the 2520 Joule rating and the Ultimate lifetime insurance this product is the best value that I could find to protect our new equipment.

Great Home Solution

Tripp Lite offered $75,000 insurance for this product. They stand behind it, and it works great for what I use it for: TV, Game Consoles, and Home Audio. The cable is rather long, and three outlets fit my transformer plugs.

This product is excellent for surge protection.

This product has a 7 ft cord and has more than enough outlets for all of my office equipment. I have only one main outlet in the wall and this product accommodates my printer, computer, adding machine, Staplex tab machine safely. Thanks for a great product!

I highly recommend!

Couldn't have chosen a better product for my application. I use this to protect a modest home theater. It is excellent for my usage. The angled flat plug is a great spacesaver. The side outlets on this surge protector simply brilliant. Plugged in all accessories, plugged in the protector, turned on the unit, and voilЛ† the diagnostic LEDs lit up.

Functionality is Amazing!!

I needed a replacement surge protector at a good price. Upon my research the Super 7 exceeded my expectations for my electronics' needs. Peace of Mind

If you're like me and spend too much on PC enthusiasm, a simple cheap power strip isn't good enough. I trust the Super7 with a few thousands of dollars worth of higher-end PC / sim racing equipment.

Meets all my requirements

I was looking for a surge protector for my new plasma TV, Cable Box and DVR. The Joule rating, size of the product, number of plugs, position of the plugs, warrenty, reliable manufacturer and even the color all met my requirements. I looked around a lot for this and finally found exactly what I was looking for and needed. I have been using the product for 1 year and it works great.

Smart features, good design, great value

Before buying this one, I spent a lot of time comparing different brands and models. This won hands-down for its outlet layout, warranty, and importantly, its joule rating. Many seemingly good surge protectors are weak in the latter area, which is one of the most important to consider when it comes to actual protection of your devices. This one excels. Have been using it for more than a year now, and it has performed perfectly. Would definitely buy again.

Great specifications for the $$ (awesome value), but not without fault

I researched this unit quite a bit as I was looking for a something in the $10-20 range that offered an above average level of protection. I wish that Tripp Lite had more specifications to offer on their electronics than they do (for example, is this a true 3-line suppressor, or will it only work properly with a proper ground?). The main reason I would not rate it as 5-stars or excellent is because it has a slight design flaw. The power switch they used is too sensitive and DISCONNECTS/TURNS OFF WITH ONLY A PARTIAL PRESS (before it clicks). This means that accidental shutdowns from pets, feet, slight movements of the power strip are too likely to occur as I discovered when setting everything up. I'm pretty sure Tripp Lite has been putting switches on their products for almost a century, so I was a surprised to find this design error. It's a slight flaw but as anyone who's cat has shut down their computer will attest, it is an unfortunate oversight.

The best surge suppressor on the market!

This is easily the best surge suppressor on the market. The cord is a great length with an angled flat wall plug. The genius in the Super7's design is the ability to plug 3 wall warts into it without blocking any other plugs. You can technically plug in a 4th wall-wart upside down at the top plug, but it will cover up the LED indicators and possibly the power switch. The switch is slightly recessed so accidentally switching it off is minimized. It can be wall-mounted and it has surge & ground protection LEDs. The ground protection alone has found at least two AC wall plugs not properly grounded that an electrician needed to fix (which could have resulted in fire and/or death). The surge protection indicator ensures me the suppressor is still good. It is backed up by Tripp-Lite's great lifetime warranty and $75,000 lifetime insurance in the care case where it doesn't protect from a surge and equipment plugged into it fry. The size is perfect for almost any application, it is not ugly to look at, and it is built well. EMI / RFI filtering is also standard. I only wish it had two USB charging plugs (maybe in a future version). Some models even include phone or coax protection. I have purchased literally dozens of these for work & home, and not a single one has failed. This is the best surge suppressor for nearly any application!

Couldn't ask for a strip more versatile

Built to accommodate a variety if wall warts, power transformers and cord plugs. Must be working because have not experienced and equipment failures caused by surges.

Works great and love the side outlet

I'm actually using this for my Workbench in the garage and needed something with high Joules protection and could handle 15A. This fits the bill nicely and the way the strip is mounted, the side outlets make it very convenient to plug individual tools whenever I need to. I can't speak for Longevity, but this is Tripplite we're talking about, so I am confident it will last a long while. Great product!

A great way to save money

This product can help u save the price of a new computer. Here in Nebraska, we have frequent storms with a lot of lightening that sometimes fryes our electronic equipment.

I've only had this item for a month or so, but so far, I'm satisfied with it. We have several power surges a month. (my large UPS has a "message board"" Anyway, time till tell if the items plugged into this device live through these surges. Will report again later.

Powers electronics

I trusted it enough to hook up my entertainment system to it, and it does that job well. But the real test of these types of things is in worst-case scenarios, and I've been lucky enough to not have to test the quality of their warranty yet, so it's hard for me to give it an outstanding score.

seems fine.

it has 2 lights, so that helps. grounded and protected, so you the situation istantly.
also the 2 side outlets add a lot of flexibility.
the only downside is that, unlinke some belkin ones, the end that goes in the wall doesnt rotate, which would make it extremely flexible.
on the other hand, it has a long cord, so that sets it.

These surge protectors are a must for the home computer room. They can save them from lightening and storms; which can fry your computers.

CANNOT TOP THIS SURGE PROTECTOR BY TRIPP=LITE

When you need multiple outlets with surge protection you cannot top Tripp-Lite's 7-outlet surge protector for insuring that your electric appliances against unexpected electrical spikes. There is little more to add. This product does the job and it lasts.

Good Product easy to use and check at a glance

A very good product well engineered. At a glance you can see if it is working correctly. The 2 lights on this let you know it is good and still protecting your equipment. If it fails Tripp Lite will replace it at no charge --- What's not to like !!!

Very nice and high quality.

I was a little confused why the grounding light was a real dim reddish color. I had to call to make sure that meant it was grounded as the manual didn't specify what colors the led lights would be. It did mean it was grounded properly and it is working well protecting my equipment.

Love the 25' cord!

I bought a drum room for my garage and needed a power strip with a long cord to reach inside of it. Didn't even realize there were power strips with this long of cord and this was the only brand that did that I could find. Works great and very pleased with it.

I am so glad I found this brand and model. The addition of 2 side outlets for blocks makes the top outlets all useable. It is lightweight yet lies flat on the floor. It is modern and streamlined.

Great for college student in tornado alley

We sent our son to college this year in Oklahoma. Every other day we get thunderstorm alerts for his area. He has not had any problems with his electronics that are plugged into his Tripp lite surge protector. Hopefully it will continue to protect even through the spring storm season.

Perfect for my use

I recently purchased this surge protector due to length that was needed to reach the outlet, and to be discreet so it would not be seen as much. It was used upon our mantle, and while sitting on the couch looking up at an angle, it is barely noticeable. The guarantee that comes with it, is hands down better than anything else i researched. The fact the company stands behind their products and is willing to pay for any damages that might occur if they aren't protected properly is just fantastic. Tripp Lite knows customer service. can't really test it, but reviews on it are good. I like the side sockets for wall transformers, the indicator lights for ground faults and high joules rating. the specs seem good and the equipment replacement warranty is good too. overall a good unit for the cost.

Great Protector

This surge protector is great, has clear bright indicator lights as well as the plugs on the sides to accomodate A.C. boxes. It also had a low profile plug, great for behind your mounted TV. It also has mount holes on the back so you can hang on the wall.

great protection

My bedroom has only a couple of outlets and I used to plug and unplug everything. Now I have the 12 ft long cord and I can use the devices needed and charge them too. I love the bright indicator light that reminds me to turn it off when I don't need it.

Proect it Surge Protector

I used the 7-outlet Surge Protector were I had to plug Verizon Fios in to get power. It let me know that the outlet was wired correctly. Now I feel safe that my Fios is protected.

Best of the best

This is an extremely well made, durable, quality product, unlike any other brand or model at this price point. This model and better at Tripp Lite cut off power if the surge protector becomes compromised. For under $35 you can even have models with an audible alarm on top of that before they even begin to fail. Think about this... In a bad storm, you often have multiple lightning hits. Most brands and types of surge protectors keep functioning as mere power strips after being damaged, and with no warning whatsoever! That second hit will then fry all of your equipment and even void your original warranty, leaving you completely out of luck and with no recourse.
This model also has good line filtering for when other appliances like HVAC or those needing high startup power create voltage spikes and interference for home theater and sensitive electronic equipment. Most computer and electronics failures are due to a series of many repeated spikes rather than single direct hits. You can go five dollars cheaper but it is only foolish to risk it. This model is absolutely the best made and best bang for your buck. It will handle anything plugged into it that draws less than 15 amps simultaneously. I personally own 7 of these for everything less than my home theater setups and can not recommend them more highly. However, this model can indeed handle a home theater system no problem. The only electric/electronic device in my home not on a Tripp Lite is my toothbrush, because the outlet is too close to the sink and a safety risk. I do not work for Tripp Lite nor am I getting paid for this review. I'm an Electronics Engineer who lives in the Midwest where there are frequent storms and would like to save you from future regret at having made simple mistakes with your own devices trying to save 5 dollars somewhere else. You can't find better surge protectors below this model. Anybody worth their salt in my field knows that Tripp Lite surge protectors are the best made, bar none.

Solved my electrical problems. A++++++

My devices were shutting down as the old powerstrip could not handle the load and was not surge protected. This one solved all my issues. I ended up order more to replace my colleagues old powerstrips. Would definitely recommend!

Great Surge Protector

This Surge Protector is the perfect size for behind my TV. I love that it has an outlet on top and botton for my bigger plugs and also the end outlet can accommodate a bigger longer plug as well. The last surge protector I had did not have them and my bigger plugs would cover up multiple oulets. I love that it has a small green power light and a small red grounded light so that you know it is working. If you need a 7 outlet surge protector look no further.

Good protection at a reasonable cost

Several neighbors suffered extensive damage from a nearby lightning strike which prompted me to upgrade my surge protection. I purchased a Tripp-Lite TLP1008TEL Surge Protector for my entertainment center based on the reviews I read. As I searched for similar protection at a cheaper price, I discovered the Tripp-Lite SUPER7TEL surge protector. It has very impressive specifications. It has a joule rating of 2520, response time of < 1 ns, clamping voltage of 150V, with let through ratings of L-N 330V, L-G 400V, N-G 400V. It includes phone line surge suppression. It has 7 outlets with a 7 ft cord. I am very pleased with the Tripp-Lite SUPER7TEL because it pretty much meets the recommended specifications for good surge suppression.

Trust Tripp Lite

I use this model to plug in our desk top computer, monitor, printer, modem, router, speakers and phone. The three plugs designed for transformers are essential to having room for all seven plugs. It's perfect for our use. I have used Tripp Lite surge protectors for over 25 years and never had a problem. I also like the price for the warranty and the size.

Reliable and so useful

TropLite surge protector is so reliable, I have all the plugs connected to laptops, mobile chargers, desk lamp, exterior lightings etc., It is able to withstand as many appliances we add to it. Decades loyal user

While living in rural areas, I've depended on multiple Tripp Lite Line Conditioner products to keep -all- my electronics safe, especially from brown outs and local lightning strikes. Now that I'm living in the city, I've switched to this less elaborate surge protector, since my line conditioners have not given any "alarms" in the 2.5 years, I'm here. So, I'm very pleased to be protected - with less expense. The one downside: I'm -still- confused by the -red- LED which indicates that everything is okay! This conflicts with -everything- previous, so I've had to read the instructions over-and-over again - to be sure (and, !'m still not - to be honest!). However, since I use my line conditioners at other sockets, I was able to test out the new socket in question - to confirm things are, indeed-- alright. I stay with Tripp Lite because I believe they have rock solid technology, since everything hooked up to them have been exceptionally long lived.

Works well so far---plug in design very useful

In this Mojave desert area we have occasional power outs---resulting in the damaging surge of returning power. Have lost modems in past, most recently had a damaged router. Now with a new upgraded router plugged into this 2160 Joules protector---the hope is that this will prevent another damage incident. Just minutes ago, had a power off and on---well, it is still working. Cannot say if the "Protect It!" is going to ultimately save our equipment from future surges---but again, are hopeful. Very useful plug-in design, especially with the two side plug ins---which allow for bulky transformer plugs.

This strip was the bomb!

Tripp Lite Surge Protectors are now my go to brand.

I did a lot of research before I purchased the Tripp Lite Super7 outlet surge protector, I needed the right angle plug, wanted 2160 joules, the lights are working properly, it's protecting my electronics. Customer reviews were key in making my brand decision regarding the quality of the product and that the mfg. has an excellent customer service response and warranty department. It also had the best pass through rating that I could find. I now have 2 of these and Tripp Lite will be my go to brand from now on.
