Purchased Two

I bought two of these. One for my tv/video game - the other for my computer. I have not had a surge, so I cannot speak of that performance, but I do like the fact it will accommodate large plugs.

Great Product

Have three of these in-line at the office for quite a bit of electronic equipment. Small design yet enough room for larger inputs.

Nice feature with the slide closeable covers to keep dust, etc., from building up in any unused slots.

Great product

I have used Tripp Lite since the 1980's and
can only say they have been and are excellent.
In fact still using the first one. What I really like
about the TLP808 is that you can actually plug in
5 devices and 3 power supplies unlike many
surge suppressors that take 2 or more outlets
for a single power supply. All of this in a compact
box and a great price equals one of the best cost
benefit item to protect your valuable equipment
available on the market

Pure Quality

This was my first Tripp Lite Surge Suppressor, that works GREAT and provides superior quality! The unit itself is solid and two light indictors to provide assurance that is working. However the best feature is the room it provides for those fat plugs. Yet keep the unit itself light and thin. I will definitely be buying more to replace all of my old APC surge suppressors.

Hi quality company. Hi quality performance.

I have used Tripplite surge protectors in the past. I have also used lesser products and paid dearly for doing so when I experienced a power spike. The last power spike I experienced resulted in the surge protector tripping and doing exactly what it was designed to do, saving several thousand dollars worth of home electronics. When it came to protecting some new electronic equipment we purchased in the office, there was no other choice than Tripplite!

Great Example of Customer Needs

This power strip is everything one would need. It seems that everything people would complain about with other strips, were resovled when making this one. The best feature of all is knowing that it was made by a truely reliable company. I love it..!!

Worthwhile purchase

Due to intermittent power outages and the loss of electronic equipment I now use this suppressor on my audio/video equipment. Very pleased with the units performance and outlet spacing, also the ability to close the outlets not in use.

Media Center

I was redoing my media cabinet and needed a solution to all of the electrical cords. Tripp-Lite was the answer. It handles all of the plugs, regardless of size, shape or configuration.

Perfect product!

Design and reliability

Great design for no blocked plugs from those giant wall-wart power supplies. I haven't had any problems with this, so for my money it's a great value.

Well designed

I've had my Tripp Lite for quite some time now. It's well designed with a non crowded plug lay-out with a variety of plugs inlets. The 8 ft cord is super heavy duty and I really like how the plug is offset to keep the other wall socket free for another plug. It's reasonably priced for the quality. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. If I ever found a use to buy a second, I would buy the same model.

Awesome Surge Suppressor

Great product for the $. I first purchased these in 2011 and they worked great, so when I moved and had more electronics to plug in I ordered another 4. None of them have failed me yet. Very convenient long cable and a great design for the outlets. Would definitely keep buying tripp light products in the future.

i use this for more than a year, and no problem. i have some issue with the light, and tripp-lite saved my laptop, and my phone. it is working 24/24, and no issues.

Keeps working under extreme conditions

One day I went to my computer at my house. Computer had no power. Lights on surge protector were out. Picked it up it was wet and I got an electric shock. Turns out the cat urinated on it. So I unplugged it and started to think what can I do. I unscrewed the surge protector and opened it. Sprayed the inside of it with electronic cleaner. Put it back together and it works again.

Made to Last??

According to the advertisement these are made to last.
I sure hope so. Ive read a lot of reviews for inexpensive surge protectors from Belkin, APC etc. This unit had the least about of negative reviews. I purchased this unit because of the small foot print. Other brands are 5 inches longer and 2 inches wider. This unit is big enough. Time will tell!

It would be nice if this unit was made in the U.S.A!!

Great surge suppressor

This suppressor is used 24 hrs/365 days non-stop every year, and it works great. My computer has never been better protected. I had to get one for my home because the one I had there did not work as well as this one.

TLP808 review

Great product. There are numerous outlets that are spaced well to accommodate numerous plugs. My house is very prone to surges and I have fried two 'high quality' belkin surge protectors, so I knew it was time for a change. The Tripplite product has protected my expensive electrical components (TV, AV receiver, Tivo). We've had two surges since I started using the TLP808 and all my components are safe AND the surge processor still works great! Very happy with this product. I will purchasing another to put in my office to power my computer, external hard drives, etc. Great price. Highly recommended.

This product is extremely reliable.

Excellent product, no complaints

I installed this surge protector in the home of my mother-in-law and it has been working perfectly. I knew I could rely on Tripp-Lite! God forbid that something bad should happen at the home of my mother-in-law, even just a power outage: my wife and her mother would complain to me and then I'd have to change wives and mothers-in-law just to get some peace and quiet around here. Just kidding: they're great!

This is the perfect surge protector for my needs

I like the long cord, I think it's 8 ft. I like the large spaces for large plugs. Also like the angle the surge protector plugs into the wall outlet, isn't sticking out a long way.

Pretty happy with it. enough outlets to do what i need it to do and they are spread out well. if i were to improve it at all i would maybe put a master switch and individual switches.

functional design

This is a great surge protector model as it has numerous outlets in a compact footprint. I have it in a secretary desk with the power cords for our phones, ipads and laptops in one neat area.

A good product from a trusted name

Pros: 8 surge protected outlets
         8 ft. cord
         3 wide-spaced outlets for oversized adapters
         Outlet covers for those not in use
         The Tripp Lite name

Cons: The right-angle plug (50% of the time it's pointing away from the location of the power strip leaving
          an odd loop in the cord thus shortening its effective length)

Replace old surge protectors

After recent thunderstorms with nearby lightning strikes, I researched the life of surge protectors. Turns out that they get consumed by surges, one Joule at a time. So I decided to replace two of my primary surge protectors. These units were well made, well priced, and had an adequate number of outlets.

Holla! Come and get your appliances protected

This product works as expected, has additional, nice features in many respects, and has a fantastic-seeming warranty and coverage for surge damage.

Hopefully I don't have a reason to make use of the surge protection coverage, but at 75k, it seems exceedingly generous and makes me want to buy a bunch more of these. The ability to slide closed individual outlets are a nice touch and the indicator lights are helpful.

Very Reliable and Helpful .

I have only three components plugged into the Unit: TV; DVD player, and Roku streaming device. I had a very powerful Lightening Strike which threw several Breakers in my 200amp. Service Panel. It blew other fuses too..HVAC; Backup Generator, and roasted an outlet under the house! TV, DVD and Roku all fried, but understandably from so strong a strike! I filed a Claim with Tripplite and received Excellent service, very courteous, helpful and informative. They paid my claim for damaged equipment and replaced my Surge Protector unit. I HIGHLY Recommend Tripp Lite!!

Works Correctly

Replaces 3 surge suppressor strips that supported a TV, a set top box (FIOS), a DVD player, a all-in-one computer, a printer, and a 2 Terabyte Stand alone backup disk. With "one unit" there is no guessing is it this strip, or one of the other two... This surge suppressor multi-outlet strip fit my need to a tee.

Worked for me

We had a large branch come down on power lines by our office which caused a huge power surge. Some people in the building lost their printers, an old computer, my husband's calculator, etc. I had my stuff (iMac, printer, etc) plugged into the TrippLite 808 and they never even shut down. Now I see why you NEED a good surge protector!!

Perfect Fit for all those Home Office plugs

Just the right amount of outlets needed to accommodate all my home office needs. The right angle plug is a plus and space saver. Fits great in my "Hide the cord" box. Definitely a great product.

Just what I needed

This is just what I needed to be able to charge all my devices. I needed a long cord to be able to place it in a convient place. And this is perfect with enough plugs, long cord and surge protector. I especially like the size of the unit.

I would fully recommend this and would buy another one.

I use this in my bedroom, I especially like the three outlets with space for large power adapters. I like the low profile of it, and the power indicators and the status lights. I feel confident it is protecting whatever is connected to it.

Great Use Flexibility and Surge Protection

I purchased this Tripp-Lite protector to protect the four wall warts that power my Schiit desktop audio stack, and to provide a master power switch for the system. The protector easily accommodates the four transformers, and the nine-foot power cord reaches the wall outlet located on an adjacent wall. I have used Tripp-Lite surge protectors for over 15 years, and have become a loyal fan. Great customer service too!

Quality surge protector

It is being used to protect an office desktop machine as well as modem and printer. It meets UL specification and is reasonably priced. The warranty is exceptional and is one of the great features. The outlet spacing makes configuring plug ins easy whether cord or transformer. Diagnostic led's keep an eye on protection.

I would buy this product again.

Perfect solution for surge protection without a lot of other "fussy" things like antennas, etc.
Very nice compact size.
Best feature is on/off switch so it isn't drawing electricity constantly.
The only con is description said switch covers for unused outlets but there were none.

Great handy Surge Protector

The 8 outlet surge protector is great! The long cord and the plug at a right angle helps to place furniture or items closer to the wall and the long cord allows the protector to go behind items to alleviate trip hazard and keeps the area looking neat. The large size protector with the 8 outlets allows those bulky plugs and straight plugs. This is just a handy and well designed protector! Would buy again!
