Poorly designed corner pieces/sliders. Unduly complicated.
First, one frame requires 14 parts !!! That's ridiculous! Second, a hammer and pliers are required. Often offices don't have these tools available, so purchasers are going to have to improvise or bring tools from home. Third, as a tech writer, I think the directions leave a lot to be desired. Fourth, one of the plastic sliders broke and had to be fixed with gorilla glue. Finally, if one trims a side rail, the trimmed end is difficult to tap into the plastic slide insert. The old type of file folder frame with an adjusting screw was infinitely easier -- at least if a screw driver was not available, a letter opener or coin could be used in it's place. No hammering required and not nearly as many parts. Smead, what were you thinking?!!

    Easy Assembly
This product was so much easier to assemble than products that I have used in the past. The snap off length was easy to adjust.

    frustrating plastic parts
Easy assembly, but undependable parts. After snapping off the bars to length, one can seldom feed the crimped end through the plastic bracket. Trying to feed it through the long way breaks the bracket three out of four times. Why aren't the plastic brackets sold separately or shown to order so the whole kit is not unusable when this happens?

If I could rate these 0 stars, I would.
I had no problem with assembly. That was a breeze. About a year ago I bought six of these for my six built-in file drawers. I assembled them, added my hanging files and file contents and was a happy camper. Cut to about six months later and I noticed either the front or the back piece at the bottom had slid inward towards the middle of the drawer so that the whole top was leaning either to the front or to the back and the files were all sliding and just resting on the bottom of the drawer on the shallow end. This happened with every single drawer. I tried taking every file folder out and straightening out the bent (cheap) plastic pieces. That seemed to work for a few days. But they eventually went back to the way they were. I tried fixing them again only to have some of the plastic pieces completely snap apart. What a waste of money. I'm so disappointed that this is such an inferior product. People should know that if they actually have files with papers in them, these will not work.

Turn any drawer into a file drawer!
The Hanging File Folder Frame is a great way to increase your hanging file space. You can use it in any drawer to turn it into a file drawer. There is a little bit of a learning curve when assembling the frame, as it comes flat in a box... but in a short amount of time, we were putting our filing system in place! My favorite feature is the ability to fit the frame to any size drawer. I highly recommend this brand & product specifically for hanging file folders onto.

    Junk
I had the recent experience of assembling a hanging file folder frame assembly. I felt fortunate that I did it and didn't have to pay an employee to do it. It took me about an hour or 15 min a piece to accomplish. The screw holes were stripped out on each of the frames. It required me to remove the screw place the frame on a solid object and use a hammer to compress the hole. This allowed me to use the product.

    Needs to be more Universal
this is for use in my home office. It's what I needed, however, the rails are still too long at the 23" mark. So it would be nice if there were more premade indentures to break the rails back shorter than 23".

    Adjustable Letter/Legal File Frame
I started out using this in my Real Estate office desk to keep files I was working on.  It was so useful, I decided I also wanted one for my home office.  Its flexible use allows you to use it as either letter size or legal size folder holder.  It does not HAVE to go in a filing cabinet, it can go in really any drawer it can fit, which made the options at home much easier to decorate with.  Very useful product for home, office, or both!

Adapts to any depth of drawer or container
Keeps folders from slumping under the one before or after it. Especially when the drawer is only partially full in the early months of the year. Very easy to access contents and return them to their proper place in the file because the support frame manages the hanging folders supported thereon.

    Good frame, horrible directions!!
I bought this for my office at work and knew the minute it came out of the box that this was going to be difficult to put together and I was right. The instructions are a joke and the pictures make no sense. It's a good product but this design has flaws in the assembly!

Convert to legal size? No instructions
There are no directions on how to make these frames hold legal size hanging files. It appears that the claims are false.

Disappointed, no black inserts in either box -
Ordered (2) separate boxes of Hanging frames - both boxes missing the black plastic inserts.  Could not use the product - waiting on response from Smead -

    Low quality breaks during construction
During building this frame, the plastic sides were broken. Even though it was my fault I have almost never had a great experience with any plastic hanging file system. I highly recommend the all metal frames that use a screw. Also when you are making the rails for the frame the directions tell you to break off a section off of the metal rail. The edges were left bent and sharp. If you have the equipment you can grind down the ends and make them smooth but I do not and also do not find that a good use of my time. All in all - buy a metal frame file folder holder.
