Is there anyway I can get a foot or longer straw to spray the product into a difficult to access area? I have used WD-40 for years and am always pleased with the results. An extra long SMART STRAW would be even smarter for me.

I have been using the new smart straw for a couple of years. And unfortunately it does not work very well. The mist feature when the smart straw is down fails when the can is half full and no amount of shaking will correct this from happening. This has been an issue with a dozen or more cans. Please bring back the old spray nozzle, it may not be as convenient but it worked. I will not be purchasing this product any longer because of all the half empty cans I have had to throw away.

I've been using WD40 to protect my motorbikes from the rubbish English weather for years.. It keeps the metal parts protected from salt & grit that gets spread all over our roads in the winter and makes washing the bikes easy too.. I've tried the bike specific "treatments" but found nothing better than WD40.

There is a little delay after you push the button down... and then when you release, it keeps on spraying for a second. This is not the can you want to use for a "surgical strike" application... I prefer the old-style cans.

Keep Your Stencils Clean!
WD-40 is fantastic for keeping industrial stencil wheels and paint screens clean. Just spray on before use, and at the end of the day wipe the paint off with a rag. No more dry paint buildup, no more ruining your stencils by scraping dried paint off with chisels etc. The paint just flakes off, and it works regardless of the type of paint. WD-40 rocks!

"Smart Straw"?? NO! - DUMB Design.
This stupid design is harder to operate and is easily breakable. I've used WD-40 for over 40 years and never had a problem. The formula is excellent for lubrication, cleaning hands, removing labels & stickers, etc. But, minutes ago with a full can, the up/down swivel mechanism broke and the contents are now unusable. Come-on, how hard would it be to "fuse" the original spray tube to the plastic cap? - A much simpler and less costly design. And as far as this up/down motion, I can more easily swivel my wrist. I won't buy any more of these until you offer a much smarter dispenser.

Never lose a straw again!
I bought this a few weeks back as I'm tired of losing the straw in the end of my tool box. I have an old 4x4 that I am rebuilding and some ceased nuts and bolts are impossible to break without first soaking them in WD40. Applying WD40 to awkward places becomes impossible without a straw and the new Smart Straw ensures that I will never lose a straw again and lets me hit those nuts and bolts without much overspray. Excellent product and I can't recommend it enough.

I LOVE the new permanent straw!
My husband and I both use WD40 regularly. He ALWAYS looses the straw! Now I buy a can for him and a can for me. He is not allowed to use my can with the smart straw. I have used this product for many years for all kinds of things around my home. I am a "handy"woman and use it for cleaning and loosening "stuck"screws and bolts.

Before discovering this wonderful product, some of my tools got rusty sitting in the garage for just a month or two. I know table saws are particularly prone to rust because of all the wood rubbing on the surface. I've been using WD-40 to spray a light coating on my table saw after each use ever use since it was new. I've had that saw for 25 years now and the surface is still rust free.

Smart straw not an exaggeration
Got this as I was fed up using the somewhat fiddly straw that you usually get with WD40. I'm glad that I did, the new straw is great for getting those hard to reach areas and saves the bother of attaching the older kind of straw. It also folds away easily for when you just need to spray it on. Excellent

Years ago, I was a single Mom, bringing up 2 young sons, without a lot of money to call a handyman at the drop of a hat. В So when the overhead springs inside my garage began making strange sounds while pulling the door up/down, I sprayed the springs with WD-40 & BINGO, once again they were SILENT! В Each Spring, I repeated this practice & never had this issue again. В Now, all my windows & doors opened with ease & without squeaks ... even sprayed my car's fan belt, eliminating that annoying squeak ! В Where there's a will, there's a way & it's with WD-40, a single woman's best friend!

I LOVE the new smart straw
I've been using WD-40 for years around the house and in my auto hobby stuff (old Volkswagens). В I've always used the old style can or the gallon with spray bottles for larger tasks lawn and garden stuff mostly).
I admit when I first saw the new smart straw can I thought it was just a dumb product gimmick. I picked one up only because there were no old style cans on the shelf. I was WRONG about this product. В This is very well thought out. В Having the straw right there all the time and being able to switch back and forth is super convenient and the idea is truly just SMART! В Now I actually look for this can over the old style and I can't wait to try the new pen and blast style cans/packages. В I'm not even normally a product review guy but I genuinely like this product so much that I looked up this site just so I could WD kudos for a job truly well done.

WD-40 Has Never Let Me Down!
There are many brands of penetrants/lubricants out there. And yes, some of them work pretty good. But, the only one that's never let me down is WD-40. The smart straw is the topping on the cake. No more losing the straw. It's also a must when working under a car without a hydraulic lift.

my truck drivers using WD-40 to clean and disassembling, to easily removing U-bolts, wheel nuts and many different bolts.
Especially good effect with abundant wetting nuts for a few days before the showdown, then unscrew it all like new!

Bring the old cheaper can back
The smart straw not only raised the price of the can by a few dollars it also has a delay after releasing the trigger so you use more product and WD-40 gets more revenue. Bring the cheaper more economical can back. This is a waste of product and money.

The smart straw does not work very well at all. В This is the second time it has happened. В When you flip the straw up, it is supposed to stream through the straw, except it doesn't. В The spray comes out of the top and goes everywhere and not to where yo want it. В The spray option doesn't work much better. В Horrible design and a waste of money. В I am going back to the small can.

I've pretty much stopped buy WD-40 since all I can find it in at local retailers is the "Smart Straw". My experience is that the nozzle leaks and gets everywhere except where I'm pointing it. Since WD-40 hasn't made the old version of the can an option, I've moved on to another product after using WD-40 for over 40 years.

Have never had a problem like this before......works great, always has, BUT, had a can setting on a shelf in my storage room, not too hot or too cold, and it somehow leaked, a lot. Ate paint off of another can of whatever, dripped down the shelves and pooled onto other shelves and some plastic trays....hardened a little, was easy to scrape off with minimal effort, but actually pitted one plastic tray while another type of the same make was unharmed.....never had this happen before and have had cans set for multiple years, way longer than this one......???????????any ideas why?????

1/2 can wasted-won't spray
I threw out 2 half cans that stopped working. I watched the videos-no good, Both were "smart straw" cans-JUNK. Will never buy theses again. WD 40 has been around a long time but your new stray cans while it sounds good on paper are uneffective. I might consider the regular spray cans but I advise against these!

WD-40 is great, but Smart Straw not so great.
I have bought the WD-40 brand for years. Always liked how well it lubricates. The can it comes in though is just bad. I have owned 3 cans with the Smart Straw and never had one that works right. They all eventually start leaking down the straw and quit spraying.

Should make the can 1/4 smaller
I have purchased 2 of these "smart straw" WD40 cans - both of them leave about 1/4 of the product - will not dispense.\
Just went to cemetery to clean mothers headstone (WD-40 works great for that) and could not get the product to spray! So frustratingId.\
The old spray system worked for years - is this an improvement?

1/4 of 8oz spray can not coming out
I recently purchased W/D 40 8oz spray, I have been using this product for years however being left with 1/4 can that will not spay is very disappointing as to their 2017 quality control.

12 oz can ALWAYS out of gas
The 12 oz. can ALWAYS runs out of gas after you use about 3-4 oz! What a waste of time (because you thought you had some you could use & now you have to go out and buy some more) and money (you buy the big can so you don't have to keep going to the store, but still have to anyway because it's out of gas and still 3/4 full).

Was almost out of my last can of WD 40 so I bought a new one. I used the new Smart Nozzle can and it worked fine, went to use it a couple weeks later and the tiny washer fell out. Now it is useless. I would tell friends to steer clear of this design.

Have had 3 cans with so called smart straw. Try and use it, the liquid bubbles out the top of the can all over everything except where you need it to go. Must be a really poor testing team to put this junk on a good product.

Messed up this time, didn't you?
I've been using WD-40 since the early 1970's, and it's a great product. This new two-way spray thing, though, is absolute junk!!! Used this can one time, accidentally dropped it, the spray thing broke off and I can't get it back on. Straight to t he trashcan it went.

I bought two cans with the smart straw. A few seconds into use the first can stopped spraying. I picked up the second can and again, a few seconds into use it also stopped working. Now I have two full but useless cans of WD40....

Use for corrosion protection
I built a trailer hitch to install on the front of my new Ford F150. It comes in handy when launching the boat. The components are mainly steel tubing and to finish them off I weld cover plates on the ends. Saltwater always seems to find somewhere to seep in so to protect the interior of the tubing I drill small holes in each of the cover plates (at the bottom so water can drain out) and then using the Smart Straw WD-40 I spray WD-40 into the inside of the tubing. I built my first hitch like this in 1995 and when I finally traded in that truck this year the hitch was still in great shape. I also use it on my winch, trailer jack and boat trailer springs.

I have a 65 mustang that had been sitting outside from 1995 to present. I got in there and couldn't move anything nor open the hood due to a bit of rust. I sprayed the hood hinges, door handles window handles, ect. And everything is now working. Thank you for making such a great product.

I’ve used this my whole life for a ton of various projects and issues! It streams out easily without a mess, and starts working immediately! A little goes a long way, and the straw spray attachment helps to get those hard to reach places.

I used this to help loosen the screws in the back of my oven so I could replace my oven element. Screws were rusty and baked. The spray tube nozzle was easy to use and put WD-40 just on screws and not all over back of oven. Made the screws come out very easy. I am a woman and I use this product all the time. Thank you WD-40

I have used WD-40 since I can remember. I love how they now have the attached straw for a more precise spray and then the easy spray feature as well with an updated nozzle.

So we bought this to help with the squeaky cabinet doors. Spray on the hinges and no more squeak. Downfall I can no longer hear when someone is trying to eat my cookie stash. Also worked wonders on getting stickers off the bunk beds. WD-40 needs to be in everyone's home.

Wasted about 1/4 of can because it would not spray anymore...I did see some videos online that you can go get a some type of tire thing and refill with air compressor...Too much hassle for me....
