I use scotch because it tkaes the worry out of the package opening unexpectedly.

Sure Start Shipping tape was so easy to use! I have RA and have difficulty using some products, but this dispenser was simple to use and I did not have to spend extra time trying to find the end of the tape. The adhesive is strong enough to tape shut the box I needed to send and it unwound effectively and efficiently. The cutter worked correctly with very little pressure. I highly recommend this product for those who need an easy-to-use tape with dispenser. A good value for the money.

Scotch is the only brand I purchase for shipping packages. It's the best product that i don't have to double layers of tape on the boxes I send..like a friend of mine does when she mails packages. She's wasting money using so much tape. Scotch Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape saves me money and is a quality product. I'll never switch.

I use this as I see no alternative but am annoyed that I waste 50% of each roll trying to get it started from shredding on the POC dispenser. Can't you make a usable dispenser.

I use thise tape all the time and it's so convenient , unwinding quickly and strong so I can securely use less. I always have plenty on hand for items I must get out! It always looks professional.

As advertised, this tape starts easily. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing I can say about it. It sticks very poorly, rendering it almost useless as shipping tape. It also cuts very poorly using a standard shipping tape dispenser, perhaps because it comes off the roll so easily and thus doesn't provide enough tension for the dispenser to work. Ultimately, I'm extremely dissatisfied with this product.

Bought this tape in a 3 roll pack. Sorry now that i did. Not sticky enough, useless as a packaging tape. Worst feature is how easy tape comes off the roll. Picked it up and about 20 feet of tape on the floor as it rolled away.Had to buy different tape to complete  the packing job. Stay away. You have been warned.Would have rated zero stars if possible.

I bought this tape because of the Scotch brand and because it is easy to start the roll.  It was more expensive but I thought it would be worth it.  It does not stick well to cardboard boxes and I use new boxes so there is no dirt etc. on boxes.  The last roll I used when I unrolled the tape it shredded down the middle in two places and I wasted tape just trying to get it whole again.  Last week I had packages in a plastic bag to take to the post office and when I got there, because the tape did not stick well to the box, it stuck to the plastic bag and ripped my shipping label off.  It sticks to the plastic bag but not the box.  I bought 12 rolls of this and because I bought them on line, it would cost me half the cost of the tape to return the last 6 roll package I have.

"Sure Start" is not as thick as the older 3M packaging tape. I used it on all sides of  a 20 pound box of books in the usual way (no problems with taping like this in the past).  The recipient just wrote to say the box arrived burst open with some other junk in it (not the books), with the statement, "next time use a LOT more tape."   So don't rely on this !

I was actually excited to receive this tape. I immediately brought it to work as we had a few boxes we needed to ship out. \
The tape worked as expected and was so easy to start- when others (store brands) take forever to find the beginning. As we taped up our boxes I know they were taped well you can just tell. I was sent this product to use in exchange for a review. My comments are my own.

I love this tape! I not only use it around my house but I use it my classroom. It has a powerfully strong hold that I can rely on.

I was impressed with how easy it is to use this tape dispenser. I tape up boxes a and I wanted a shipping tape that was easy to use and an easy way to apply. This tape does not disappoint. It Glides easily off the roll sticks firmly and tears off clean. I'm definitely a fan. Some packing tape is actually too thin. This packing tape is perfect. It has a thicker level of consistency that really grabs on to whatever you're taping.

This tape is amazing! It has a handy dispenser that delivers the tape perfectly. It holds well on packages! Highly recommend!

Finally I have found a shipping tape that does not stick to itself if it falls underneath the tab guides! No more picking with fingernails to find the lost end, only to have the product shred like other brands. Smooth and quiet unrolling, you will not have to play "tug of war" to commence dispensing. Cuts easily with a slight twist, saving fingers. I feel it has slightly less adhesive than other tapes, so be sure to apply some pressure while smoothing it out to ensure a secure seal. Thanks to 3M for providing me with a free sample so that I could share my thoughts with you!

1) It wasn't easy to unwind at first.  It took a while to determine where the roll of packaging tape starts.  The colored portion of the tape is not where the roll started.  The starting point was an inch away from the colored part of the tape.  That was confusing.\
2) I liked when the tape is torn off by the perforated blade, that the end can be held up on the packaging tape holder.  This must be the amazing fall-back tab technology.\
3) The packaging tape unwinds quietly.\
4) It would had been a nice touch if 3M shipped the package containing the packing tape with the actual packaging tape I was reviewing, but alas, 3M did not.

Have you ever been packaging up something to send to someone or even packing several boxes to ship and the loud, noisy sound coming from the tape dispenser was about to get on your last nerve? I know I have, and worse, I've even scared nearby family/friends because of the unexpected, loud, & obtrusive noise those packing tape dispensers make! Thanks to 3M's new Scotch Sure Start Packaging Tape, I no longer have to be concerned about that issue. In fact, I can do my packaging late at night and not have to worry about waking anyone up now! In addition to that, this tape starts and stops seamlessly without fraying or splitting! Not having to spend ten minutes trying to get the roll of tape back to an even rolling pattern when it splits/tears is wonderful! As busy as my schedule is a lot of days, it's so nice to have another tool/product that makes your life easier and more productive and the Scotch Sure Start Packaging Tape does just that and without compromising the excellent quality we already love with 3M Scotch Packaging Products! Needless to say, I'll definitely be stocking up on this new packing tape!!

Starting to use this roll of tape was hard, as the end started to come apart into several smaller strands of tape.  Once I got it started though, it was very easy to use!  The tape itself sticks well to packages, and it doesn't get tangled.  Once a roll has been started, the dispenser has a good place to put the new end, so the user doesn't have to pick at it to get it started again each time.

I received this product free from 3M and I’m loving how visible and easy the start of the tape is, when I pulled the tape it pulled out quick and quietly.

First, what I like: the refillable plastic dispenser is superb. It's designed with little plastic tabs on either side, underneath the blade, so that after you cut off your preferred length of tape, the end of the tape no longer flops down on the roll, leaving you to have to turn the roll around and around until you find the start. I received a sample roll of the Sure Start tape and loved how easily it rolls across the package.  Most of all, I loved how quiet it was when dispensing.  I have used other tapes that are very noisy and hard to maneuver, but that is not the case with the Sure Start.  I will be buying this in the future.

This is the only shipping tape I use. No other brand matches this. Easy to use, goes on easy and keeps my packages secure.

I am often shipping boxes and of all the packaging tapes this is so far the best one! It really sticks and keeps boxes closed, all my boxes were received with no issues.

Always have had problems in the past with finding the end of the roll of tape. Sure Start Shipping Packaging Tape is easy to use product and makes taping boxes simple.

I sell a lot online so I'm always needing tape for labels or packaging. I always have problems with it sticking to where I don't need it though (mainly itself) so this packing tape is what I needed. Even if I move it weird and make it fall off the cutting part I could get it restarted without pulling tiny strands of it like other times. Glad I got this to review - I always need tape and it has helped.

I got this as a free sample and found it to work just as promised.  You can "start" the roll easily and it dispenses smoothly.  Very convenient for sealing boxes for mailing, shipping, or moving.

I use this Shipping Tape for everything around the house. The dispenser is easy to use and doesn't get bound up like the smaller style does. It's easy to pull and cut. The tape is nice and strong and I know it will hold up. I like to online shop so I'm constantly returning things. I need a good shipping tape to box up my returns. I always go with Scotch Shipping Tape!
