I always use Shout spray for treating stains before laundering, but I recently learned how effective it is for set-up stains.

While on a 15-day tour of Scandanavia, I got a bloodstain of one of my garments on the third day of the tour.  We didn't have time or the ability to access laundry services, so I just placed the item in the dirty laundry bag where it remained for the next several days.  When I returned home, I sprayed the stain with Shout but was very skeptical that the stain would be removed.  Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the two-week old stain washed right out after being treated with Shout prior to laundering! Shout is my go-to stain remover from now on!

My son runs cross country. They had a wet, muddy practice that left his clothes dotted in dirt from the run. We immediately sprayed his clothes, rubbed & washed. They came out stained with the dirt. I immediately sprayed & rubbed again & washed in the next load. Nope, still stained. It's just dirt for crying out loud! But didn't work. I tried shout on his brothers white soccer uniform & same story. I'd look elsewhere if I were you. I'll be asking for my money back guarantee!
