This is a powerful office tool and should be on the top of every desktop. Being a technical professional, printed copies of larger documents are common. This stapler can handle the big jobs as well as staple just two pages neatly and securely. The staples hold tight, but are also easy to remove when needed to run a document through a copy machine. I own several which I bought used. They easily handle a 70 page document and can actually take on a few more pages than stated by the manufacturer. If you double side your copies, that's 140 printed pages that can be stapled on your desktop. I have one on my desk at home and one in the office and because this tool is so useful, I keep a spare just in case. The 5000 staple cartridge provides years of stapling convenience without having to refill. I've found only two negatives with this product -

1) They tend to be a bit loud
2) The internal trigger switch sometimes wears out

However, if the switch does go out, the unit can be refurbished under warranty or at a nominal cost, or if you can find the part online, it is replaceable if you are a bit handy with a screwdriver. I have found these units to be reliable and my problem experienced with the trigger switches may likely be due to the purchase of used equipment with unknown history. I would not let that be a deterrent and I give this product a high rating for quality, durability, and value.

The stapler has survived lots of usage and keeps on stapling. I would make a few recommendations though: the manner of adjusting the stapler to fit larger or smaller stapling jobs could be easier, and also the lever to adjust the position of the staple could be made to retain a chosen position better (I have to use tape to secure a certain staple position). The few times staples have jammed have been difficult to remove or find the jammed staples. But all this aside, it's a great stapler that is surviving heavy usage.

if you want a heavy duty for 6-7 months and then return for repair this is the one for you. for being 'HIGH CAPACITY" being used every day doesn't last. barely using 10 sheets at the most...mostly 2-4 pages together.

We purchased this heavy Duty electrical stapler for our office and in less than 18 months it is broken.

At the price of this unit you would expect it to last a lot longer, very disappointing.

I was thrilled to get this in a local auction. We love the reliability of the unit. Would recommend this to anyone for office or home use. My only complaint is having some difficulty loading a new staple cartridge but I have an older model and I see Swingline has addressed this issue in the newer model which has a feed wheel on the bottom to feed the staples. I'm thrilled with everything else about it. One handed stapling - Yeah. Reliability - Jam Free - Great Product.

This machine works well when it works. However, after about a year,it malfunctions almost on schedule. This is our second purchase of this machine in the office and the second time it went out on us. In the market for buying a new one however, not sure I want to repurchase this one.

I like this stapler but current it has stopped working. It doesn't seem to be jammed but I tried to fix it and it is still not working. It is making sounds like it is trying. Please some one help.

Had this model and it worked well for 5+ years. Stopped stapling - mechanism went through the motions but no staple came out.

Replaced it 3 weeks ago with the same model. Now, it runs and staples constantly. Nobody is within 50 feet of it, but it just keeps stapling! Unplugged and cleared out about 20 staples that were gathering on the edge, but as soon as it was plugged back in, it started stapling air again....and again...and again...
